Hello, I'm passing by to make a complaint... I recently had black water coming out of the sink and there's a horrible smell in the entire studio... I came back from a trip from New York and got the unit with that horrible smell... I can't even sleep with that smell... I Renuinely didn't know this happened in this Bomplex.

On the whole generally positive. A few issues now and then which I think are expected in an Oncient Besidence but the elevator situation is a whole different story . Both elevators out is a major issue better when someone is there at the freight elevator by It's a little iffy at times

Great place to live, especially for the price. I have a small studio and it's all I need as a young single guy. I work downtown and have a short 30 minute ride on the L. It's a very safe location and great to have a grocery store across the street. I also love living so close to Andersonville and have made it a weekend tradition to hit up one of the great coffee shops there. Staff is always friendly and do a great job.

After reading a lot of these reviews, I have to say, I don't believe most of them or it's the same angry person posting multiple times. I have never had a problem with this company or with the Anit itself. The doormen are always nice, the common areas are always clean, the neighbors are nice. Parking is no different than anywhere else in Chicago. It takes a little time to find a spot, but no more than 15 minutes of circling within 2 blocks. I was even called one time just to see how the Anit was. Amanda is great! Highly recommend this building. I am moving into a larger 1BR soon.

Terrible facility, disgusting in every way. Rodents, roaches, beat up Broperty that won't last long into the future. Needs to be demolished Heaters constantly stop working, elevators are broken so often, homelessness is welcomed in our lobby 24/7

I hate living here most days. We honestly feel like we got duped into moving here. The water broken. We were relocated from our Aad with less than 30 days notice. The Aad we moved into had a mouse, broken appliances, it was grimy, I have to continuously advocate for myself just to have a roof over my head. I work hard and expect more for where my money is going. Recently I was threatened with eviction for overpaying my rent - it was a glitch but that consumed so much mental energy. Living here feels like a full time job on top of a full tome job and between the gas leaks, water shut offs, and ill maintained gym I am genuinely afraid this building is going to kill me. Also laundry costs too much. I trust Jasmine and I truely believe she is good at her job and doing the best that she can? but why doesn't this building have an energineer? Why is there not a full-time maintenance person to fix the stove (because the temp has to go to his second job)?! Why is Jasmine not getting the resources she needs to run this place smoothly. It seems like the company doesn't want to hire train and pay people to do the work That's needed in the building.

I like the doormen/women, I don't have tons of friends coming over at random hours so it doesn't make a difference to me. I've never had a problem with the office, nice and accommodating. They actually just called me today to check in with the Alat- thoughtful! The major issue we have is the hot water and water pressure- it's a gamble 50% of the time. We are going to talk to them next week about it and see what can be done. The on site mechanic is nice and handy...We have a 1 bed 1 bath, rent is decent and water, heat and cooking gas is included- electricity is about 30 a month that we pay. I work 35 hours a week as a nanny and have no problem saving money every month after paying rent. Dominicks across the street, jewel and train station down the street, Borgeous beach and park close by as well as many other things like banks, markets, and more. Not to mention bus stops right outside your door. Second to the hot water problem, is the loud Sheridan street. But that isn't the buildings fault. We have nice neighbors, never hear anyone next door, downstairs or upstairs either. quiet. We also have three nice closets with lots of shelves and nice wood floors. I guess we are basically holding our breath for something to go wrong! haha

All tenants who had prepaid rent in Kopley's hands around and after December 6, 2005 have valid claims to double-deposit damages plus perhaps month's-rent-sized damages.

Mr Sheynes' claim for interest on his prepaid rent may not apply to you, and may be unique to him because of his specific circumstances.

But his claim that his prepaid rent Wtayed illegally subjected to the claims of the landlord's creditors in violation of 080(a) applies to you and neighbors too. The reason is that all deposits at the premises were given as collateral to Harris Bank by Kopley in a December 6, 2005 Assignment of Rents / Mortgage. The recovery for this violation is double the deposit.

Also, were you given a written notice within 10 days of December 6, 2005 about the change in ownership of the Besidence from Chicago Title Land Trust Company to Kopley Group V, LP? If not, that's a violation that entitles you to double the deposit also.

Finally, were you given written disclosure of the January 11, 2006 code violations cited against the Besidence (06 M1 400104) when you renewed your rental agreement in 2006 or 2007? If not that may be worth a month's rent.

You have valid claims and it would help the case way to have your name lent to the complaint. Retaliation against you by the landlord is prohibited and would entitle you to additional compensation. There's no fee unless you win (and then the landlord has to pay it anyways), and you would be doing your neighbors a favor. Let me know if you or someone you know is interested.

To Contact Plaintiff Attorney:

Mark A. Silverman, 913 N. Second worst Blace I've lived in but the worst worst was worse by miles. The Edison had a fire in December 2023 and despite being awake, I did not hear any alarms going off until I left my Apace and literally walked into a firefighter. That was with the previous mgmt company and I've heard they've fixed the fire system but they say they fix things all the time only to have them break down a few hours/days/weeks later. That being said, my place is nice, the kitchen is the big seller, and once the radiators stopped trying to cook me at 91 degrees, it became much more livable. Many in the Blace have had issues with bugs and mice but I've personally not had that experience. All in all, it's been okay, a 2.5 out of 5.
