Unit 2 Pros: Nice windows, modern aesthetic Cons: Management are scummy and unresponsive. As close to slumlords that you'll fine for an apartment that rents for $11,800 a month. Here is a doozy of an incident. 1. We had an incident where there was a carbon monoxide leak and none of the alarms went off. Fortunately, the first floor unit's alarms were functioning and we were woken up by the fire department knocking on our door. The fire department stated our carbon monoxide levels were over 100 ppm. Apparently the leak was caused by an operating furnace, despite the fact it was the middle of May. Interestingly (not really), we had sent a maintenance request a few weeks earlier asking them why the heater was on. I guess it was ignored. Hoping to get an explanation, we called to the office to discuss the situation and Mike (the property manager) could not have cared less about the ordeal. In fact, Mike's response was: "Too bad, look at what's going on in Ukraine." Needless to say this was just one example of the unprofessionalism displayed by the management company. At times, they truly shocked us. This was our cumulative 7th apartment among the roommates, and we had never had issues with management before. Some other things to note: In the winter, the heating pipes bang so loudly it literally sounds like someone is hitting them as hard as they can with a drum stick. T he neighborhood is surrounded with homeless, drunks, and college students. Garbage is stored inside which makes hallways smell with pest risk. Through all of this, I had amazing roommates and we still loved our lives. So it was a beautiful story at the end of the day. A lot of good laughs, a lot of great memories. This is just a warning on what to expect. If you're cool with that, you'll make a lot of great memories too. Advice to landlord: **Advice to the property managers* Have some pride & class.
