Very quiet and well mannered community, neighbors are friendly and courteous. Nice Community where the staff is very friendly and helpful. If you need anything the office staff is always willing to help in any way possible. Fun events hosted by office bring the community together.

This is now Broadstone City Park on TC Jester Management is terrible and the place is falling apart. You will be told that you have access to a pool and grill area; however for the last four months it has been locked. They did resurface the pool, but that was over two months ago. Paint is peeling from the patio which pets and children are picking up. Management has been told, but have done nothing to fix the issue. Water is turned off once a month (from 9-5). I was told this was done so that if there was ever a water main break/issue it would not affect the entire complex, just a portion. Well, that was incorrect since we had water main break a week ago that affected the entire complex. It is expensive and you pay for amenities that you do not have access to. Jaime, the mgr, is useless.

OMG and now they are not picking up the trash? to add to our rat problem. And they say they are thinking about removing the gas grills which is one amenity that everyone loves, to grill by the pool.

My boyfriend and I visited this complex a couple days ago. The place was very crowded, noisy and the residents didn't seem like they were in a very good mood. I did note 2 guys came in complaining about how there was no parking and it was 5:30pm on a Wednesday. Anyway, no one helped us for about 5 minutes so we were just awkwardly standing there. Then, Bryce came up, greeted us very nicely and we started the process. He took us around and it was all very beautiful, but I just cannot see paying $1275 for 641 sft of space. Yes, you get a wall painted "free of charge", but you have to pay out the --- for everything else. They have perks and a beautiful pool with a lot of seating, but I would like to think I would spend more time inside my place of residence then out looking at everything else. I'd like to have some space, I will be spending most of my time there. The apartment itself was nice, but honestly nothing special, not worth the money. Reluctantly, we put a deposit down, but I found a better apartment the next day. I called Bryce to tell him we weren't interested anymore and I thought the place was beautiful, but was looking for something to more fit our lifestyle. He said we couldn't get our deposit back. He also said that, we should read everything before we sign. If they weren't in such a rush to go home for the day, we probably would have. That is something you should say in your speel when going over the application, in my opinion. Then, he proceeded to tell me that if I go anywhere else, I won't be getting the same treatment and I would be kicking myself in the "you-know-what". Basically, he was WARNING me to stay away from places with cheaper rent and bigger places because they don't have good customer service. I was so insulted and taken back by his response. My boyfriend talked some sense into him and he decided to give us back our deposit. It's not the money, it's the principal. I would never go back to that place. I feel so much better now that I found a better place to rent.

New management is great, this place is beautiful and clean; really loving it! New pool and water fountains. They assign one car spot per apartment, so if you have more that one you need to rent a garage for an additional fee ($100/m); its worth it considering you get a pretty good deal for the apartment/value. The location and neighborhood are hard to beat.

I have lived here since January 2012 and I love it. I rent a one bedroom wit a study, but i use the study as an extra bedroom. The apartments are nice and the grounds are lovely. The price is great to be this close in to town, and the ofice staff are so sweet and accepting of animals, especially my pup Lola. Parking is the only amenity that is scarce, but I believe that to be scarce in any major city. Maintenance is always completed in a timely manor, and the staff has alwaays been professional and friendly! I love my retreat in the city! I don't know why anyone had problems with the office staff, but maybe they had an off day. I would try again, because this is the best deal in town! Leslie, Bruce and Will have always gone out of their way to make our life here more comfortable! In fact, I recommended the Retreat to my old best friend who just moved back into to town and she moves in July!

All I can say is WOW!(And that s not a good thing.) I went into The Retreat hoping to get information, a tour, and great customer service experience but I didn t get anything. Once I walked in, I was greeted by the young lady in the front. After telling her what I needed, instead of helping she looked over to another male to give me further instructions. I then repeated myself to him stating what I needed. His first response was We don't have anything" I'm not moving anytime soon, I would still like information. Then he claims "We are full". I then began telling him that I stay in the area, and would like to continue to do so, as well as telling him what I'm currently paying at my current apartment. After saying so he walked up to me. (Yes, after five minutes of me talking to him he got up after saying what I would pay.) Once he got up he handed me a brochure and asked me to call him in a few days to ask about their availability. But wait, weren t you just full a few minutes ago?! On another note, why would I call you for availability, shouldn't you call me? At no time did he ask my name, number or any contact information from me. Not only that, he didn't offer me a tour, or any kind of customer service I should have been given. i would never recommend this property just based on their HORRIBLE customer service. They should all go back to training!!

Great apartments and nice grounds with excellent location. I agree with previous comments that Brice is a good manager and makes every effort to accommodate residents. If it were not for him communication with the office would be a complete frustration. Be aware not to depend on the price quotes or any information received from the rest of the staff. The only thing they are consistent with is that they consistently have no knowledge of anything they speak of and you can depend on them giving you wrong information. As the comment below states they can be rude and this is well known among residents. Have any price quotes confirmed with Brice or just bypass the staff completely and deal directly with him. Otherwise no other complaints.

After living at the Retreat for some time now, I've come to find the following: 1. Management (Bryce) is very professional and political in his decision making. Friendly, easy going, and has common sense. 2. The staff seem extremely friendly at first impression. Then, after you're in the aprtment, the leasing agents are rude and treat you totally different. Why? I guess because they already got their "sale". Good thing the lease is up soon. 3. The property isn't as safe as they tell you. In a period of less than 6 months, I've heard from several neighbors about incedents that occured to them including 1 assault, 2 burglaries of apartments, 4 car incedents, and 2 vanalisms on cars. 4. Parkign is HORRIBLE. They press the fact that visitors should park in the front of the leasing offices, but that's the place where someone was beat, robbed, and 2 of the car break-in's occured. I wouldn't want my visitors parking out there after those reports! 5. The model looks so nice, but when you get your unit- yeah right! 6. Maintenance has been called before, and they respond quick most of the time. 7. The pet policy is strict, yet there are so many aggressive breeds on property. The aggressive "looking" dogs I've seen seem to be really nice and that's something else that needs to change. For pet-friendly people, this doesn't cut it. our dog was declined solely based on breed. The sad thing is that our dog doesn't even bark. The poodle down stairs is more loud and annoying than anything. They need to be more pet friendly. 8. Since I've moved in, the place appears to be getting worse in terms of crime. Maybe rent prices should be adjusted to really fit what you're getting when you move in. I don't mind paying higher rent if you get what you're paying for. My advice, try moving to another area closer into the heights. Not safe.

I lived at the Retreat for 4 years. I spent 2 years in a 2/2 and the last 2 years in a 2/1. I actually loved living at the Retreat, and was sad to leave. The property was extremely well kept. Management always kept up with powerwashing, painting, landscaping, etc. The maintenance team was great, and responded within a day. There were community parties with prizes, food, music, etc. I spent alot of time at the pool in the summers with friends, and it was great. Gets pretty crowded so good to get there early. I had a pretty good relationship with management. They were very nice and helpful everytime I needed something- which was often since I had packages ALL the time. The parking was limited at times, but I guess that is something to be expected in an apartment complex though. Parking and my annoying, senior citizen, downstairs neighbor that complained about every little peep are the only complaints I had. Even though she complained all the time management was still nice about it. Called me to discuss rather than just sending out notices or anything like that. Seriously though to the lady that lived under me....for apartment living you can't expect to not hear the people above you at all. It's an apartment, and if you are someone who wants absolute complete silence unless its yourself- then buy a house! :) I moved out of this complex because I really needed more space, and being a multiple animal owner need flooring other than carpet. If they offered hardwoods or stained concrete I would be back to live in their 2 bedroom 1 bathroom in a second!! Mangement was extrememly nice when I gave my notice, and tried to work with me as much as possible so I could stay. I left my apartment clean, and received almost all of my deposit back. I was charged $30 for the screen door, but that is because my cat scratched it. My deposit got lost in the mail so they had the accounting department cut a new check for me, and let me come pick it up. I felt very safe at the Retreat. I am a 25 yr old lady, and lived alone. I used to walk my dog sometimes past midnight all around the complex, and never felt unsafe (AND I am a scaredy-cat btw). Overall I had a great experience living at the Retreat, and was happy with the management and maintenance. Hopefully in the future they will upgrade to hardwood flooring so I can move back!! :)
