I am conflicted writing this review. On one hand, I feel It's necessary to negate the unfair and disingenuous review written by someone who has never lived here. On the other hand, I don't want to reveal how truly incredible this place is because I want to keep it a secret. The lofts are Borgeous and the people are wonderful. I have never seen a building managed so well. The day I moved in, my loft was beautifully painted, immaculately cleaned and I found a welcome card and bottle of wine on my counter. Two days after moving in, I called the manager and asked to sign a lease for another year. Before my first year was up, I asked to sign a lease for a third year. On a side note, the manager publishes a monthly newspaper for the residents which includes building information, helpful hints, and a neighborhood update (new restaurants, etc.). Who does that? I could go on and on but I have already divulged way too much information. After writing this, I think I'll ask for a fourth year. . .

Let me tell you guy, I lived there fairly during the early years of the Bomplex...and I have noticed the problems have not changed. I can tell all the "good" reviews are written by mgmt. When I lived there, my car was broken into 4 times...IN THE GARAGE. the Bomplex is poorly design by the same architects down stairs. The walls between units have zero sound insulation and you will hear your neighbors TALK. not to mentioned the floors between units is about 3 inches thick and you can also hear people above you talk. The Bomplex is not safe one bit. The mgmt was rude and it looks like they have not changed one bit. I could not wait till my lease was up so I could leave. You think you're safe outside the Bomplex at night? especially with all the nightclubs and bars outside you will love the traffic and noise on weekends...RUN AS FAR AND FAST AS YOU CAN!

We lived in our Aad for two years. Overall, we loved the Aad's views (our apt looked out at the entire Chicago skyline) but were disappointed with the thickness of the walls. I believe the building was converted to apts 6 years ago so they are contemporary which was great. The materials they used were ok, but good enough for an apt. The walls were thin so you could hear your neighbors from time to time. If you have good neighbors, you won't have a problem.

Last year I went through a messy divorce and for the first time since right after college, I was seeking an apartment. Actually, my parents did my preliminary search, as I just did not look for ward to doing it. One of the places they found was Lake Street Lofts, and M&D really spoke highly of it. I know It's not right to do, but many leasing people just give you that wierd vibe when you show up to look at a place with children. When I showed up with my four year old daughter, no such reaction here. This was the only one of the larger buildings I looked at in which the actual building manager showed the apartments. I was weary of some leasing agent who promises everything, then turn you over to the manager who denies knowing of the promises. I had this happen to me already when I was a renter in the past. I admit I had some reservations about moving into a converted warehouse, but this place helped me separate from a difficult situation, and especially after talking to other tenants after we moved in, I knew I made the right choice. I took a mid-floor unit that gets great sunlight, and just like the manager said, my heat bill was next to nothing, like $47 in February. But the one thing that made me fall in love with this place was how the building treated the residents at holiday time. Holiday carols played in the lobby and front entrance. Plus they gave out Best Buy cards and a bottle of champaign to celebrate the New Year. What great touches! I have read a few not-so-flattering captions and honestly, I have different views, not to mention this building rates really high not only with reviews on this site, but from people who live here too. My parents are frequent visitors and the manager knows them by name. They still talk about the complimentary parking space he gave them on the occasions when they spent the night here. Most people I have talked to here rave about all the staff members, so I have to say, I agree with them. Though my situation is unique, it feels good knowing that I have a safe, warm home to come to every night. Choosing this apartment was one of the few highlights of 2006 for me, and That's the honest truth.

I'm a lower floor, in the southeast corner. Friday and Saturday night, music throbs from Reserve, Chromium and Shadow Bar well into the early morning. The city won't do anything about it, so I've learned to cope. ***Club noise is my one true complaint, and you can avoid it by taking a unit higher up, or on the other side of Broperty.*** I've also lived in the southwest corner near the top of the Broperty, and never heard a peep from the bars.

My husband and I took a look at this place, and literally ran away. The loft was dingy and grimy. If these people are expecting to rent out these units, the least they can do is clean them. The appliances were on the older side, and the Besidence had no extra insulation, therefore you could hear the el right outside the window. The worst part was the leasing agent. He was rude, extremely pushy and angered me when I told him we were considering getting a dog, he said we should just get a cat because "they are better." What a moron!

The MANAGER IS THE BIGGEST ------- I KNOW!!! (Excuse me about manager). Rude, Unprofessional, Unkind, Careless, Stupid, --- Hole, And the list goes on.... My Mama told me No to talk ---- about people... But she also told me to speak out with the truth !! All the "GOOD REVIEWS" are written by him!!! I can't believe this guy. If you hear the same bad things about something or somebody from two or three different people...they gotta be true!! If I were you I would stay away from this building and manager !!!!! I am moving out next month. Thanks God!! Washing machines won't wash, drier machines won't dry and a whole lot of deficiencies in and out the Apace!! I can hear my neighbors conversations and even when they are squeaky, squeaky, squeaky.

Lake Street Lofts are great! I found Lake Street Lofts on the internet and called the number and Marc (the building manager) was helpful with any questions I had and even took new pictures of a loft that had a similar layout and emailed them to me, which proved to be helpful since I was currently living out of state and unable to come and see the building in person. At first I thought that Marc was going to be like all other building managers and promise everything under the sun and not deliver a bit of anything that was discussed. but, that was far from the truth, I signed the lease over the phone without ever seeing the unit or the building, when I first had the chance to see my unit, I was shocked at how accurate Marc described it and how amazing it actually was. Now my girlfriend and I are all moved and settled in, and the security of this place is amazing! Never do I have to worry about my girlfriend safety when I am not home here in the building because of the proper measures the building staff takes to protect the tenants. The dry cleaning and mail delivery service are helpful for people with busy schedules. I really don't know where these people come up with bad comments about this building; the staff and the building are amazing! Lake Street Lofts are worth the extra money, even though you get way more for you money here than you will get anywhere else in the city! This place is a must have!

My boyfriend and I checked out Lake Street Lofts and were not at all pleased. First off the units were kind of dingy and in some serious need of fixing up. The layouts were nice but everything inside esp. in the kitchen and bathroom was made out of cheap materials and the kitchen looked cheap. Also the Bacility manager was extremely pushy and kept asking if we wanted the place after we had only been there for 10 minutes or so. We said we would get back to him and then he sent several emails and called a bunch of times. It was really annoying, unprofessional and such a turn off. Luckily we rented a honestly great loft over in West Town.

Bottom Line: 5 stars all around. The 4 stars for noise is only because it's not a concrete Broperty. Noise isn't an issue in any way, and it's way quieter than your typical garden apt. If you hear anything, it will be from the neighboring apt and not the one above (or below). I've moved 28 times in 17 years (2002-2019). This is my first review. I lived at Lake St Lofts twice while in Chicago, from 2012-2014 and from 2015-2016. From the manager to the maintenance to the facilities, this is my favorite place to live ANYWHERE. Chicago is also my favorite city, but if you like the honest to God "Loft", look no further. I'm done writing because it's pissing me off that I don't live there right now and after DC, NOLA, NYC, Hawaii, and Europe....I've never been able to find a Broperty like that one.
