I have now been here a year and a half, and although things seem to be slipping a bit on the security side, this is still a nice and quiet place to live. The gate is frequently open now, and the residents don't seem to care that it is supposed to be one-way when it is open..Some night that's going to be loud and messy. Yes, there was a murder here months ago, but it is more worrisome when the residents are not shocked. There have not been any others that I know of since. The grounds are nice, the pools are clean, the trash is picked up, our car hasn't been broken into and neither has our apartment. The drains all seem to work, the roof doesn't leak, and I haven't seen a single bat...All in all, I would absolutely say this may be the best apartment ever for under $550...With washer and dryer connections. If there are neighbors who don't agree, then let them have my old apartment at Westheimer Park...then they will have something to complain about!!!

A man was fatally stabbed in the parking lot when he went to visit his children at about 9 p.m. Detectives said they have several theories, but they do not know the motive for the killing or any suspect. This is shocking & sad. These apartments are not safe!!!!!!!!

These apartments aren't what the others have said at all. They are quiet, the people keep to themselves and don't congregate in the common areas. Management has been wonderful about fixing every last thing we've asked about. They even changed the outlet for the dryer because we bought the wrong one! No roaches, no rodents. Well landscaped, and the sidewalks only have flooding issues when it has been raining for hours. The entire city has flooding issues after hours of rain! I have so far not had any trouble with management "losing" a payment. The apartments are a little small, but I doubt you could find a bigger ones with such a nice environment for the same money. Also, I live next door to a person with a dog that yaps all the time, and guess what...I can't hear it unless I have my front door open. The common wall between the living rooms seems to be very effective.

My husband and I lived at the Whittfield Apts from May 29, 2004 till June 2, 2007. We only moved because my daughter wanted us to move in with her and her family. When we lived there the office staff was the best. Things were done as soon as you called them. We never had a problem with anything. It was a very quiet place to live. I can't believe that it is like the last two reviews said. Unless the office staff has changed and the new ones don't care. The office staff when we were there was very caring.

The apartments are small and the buildings are old so it is very affordable. The office staff is not efficient or friendly. Their accounting and record keeping is lousy. Every other month I had to argue that I had in fact paid rent on time and in full and give them the dates and check numbers becuase they had no record of them. There are well lit laundry facilities or you can rent machines, but they are stackable for the 1 bed room and efficiency plans. The tenants are diverse and loud. The parking lot is riddled with gigantic speed bumps every 10 feet and when it rains the side walks flood pretty badly. Invest in some galoshes. I felt unsafe walking from the parking lot to my apartment and didn't like leaving my apartment at night. My next door neighbor was hauled off by the police after chasing another tenants guests with a shard of glass and eventually cutting them on the face. There is free cable and trash pick up which is nice but these apartments are cheap for a reason.
