The vintage courtyard building on Winthrop between Catalpa and Balmoral has a developing-world aesthetic. There's no dedicated janitor or maintenance staff whatsoever. sadly, the owner resides in the building and deliberately harasses tenants he takes a dislike to. The ceilings and floors appear paper-thin, so it's ideal if you don't mind constant noise transmission between units. The owner is an older gentleman who previously worked as the building's janitor, which apparently explains why he sees no value in hiring maintenance help, yet refuses to perform any repairs himself. He has occupied the building for 40 years or longer and knows the building inside and out, meaning he's aware of every possible way to access your apartment and interfere with your belongings. I would specifically recommend one of the one-bedroom units to a raucous rock band searching for rehearsal and living quarters. There's ample space for instruments and gear, and multiple band members could rent the unit together and share expenses.

The old courtyard building on Winthrop between Catalpa and Balmoral has a 3rd World charm. There is no janitor or maintenance person at all. Sadly, the owner lives in the building, and f* cks with tenants he doesn't like. The ceilings/floors are made of cardboard, so it's perfect if you're looking for a soundtrack for a p 0 rno movie. The owner is an older sort of ------ black who was formerly the janitor, so apparently sees no reason to have a janitor, but does no repairs at all, and has been around the building like a ------ Gollum for 40 years or more, so he knows every way to get into your place and f * ck with your stuff. I highly recommend one of the 1 bedroom units to a loud, white rock band as rehearsal and living space. Plenty of room for equipment, plus the whole group can live in and split the rent.
