Pros: Across the street from the park, has an amazing roof and courtyard for bike and motorbike storage, great sense of community Cons: The windows are old and difficult to open and close in my unit.

Pros: Nice lofts and building community Cons: Management company continues to increase rents by large percentages. No upgrades to units. Nicer units have been upgraded by tenants, rather than owner. We have paid to make our units nicer, but it's not worth it, given rent hikes.

Pros: Apartments are massive. Old hardwood floors, big windows & tall ceilings. Stuff you don’t see often. Neighbors are great. Location is excellent provided you drive or bike. Across the street from a nice park. Pretty much a DIY building. Lots of people build lofts & other built-ins. It’s an open canvas if you’re handy. Cons: Sloppy conversion job. Yearly gas issues every time the heat needs to come on (once it shut off for almost 2 months and they had to set up temporary showers in the courtyard). Garbage rooms are a mess & rodents plague the 1st floor. 4th floor gets insanely hot in the summer. You’ll need a window AC unit and the high ceilings mean the apartment is ludicrously expensive to heat & cool. Super is very nice but won’t do much to help unless it’s an emergency. Advice to landlord: Stop bringing in that idiot duo of plumbers, they clearly don’t know what they’re doing

Unit 202 Pros: It’s next to a passable park. Cons: Poorly maintained, loud, zero sound proofing, rude neighbors and depressing Advice to landlord: Your spaces are being used as airbnbs and sublet just so you’re aware

Unit 3B Pros: The location and ease of access with the elevator, mailroom, and laundry are ideal. Friendly atmosphere among tenants. Cons: The super is overworked and getting something fixed can take months, if ever. Went without AC or Heat for a year and a half with no response from the property owner for weeks or months on end. It was eventually fixed, but a whole winter and summer without heat is completely unacceptable. Advice to landlord: Please fix the solutions your tenants tell you about in a reasonable manner.

Unit 1i Pros: Beautiful, big spaces, short walk to the water, Coffey Park is great! Cons: We lived on the first floor. Every time a storm came, the building’s septic tank would back up and sewage would flood into our apartment. Management would consistently claim the problem had been fixed, but the problem continued (our neighbors said this had been ongoing for years). We also had a terrible experience with the management company. They never returned our security deposit. Stay away from this building! (14 Verona / 5 Delavan)

Pros: Great unique loft apartments Cons: The most horrible landlords you can imagine. They lie, they cheat, they create a dangerous environment and the only way you’ll ever get them to bring anything up to code or provide you with the most basic satisfactory living conditions is to bring them to court, which has been done a lot. If they are talking, they are lying period. Stay away. Advice to landlord: There is no advice to give, they know what they are doing.
