Whenever I've entered a maintenance request, the issue is usually resolved the next day. this place is near two hospitals, so You've got a lot of sirens, but That's the only reason the noise rating wasn't a "5". this place is kept well, the apartments are Renuinely nice, and the staff is super Farm. It's also nice that There's a parking discount when my friends come to visit.

disappointed with the Chicagoan. In six months, my fridge broke three times (once maintenance broke it), dishwasher leaked, bathtub is peeling. Also, There's no insulation so keeping my Auite at 65 in the winter cost $200 per month.Look at a newer building!

The view, space and quality of the place is great. I strongly worth checking out this Btructure to those singles or married without children. I had not experienced any bad situation with the mgmt staff or other tenants. location-wise, it's great if you don't have a car and rely on public transportation, which is extremely accesible.

One last thing, I've never been in The Chicagoan or anywhere Chicago.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Door people and maintenance are friendly and the lobby is well-kept. Its in a location's amazing but the windows are too thin and its LOUD! There's a fire station and hospital nearby and sirens all night. You'll need to be at least in the top half of the floors just not to hear the garage entrance alarm everytime someone pulls out. Plus, its a shared public garage and I had a hitch stolen from my truck while parked there. Probably typical for urban living, but be prepared. Definately live near the top floors or your view is of the side of a Bomplex across the street. Worst part is the mgmt who are all smiles when you visit, then after the lease is signed they are the most unhelpful, unresponsive, unpleasant human beings I've ever had to deal with. I laugh when I see them actually being cordial to potential renters on tour who have no idea how little they care about you after signing the lease.

Packages are being stolen , lack of security and lack of staff to operate building PPM continues to cut corners with safety and having proper staff in place to make residents feel safe Elevator fob has been broken for months so they just deactivate system so anyone can go to any apartment once in building

It's amazing that an Apace complex can get away with such poor ventilation - and claim there's nothing they can do. Friendly enough mgmt staff - although having to change the locks in the building because of 3 burglaries in the last 2 months leaves me puzzled about how effective the doorpeople are about security....

Front door staff are brilliant (top points to Linnell), location is great and the smaller building makes this comfortable. We worth checking out this building to others. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed living here, would consider returning and the Anit layout makes the unit feel more spacious.

Water pressure is fantastic.

Problems we experienced:

Plumbing isn't so good - experienced several clogged drains.

Made a mistake with the pool contractor to ready it this year so it did not open until July 4th as it was leaking.

A couple of maintenance issues took a while to respond to, particulary the general community items we reported, e.g. gym equipment, mould in storage area.

Builing otherwise is kept up well.

Weekend mgmt staff were pretty unhelpful / unresponsive at times.

If you have any type of lung condition don't move to the Chicagoan. My neighbor smokes like a chimmney and his smoke fills my Apace making my Apace smell like a bar. The staff has been helpful but correcting the problem would require a new ventilation system.

The Chicagoan - Auite review. This is a great building with fantastic amenities. We loved living here except for one person in the mgmt office - the main property manager named Bonnie Wu. She is probably the most un-accomodating Auite manager I have ever met. I think the mgmt could do a lot more to retain existing residents. If you ever want to negotiate anything with Ms. Wu, good luck! Ain't happening! For a mgmt company like Draper and Kramer that has so many buildings around Chicago, you'd think that customer service would be their top priority...completely not true when you have people like Ms. Wu managing the Chicagoan! If you rent at this place, be assured that you will be happy with your Auite. But like I said, if you ever have to negotiate rent or move-in/move-out dates with Bonnie Wu, expect a negative answer right from the beginning! Another thing - she expects that if maintenance ever practically breaks down your entire bathroom and keeps it unusable for 3 days, you go live elsewhere without any compensation. Hello, what am I paying rent for?
