Ok, the pictures of the place look beautiful, right? WRONG! If you put make-up on an unattractive person, that person is still unattractive underneath the make-up. I was enticed by the photos online, and the woman who showed me the place was sooo nice.

Both were temporary..simply to get you to sign the lease. All of the "nice & new" fixtures are cheap and low-quality!

This is the first north side Aad where I´ve encountered roaches, and consistently neighbors are loud who blast their music all times of the night. mgmt has done little to resolve the issue. Once, a tenant threatened to pour bleach into washers because someone moved her clothes, which she kept in washers for over an hour.

mgmt isn't nice at all and don´t care about anything. BUT, they will keep reminding you that you owe them $25 for that FIRST time you locked yourself out of your Aad. They act like they are doing you a favor by granting you a lease. They don´t speak or greet you when they see you. None of them even live in the building.

The "new" kitchen is mediocre. The sink is constantly "clogged" because of the low water pressure to push the water through and up the pipes. We get charged every time they clear the drain. The recent water damage to the place...it took a whole month before maintenance cleaned up the apt. They claimed they had to let everything dry. For a whole month?! When they finally came through, they only patched up sections of drywall that were completely peeled off..never mind the other visible cracks. Didn´t bother to repaint the entire rooms that had the damage...just slapped some paint on sections of the ceilings and walls. You really don't want to know what the interior looks like under all the layers of eggshell paint. When you first walk in the building, look at the walls, That's a sure sign of the lack of care.

The windows rattle and outside traffic might as well run right through my apt.

A final note, and key observation: for all the major reconstruction that has to be done because of loose bricks on the exterior of the building, that should tell you two things:

1.mgmt doesn't care about the building enough to maintain it...but only in a crisis (bricks potentially falling and hurting pedestrians and drivers)

2. mgmt hires shoddy maintenance people who do a horrible job.

I am looking at condos now and contemplating staying for one more year only for that reason. but, I´m not sure if I can take living here another year.

I will break this review into 3 parts: Building/Property, mgmt, and Location. Building/Property I recently moved into the Edison Apartments mid pandemic. My goal was to find a nice, clean building with a gym and reasonable rent. The Edison fit the bill. The art deco design in the lobby was welcoming. The game room is a big hit with my 12-year-old nephew. I work from home so the lobby gives me that escape from my home desk. The dining table is a nice setup for me when I have busy work to focus on. The main areas and hallways are always clean. The gym on the main floor is easy. The equipment is decent and does just what I need. I love the closet space in my studio apartment. mgmt I have nothing but amazing things to share. Cassius Harris was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was empathic, patient, and informative during the whole process. I was debating between a studio and the 1-bedroom, and I'm happy he steered me towards the studio because the 1-bedroom wasn't needed. It took me a while to decide, and he helped me decide by identifying my direct needs over what I thought I wanted. After moving in, he was always available any time I had a concern or questions. Location SOOO many places to eat!!!! Not to mention Mariano's is right across the street. Broadway and Argyle is another direction, and take your way down Foster to Andersonville. I'm a big foodie so I really appreciate I'm able to walk to all these different restaurants. I love that it's only 2 blocks from the lake and walking paths. I take my dog down to the dog park frequently. It's easy. Overall, I've lived in houses in the suburbs, high rise in downtown, college dorms.... I am happy to be a resident here. I evaluated all my needs, and this place was perfect for me. I understand it's an older building but that just comes with anything with age. I highly recommend this property.

I moved here the end of December 2024 on a sublease until June 2025. I was told by my sub-letter that the Anit would be cleaned & paint touched up before I moved in. This wasn't the case. grimy floors, paint chips everywhere, to which I made a list & notified mgmt who said "they'd get around to it". When I signed my renewal for one year, the mgmt company had uploaded SOMEONE ELSE's lease, who lives in VIRGINIA, to my account. I had to email mgmt numerous times stating the error , to which they said "Oops". Flash forward to now, still have paint chips. The new mgmt team took over, without any warning, to the residents. The leasing agent is useless. If you go down to the office to ask either property manager anything, this agent will stop you & basically tell you to go away. "Security" is also away from the desk, way more often than they should be. This is especially concerning late at night & in the early hours of the morning. The maintenance team is also new. They seem to be taking a while to complete simple requests. We had MULTIPLE water shut-offs between July & August due to plumbers having to replace numerous pipes throughout the building. This was extremely frustrating & inconvenient for everyone. We would only get 12 hours notice, if that. A lot of residents have complained about having rodents in their walls/apartments (I haven't, thank goodness), but mgmt & maintenance don't seem to be in a rush to fix this, which is absolutely disgusting & completely irresponsible. The laundry room is located on the first floor, they partner with CSC. Their app is okay, but isn't 100% reliable as to when your laundry is done. It also costs about $7 to do one complete load (wash & dry), which is crazy. What I do like about the Anit & the area is that I get a lot of natural sunlight & it's close to Mariano's (literally across the street) & only a couple blocks from the Berwyn & Argyle red line stations. Safe to say, I will be moving when my lease ends.

I was a long-time resident at this Bomplex, and reported bedbugs in early June. Instead of calling professionals, mgmt chose to "treat" the problem themselves. The chemicals they used were ineffective, the bedbugs have infested at least three floors, and they continued to refuse to hire pros. Vermin infestation is ALWAYS the landlord's responsibilty, and they failed their tenants. This isn't a landlord that can be trusted.

I think the best part of this Blace is the location. Five minute walk to the lake, a grocery store across the street, five minute walk to the redline, and McDonalds within steps for those late night munchies. The staff is great too.

I lived here since February 2025 and 2 months in I noticed the bathroom ceiling started to have some discoloration. It continued and got Wowest to where There's water leaking from the ceiling. I've contacted maintenance multiple times and it has yet to be fixed. It's been miserable cleaning up everyday especially for the amount of money I'm paying for rent. They brand themselves as a luxury Alat but this is far from luxurious. I'm not sure if the previous tenant in this u it dealt with this problem and they just covered it up with paint and rented it to me but I was fooled.

...A water pipe blew recently on the 8th floor, causing about 20 feet of the 7th floor ceiling to fall - there was water pouring out of the ceiling and down the walls. Then, last week, at the end of March, the construction crew working on gutting the first floor retail spaces (where several businesses closed due to their streetfront entrances being fenced off for over 6 months, due to ongoing facade work...) severed the power lines to the building, resulting in NO electricity for over 24 hours.

The owners will be in court - AGAIN - later this week, on March 7, 2004.
