Pros: Great big spacious rooms, biggest bathroom I've had in NYC so far. Great location, close to the laundromat and grocery store and within walking distance of the subway and bus lines. Cons: Can be hard to get in touch with the owners sometimes and there's no real active super.

Unit 4 Pros: The apartment itself is so beautiful. I lived here for a year and felt very settled, happy and part of the Cobble Hill community. Cons: Adele is a terrible landlord. She increased my rent by 20% 12 days before the end of my lease despite my having reached out a month prior asking for an update. I didn't have heat until late November, boiling water to stay warm. Every time I reached out to ask her to send someone to help she told me it was impossible and I was wrong. There was a build up of carbon monoxide in the basement that one of the other tenants found out about when National Grid came to look at the hot water heater, which Adele apparently took care of but then put a lock on the basement door to prevent anyone from going down there. She also never communicated with the rest of the building about the carbon monoxide; the only notice she gave me was to ask if I had a monitor for it. It's been almost a month since I moved out, and she still hasn't returned my security deposit and has been ignoring my messages. She's based in California and I don't know if I can take her to small claims and I'm so frustrated and angry. You will pay a steep broker's fee to move in here, and Adele will make your life awful. I don't recommend living here at all. Advice to landlord: Stop being so greedy and making your tenants' lives difficult.
