Be sure to keep a copy of any and ALL documents you provide to the apartments when moving out because ------, the manager, will lie and say you did not provide the documents when you ask for a copy. And actually, she will not return your phone call or emails. I have a copy of what she is saying I didn't turn in to show her she is lying. She IS bi-polar and will also "decide" whether she wants to accept ups packages for you. If you make her mad, she will do everything to make your stay at Woodside Village unpleasant. I lived there for a year and there were more gunshots, fights, and a man screaming for help at 7am than anywhere I've ever lived. It is NOT a safe property and the parking situation is ridicules. When I moved in I listed 3 cars on my lease and when they decided to assign parking in the middle of my lease, all 3 bedroom apts could only have 2 cars inside the gate, even though there was a half empty parking lot at nights. And maintenance in my apartment never happened the entire time I lived there. They have ONE maintenance man for all units that does not live on property. Although he is a very nice man, there is WAY too much work for this old of an apartment building to have only 1 guy working. ALSO, THE WATER IS DISGUSTING & IT STINKS AND IS BROWN if you leave it off for more than a day. Do NOT drink the water here or give it to your pets. It is very unsafe. When the water kept being turned off, 5 times, ------ told me not to call the City of Houston because the apartment complex would get fined for something. Not sure what that was about but it didn't sound very good, as is to why I moved out early. The only good thing about the apartments is that she lets aggressive breed dogs live there including pit bulls and rottis. Guess that was the only plus.

I have lived at Woodside Village since early 2012 (almost 3 years now) and I love it. I work across the street and have recommended several of my coworkers the complex and they've moved in too. Apartment Pros: Spacious floor plan, washer dryer connections, dishwasher, tile floor, patio, central air, crown molding. The electric bill is super low due to the awesome low rate we get as we pay Woodside directly. No monthly pet rent. Apartment Cons: If you live on the 1st floor you can hear your neighbor's footsteps upstairs, but not the ones next to you. You do get the benefit of added insulation and lower electric bills though, so I'll take the trade off. Complex Pros: Two pools, nice little gym, doggie stations with bags, parking requires stickers so visitors can't take resident spaces, free breakfast for residents on Saturday. Complex Cons: Not all the pet owners use the bags but I've seen maintenance crew doing clean up regularly so it isn't too bad. Rents are going up because the Heights neighborhood is seeing increased demand. This isn't Woodside's fault, this is just a fact in Houston. These aren't brand new luxury units, so sometimes you have issues like leaks or whatever, but issues are repaired quickly. Again, this is to be expected with the reasonable price. Lastly, no visitor parking within the gates. Management Pros: Cheryl, Allison and the work crew are great. Maybe I'm an easy tenant because I pay my rent on time and I'm courteous with the staff, but everyone at the office treats me wonderfully. I've never witnessed anyone being mistreated either. All my work orders are taken care of on the day that I request them. We get monthly newsletters updating us on complex policies and encouraging residents to put requests in. I've also seen a huge improvement with Cheryl as the manager and Allison in the office. Exteriors are maintained, the massive parking problems were resolved by issuing stickers, the work crew is efficient, the gym got updated, and we got new pool furniture. I don't leave garbage out so I don't have insect problems, but I know that if I did I could ask the office to spray and it wouldn't be an issue. Overall, I have really enjoyed living here and I recommend it for professionals looking for a nice complex with good ameneties at a reasonable price.

Social Media...Apartment Ratings...just another social media to say un true things. Never facts. Only residents that are evicted or ex employees as the one below bashing the manager saying she is bi polar. Again, not true.... Do not patronize these kind of web sites. They are only for the non thinkers amusement. 99% of it IS NOT TRUE. President Obama went on National Television last night regarding these kind of web sites. AGAIN NOT TRUE...ONLY FOR AMUSEMENT....Do not buy into it...Visit these properties yourself. See with your own eyes.

I've lived her for over 7 years and so far this is the best manager we've had. Trust me we had a few bad ones before Cheryl. She really cares about people and is a real sweetheart. I know people get upset with her but they usually don't pay rent or some issue. She's got a tough job. The property has never looked better and I would like to add the current maintenance is the best so far!!!! Thank God that Nolan guy is gone. A little weird...Just saying. But thank you Woodside for making our home great! Sincerely, Brad Conner Resident

I love living at Woodside in the Heights. I work across the street and have referred several coworkers who live here as well. The apartments are spacious and reasonably priced. I have a washer and dryer hookup and dishwasher, but our awesome electricity deal means the utility bill is super reasonable. The parking used to be a huge headache because some residents were parking 3 - 5 cars here and visitors took up resident parking, but the management listened to the complaints and assigned parking stickers at the end of summer this year (2014) and since they did that I have been able to park near of my apartment every night. I moved in Feb 2012 and I have not had a single issue with the manager or the assistant. I am friendly to both ladies and I pay my rent on time so we all get along great. I've had maintenance requests over the years and every single one was fixed that day. We all get monthly newsletters letting people know the rules and bug spraying schedule. The office has offered to spray for me if I've ever needed it, but since I take my trash out regularly and don't leave food out I've never had a roach problem. I have never had either car broken into and I've seen a security guard doing rounds around the place at night. Good things/Improvements I've noticed just from when I first moved in to now: Improved fitness room, new pool furniture, doggie bag stations around the complex, parking stickers. The management does try. I'm surprised that there are angry reviews on here but most people enjoy living here and it seems like we are getting more professional neighbors and the prices in the Heights are rising, so so are rental costs. That's just the Houston market. If you can't afford it, don't live in the Heights. Woodside isn't the fanciest apartment complex, but it doesn't cost as much as a luxury place either. It's a good value for people wanting a clean, nice place to live within the loop.

I lived in this community for almost two years. The reason I lived here is because it's the only place I could afford in the area. It wasn't too bad looking. Although I hated the winter time when I couldn't get any hot water or my water was brown!!!! I remember seeing police officers walking around and then all of a sudden I saw security guards. I guess you get what you pay for because soon after that my car got broken into. As soon as my lease was over in March, I moved out. The manager wasn't too bad. It's true, she had her days when she was super moody, but I think it was just menoupause?? Anyway, if you have a few extra hundreds each month I'd suggest you find another complex, but if your money is tight, then this place is alright, but just remember you get what you pay for!

------ the manager is bi-polar. Catch her on a day when she has taken her meds and she is fine. Catch her on a day she is off the meds and she is rude, unprofessional, unreasonable and, well, a total you know what. I have lived here over 3 years so I have lots of experience with her; too many to relay. Get rid of her and it would be a great place to live.

I read the review before mine and all I have to say is the current manager is the best they have ever had. I've lived here over 7 years and the property has never looked better. Cheryl cares about everyone. She is a real sweetheart and we all love her. Keep up the good work, don't let someone get you down because they did not get their deposit back. You go!!!! Thanks for our great apartment!!!! George Beckett
