DO NOT RENT FROM La Cordoba Apartments because of deceiptive application and rental practices. Do not even apply to rent with La Cordoba Apartments in Houston Texas. They will steal your money and lie

Like many others we were drawn in by the allure of how well the showroom and tour looked. Of course, they were strategic about showing you only the good parts; once we moved in the allure vanished almost immediately. They pushed back our move-in date three times due to repairs being done on the unit (first flag), and even once we finally moved in, the place was a complete mess. There was paint speckled all over the floor and windows, doors had been painted shut so that they couldn't open anymore, and some had the locking mechanism painted over so they wouldn't close either. On top of that, there were roaches everywhere; in the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and some were even painted into the wall! It was a complete disaster. Furthermore, the stove was faulty and would arc periodically when on, and smoke came out the back when it was in use, making it completely unusable. In the two (two!!) years we spent there they did not fix or replace the stove. Every time we would ask about it they said that they could not find any faults in the device. As for the roach problem, it took them almost 6 months before they did anything about it, and once done they didn't bother with follow-up appointments so they just came back after a few more months. This isn't even to talk about the pool, which has been closed down since we moved in. We maybe got to use it once since we lived there. Our first year there it was almost permanently green with algae, and once they resolved that there were further issues that forced the city to condemn the pool until further notice. It looks nice at least! As for the grounds, they were in a constant state of disrepair and filth. Tenants would leave garbage everywhere, let their dogs roam free and poop wherever (including the sidewalks) and they were very, very noisy. It was not an uncommon occurrence for there to be 4-5 people hanging outside our door late at night chatting up a storm into the late hours with no regard to their neighbors. The parking lot is filled with potholes which they have yet to resolve, and it floods very easily making it difficult sometimes to get access to your vehicle if you were unfortunate enough to park in the wrong area. On that same token, the grounds themselves are also very prone to flooding due to poor drainage systems that overflow within minutes of heavy rain, making it difficult to traverse the grounds without getting your legs soaking wet (water could get up to 8 inches deep in some areas). And the staff, while sometimes helpful, was ultimately useless. When they would even bother to be in the office, they often didn't know what was going on or who you even were. They constantly lost our paperwork (in one instance that was to our favor since they 'forgot' we were living there and didn't send us our new lease notice, so our monthly rent didn't go up), or would forget about maintenance orders we sent in, among other things. It was very unprofessional and I did not feel like I could trust them with taking care of this location. Frankly the only 'good' thing I can think of is the proximity to a police station and other accommodations, though this even is hampered by the near constant construction being done on Dairy Ashford (this isn't necessarily a fault of the complex, but it does make things more difficult for travel). All in all this has been an absolutely abysmal experience. If you are thinking of moving here, with the allure of the beautifully crafted showroom and large pools calling you, DON'T. Take your money someplace else. This place is NOT WORTH IT.

I have been living in apartments my entire life and i have lived here at Vanderbilt Court for a few years now. I've seen managers come n go, but I usually with minimal effect on the overall conditions of the property or general relations with the residents that live there. However, I have to give a review for Ms. Linda because she is different. Everyone is quick to leave a bad review, but most wont take the time to write about the good aspects about a place. Ms. Linda is a one of the greatest aspects of this place. She is a great person, so nice and seemingly genuinely concerned about the property and the residents. She is always attentive to the needs of the residents and because of this I have noticed a sizable difference in the maintenance of the property and the attentiveness to repairs that arise since she became manager...which are a standard thing with any apartment complex. She always has a smile and open to chat with you about anything, even if its not related to an issue regarding the complex. The apartments themselves are a nicely sized and in a great location, being only a few minutes from anything that you would need. The only complaint I have with Vanderbilt court are the pools. We have these big beautiful pools that are very attractive and inviting, but it seems that they are having issues with them. They are needing repairs and I'm assuming this is an issue that goes above Ms. Linda because it was the same issue with the previous managers. Nevertheless, she has the staff work tirelessly on the up keep on them to have the open for the residents as much as possible. All in all, I am happy with this place, especially while Ms. Linda is here and I really hope she stays here because she is one of the main reasons why I renewed my lease. She has a extremely tough job, but you wouldn't know it by talking to her. If you come in to look at a place here and speak with her, you will understand what I mean.

I love this community because of Ms. Linda and also I feel safe when I come and go. Ms.LInda helped me tremendously ,she never put up a fuss and for that i thank god for sending her to me and my kids. We have been living in west chase for 10 years. I work , and my kids are in the school district which also makes it convenient for us. I walked into these apartments after viewing so many with doubts, but Ms. Linda changed it all for me and helped me get into a place right away. She never got frustrated , she never stopped helping me even after i was worried. She was awesome throughout the entire move in process. I love it here , very peaceful , quiet and very convenient to Westheimer. If your looking for a great apartment in Westchase you wont be dissapointed with Vanderbilt court and you will love Ms. Linda!:)

Horrible don't move here. I have been living here for 9 months and hate it. I have had leaking ceilings and windows, power outages, and promises that it will get better. The manager Linda lied and said that they replaced the outside box with a new one and she watched them do it. I went to look and it is the same rusted panel that has been there. My power goes out for hours and they don't care. 3 electricians said the panel needed to be replaced and it still isn't done. Please save yourself, don't move here.

I've been living in this complex for just over one month and I've never been more conned in my life. When I went to see the property, it was beautiful. A well kept complex with two fabulous pools, a beautiful town home as a show unit. But now that I've lived here, I know the truth. The grounds are constantly a mess. Tenants let their dogs crap where ever (including the sidewalks). Tenants litter and will don't clean up after themselves (someone dropped an entire cup of noodles in the middle of the walkway and left it there), the pools are constantly green and not available for use. It's a mess. Then management is no better! It took them two weeks to fix my leaking washer connection! I would call the office and be told the maintenance man "had my work order" but would come home to leaky connections. It was finally fixed after constantly coming into the office and baby sitting the staff until something was done. Now, I've discovered my roof leaks when it rains. Its not just a small drip. I have to put down a plastic tarp, and storage tubs to catch the rain. My ceiling is damaged and I had to unmount my TV from the wall because I'm scared water will leak into it. Over the month, I've put in maintenance requests, sent emails to the office and the corporate office. And no one is doing anything to remedy the situation. I'm looking into either putting my rent into escrow or suing to get my deposit back and break my lease because this is ridiculous. UPDATE: As of July 25, 2017 (nearly a month since I wrote this review) nothing has been done to fix the leak in the ceiling!!! THEY HAVEN'T EVEN HAD SOMEONE CHECK TO SEE IF I HAVE MOLD GROWING. I requested to transfer units, no one responded to that either. I've been in contact with the regional manager of the management company. She's rude, dismissive and trying her best to avoid the situation. I'm looking into how to get out of my lease before I get sick from mold or mildew. DO NOT MOVE HERE. THEY ARE THE WORST!
