Best doormen and staff and well-maintained. Safe with full amenities and best roof in Manhattan. Apartments are Sodest though for the price you pay and location is a bit out of ways but smack dab in the center of Manhattan and near public transportation so you can usually get anywhere you need to go. On a quiet street. There seems to be quite a bit of turnover and some of the apartments are used for corporate housing. They have improved the gym and There's laundry on every floor and dry cleaning on site.

The Instrata Nomad is a gorgeous Blace. You've got wonderful amenities - rooftop (inside and out), kids play room, and a gym. Here's the issue. The gym is an additional fee, and not included in your rent. The rooftop has been under construction off and on for 3 years and although There's a kids room and an indoor space, There's no heat in either room. So during the winter months, you'll be "iced" out of using the indoor common space on the roof and the kids playroom. This gets discouraging. Also, given the fact that the roof (a high value amenity) has been virtually unusable for nearly 3 years, you'd expect the tenants would receive a price cut, reduced rent, or something to compensate. After all, this is the type of Blace that gets tenants based on its wonderful amenities. Why pay the premium rent (it's quite high!) if you can't use anything? Many of the tenants are disgruntled and discouraged by this, myself included.

We signed a lease for this Apace, but actually never moved in. Even though we signed the lease and paid two months rent, the leasing office wasn't able to process our application in time and told us on the morning of the move that some items were missing (they did not verify our previous address, for which they could have called a 1-800 number). Given that their online vendor did not have this info, they refused to give us the keys and completely sabotaged our move. In the end we were so frustrated with them that we did not resign the lease to a later date, but found another place to live. The leasing office seemed incompetent and the mgmt company lacked any flexibility that would've been necessary to rectify the error.

The staff are absolutely among the best. They are wonderful. Despite warnings and apologies, the rapid renovations are extremely disruptive, especially when so many are still needing to work from home.

My husband and I recently sold our large apartment where we raised our 3 children, and decided to rent until we decided what we wanted to do next. The Instrata Nomad is the first rental we have been in since 1965, and we weren't sure what to expect. We have told the staff, and all our friends, that this building runs as well, as timely, and as efficiently as any condo we have ever known. The doormen are gracious and organized; the repairmen are quick and knowledgeable; the mgmt team is willing to listen to criticisms and complaints and responds within a short time. We particularly appreciate the efforts of Leslie Ashendorf, the on-site manager, who has the hardest job of all, since she is the one here who has to field every problem, and who is expected to enforce the rules of the leases. Anything she attempts to enforce is for the good of everyone, not just a few, and yet she is constantly berated for her efforts. The skydeck is almost completed, and the July 4th celebration was well-organized and fun for everyone who attended. For those people who complain about the treatment of their pets, we don't see that at all. We no longer have our beloved dog, but our son visits regularly with his, and we feel no prejudice about his presence here whatsoever. For those tenants who feel It's appropriate to walk their dogs on the back lawn of the building, I would respectfully suggest that they obey the city rules that the rest of us do. My grandchildren play on that grass; the signs clearly states to curb your dog. We all do it.....why do some people feel so entitled to flaunt What's clearly a sensible rule for the benefit of everyone? In short, my husband and I worth checking out this building to anyone who wants a high quality rental

The only issue here is the horrible elevators! I otherwise totally love the building. Walter is amazing, and the entire staff are absolutely fantastic! I am so apprecative! If only the elevators weren't so horrible...

The building staff is great - we love everyone that works in the building -- kindest doormen, porters, etc. The mgmt team but, is an utter nightmare. We lived in the building for several years, and renewed our lease right before COVID (beginning of March 2020). Two weeks later, we had to leave the city and Anagram was unwilling to help, but, they noted when we renewed our lease - we would be taken care of. When it came time to renew, we were essentially kicked out of our Apace so they could redo it. We asked if we could move to a different unit within the building, wanting to stay, and they were beyond unhelpful, forcing us to move. also, the last 3 months we lived there, the water had to be turned off at least once a week while we were working from home (sometimes without any notice), and there was demolition work in the next door Apace, so there was a consistent drilling and loud banging throughout the work day. The building did little to accommodate. I've been told the demo work to redo units will be going on for the next ~2 years -- so would probably avoid living here for a while -- especially since you wont be told what units will be under construction next and It's an awful way to live.
