Pros: tall ceilings, super close to the L and fun shops, nothing particularly super bad about it. cool vibes and big living room Cons: black mold all over bathroom, walls are outrageously thin, room is super small, only one room has a heater, only one outlet in my room, no window or fan or smoke alarm in living room/kitchen. Heat bill seems suspicious as there is only one heater and the landlord is the one that charges us. Advice to landlord: cheaper rent!

Pros: Old loft building, beautiful apartments with lots of natural light. Cons: Non responsive landlord/super unless issue is highly property threatening. Broken washers/driers in building. Most apartments leak water from ceiling/windows on rainy days and the issue is never fixed. Advice to landlord: Please be more responsive when flooding occurs

Pros: Tall ceilings, huge windows, unique space. Awesome roof space Cons: Building itself is dirty, the laundry in building does not work most of the time, hallways smell like cat urine pretty often, packages have been opened and stolen

Pros: Right next to the Morgan L train. Beautiful windows. Pet friendly. The neighbors in the building I have talked to so far are really kind—(others don’t bother to even say hi.) Cons: The drawback with having big windows> ours ended up leaking during heavy storms. Lots of water damage from leaking ceilings. Management is terrible and unresponsive about fixing things. The ceilings were leaking for months before they sent someone over to fix it. Buzzers remain broken. Don’t expect for any action taken for weeks or months with an issue. With living in a old loft building, the sound proofing is pretty much non existent: you hear traffic out on the street and your neighbors fighting (multiple times) and throwing things at 2 am. Advice to landlord: Be more responsive

Pros: - super close to subway - large windows, lots of light - high ceilings - hip neighborhood - rooftop - spacious lofts - only 13min to Manhattan Cons: - noisy street and sometimes loud neighbors (but mostly cool) - only one subway around (L) - between 2 factories - bad air, very industrial - dirty sidewalks around the building, roof, and often in the walkways - rats in the garbage outside (well, it is nyc) - hot water can end while you take the shower (heater tank) - no (freight) elevator - mail gets stolen sometimes Advice to landlord: Would clean the street outside and keep the building cleaner inside.

Pros: Open roof with a spectacular view. Tall ceiling and open spaces. 20 feet from the L. So much light! Cons: Management is not responsive. Things are a little hodgepodge. Trash management is not great. Advice to landlord: Please be more responsive to tenant communication.

Pros: Giant roof, building managers are pretty responsive to common problems (bugs- exterminator comes right away, leaks- will come and fix things). Lots of space. Such a convenient location and fun neighborhood. Cons: Construction company is next door so the noise is about 7 am to 6 pm. Every. Day. Neighbors are rowdy, loud, and generally terrible. Music blasting every night, very regularly. No central heating, there’s only one heater in the apartment. No window in living room or ventilation. Packages are stolen very regularly, I don’t get anything delivered to the building. Advice to landlord: Honestly, the building is pretty well run and the managers are very responsive. Could use new laundry machines (always leaking), and better security for the packages always being stolen.
No HPD violations on record.
