No such thing as help in this building. They don't answer any maintenance requests and if they do it takes weeks and they pretty much put a bandaid on an issue only to have it break again. Horribly maintained. The only good thing about this building is the doormen.

I've been living at the Wellesley for a few months now and to be honest I haven't had any complaints so far. The staff at the lobby is super friendly and caring. It's sad to see that there are some reviews that don't really do justice to the work and effort put every single day by the guys working here. I believe the manager does a great work running a building with over 400 apartments I can only imagine the workload he has and still he is always nice and kind. I think that you can know how a person is for how they treat the people they work with and how they treat people in general and for those little things that people take for granted. I've seen him in the lobby being very professional and friendly with the staff, holding elevator doors for you, and the couple of times I needed a couple of light bulbs replaced, I had no issue at all with my request even when it was a minor thing. Yes, I know some people say well that's their job and it might be, but I just want to highlight that they do their best every day as we all try to do in our jobs. I'm just grateful for living in a place with a staff that is nice and kind that always has a smile for you even when you can only see it now by looking at the shrinking of their eyes because of the masks.

believe the negative reviews; it's even worse; possibly the worst managed building in Manhattan; also not safe re minimal pandemic measures; horribly maintained; opposite of luxury; choose to live elsewhere.

The location is great, but the Wellesley is not what you would expect for a full service Upper East Side luxury rental. Aside from rodent problems (yes, rats!), the elevator situation is bad during busy hours, and when one of the 3 elevators is out (which is often), it is unbearable. The hallways and trash rooms stink most of the time, and you're lucky if they vacuum the common areas once per week. Oh, did I mention the rats?! There are many better places to rent in NYC.

This is probably one of the worst luxury apartments I've ever lived in NYC. The location and building is great but the rest isn't. The elevators are horrible. There's always 1/3 that's broken and it would take forever before the pandemic. Elevators during the pandemic were a ------- relief since tenants moved out. The front lobby and the extra touch screen elevator make the building looks nice but the rest of the building is old. I honestly couldn't wait to move out. The staff gave me a hard time my first day moving in and last day moving out but like I gave a ----.. I wasn't a resident anymore. I got locked out of my apartment one night and my roommates weren't home so I asked the front desk for the spare key. Two guys working the front desk shift said they couldn't give it to me because it was off hours since it was 2AM.. What's the point of having a spare key if the residents won't be able to ask for it whenever they need? I ended up having to call a ------- locksmith which costed $300 and I emailed management to pay me back for that and they refused to. I honestly hated the staff from day 1 and I wouldn't live in the building again. ---- you guys

What was once a great building has become a filthy ghost town. There are only two other tenants on my floor. My rent was just raised even though all of us have just been through a pandemic. I wasn't asking for a reduction just a rent freeze I was told no so I'm moving out, almost $4,000 a month for a one bedroom isn't worth it. The service is terrible, in the past two years I've had numerous leaks in my apartment and had to physically hunt the super and manager down for them to fix the problem. They are never in the office and don't answer emails or phone calls. There has been a major trash issue on my floor nothing has been done to correct the problem. I am now dealing with a mice infestation no exterminator has been here for two weeks now. I use the garage and have to pass sleeping employees and the intense smell of marijuana. This is unacceptable. The only staff members that are good at their jobs work in the lobby and one handyman out of three. Where are the people who are suppose to be taking care of these issues. It's no wonder that it seems everyday there are two or three move outs going on. I hope the owner realizes what is going on here cause his companies reputation and the buildings are on the line and I honesty don't see how it could get worse.

Sadly I just moved out of the place I called home for the past ten years. There are numerous reasons why I made this decision. The first being that the superintendent never does anything, he has no business being in charge of a luxury building. Incredibly unprofessional and rude (in the middle of the pandemic the man didn't even wear a mask). The second reason is the management office instead of addressing issues they pretend that there are no problems in the building. The final reason is that after nearly four months of the pandemic when people are short on money they wanted to raise my rent SIX HUNDRED dollars which is unacceptable considering how horribly this building is managed. I can only imagine when I move out how difficult it will be for me to receive my security deposit back based on what some other former tenants have told me.

I lived in the building for eight years, seven of those years were wonderful the last one was a nightmare. It all started with managerial and staff changes. First the owners replaced one of the Vice Presidents with a man who has no business dealing with people on an everyday basis. He is incredibly rude and tells you he will look into it and get right back to you. He never does. I'm not sure why he was hired but he's in qualified. The other change was the building manager retired last year and his three replacements are horrendous. One was already fired he lasted I think a month. The two current people just don't have a clue what they are doing. The manager has no experience whatsoever, he tries but doesn't seem to ever get anything accomplished. The superintendent I barely have words for he's just a piece of garbage. He lies to tenants, talks down to workers and walks around like he owns the place. He is also the main reason I moved out, with the amount of money I pay I shouldn't have to deal with an incompetent rude racist jerk. I have a feeling a lot of other tenants will be leaving soon just because of him. He is hurting the buildings and managements reputation but I guess as long as they get their money from all the college kids parents that live in the building nothing will change.

Lived in the building for four years and in that time it has went from a luxurious building to nothing more than a dorm. The owner now seems to only rent to college kids who make the building filthy, smoke, drink and let their dogs run loose (the building is suppose to be dog free but everyone seems to have one). The new management team is horrible...one has no experience and the other is just a liar. It seems that upper management no longer cares about the tenants or the buildings reputation. There is no point in calling them anymore either. When I have had issues in the past year all I'm told is contact the superintendent (who does nothing) or they will look into it (nothing is ever taken care of). Some neighborly advice if you want to be happy - live somewhere else.

Worst building I have ever lived in. It sometimes weeks for simple maintenance request to be taken care of, the building has no air conditioning in the hallways, my apartment has had a roach problem for the last several weeks and there are days when there is so much garbage by the laundry area you can't access it. I have no idea why the owner hired the two people in charge after the old manager retired but there has to be better people out there looking for a job. The only high ratings I'm giving are for the doormen other than that this building is awful.
