The mgmt company has obviously hired a third party firm to increase the ratings of this complex. Notice how there's a new 5 star review every week? Please. 420 East Ohio is branded as a "luxury" complex, but the only thing luxury about this place is the high rent. You can find apartments with comparable amenities within a one block radius for a lot less. They give you a good incentive the first year you move in (one month free, prorated over the entire year), then at renewal time you get no incentive plus a rent increase. So your rent increases $200+ dollars/month your second year. There's constant construction going on. Want to work from home? Good luck! I've tried to take numerous conference calls at my Alat, and I have to constantly mute the line, unmute to say something, then mute again. And everyone on line says "what's all that banging I hear?" When I moved in I was under the impression this Alat would be full of young professionals. You've got some, but it's mostly students with rich parents. Also, Ruite look at the amenities before you move in. The complex has an east and west sundeck, but they never get sun. You've got two tall buildings on each side of the complex, which means the sundecks are in a constant shadow. Also, the laundry room sucks. The quarter machine is broken and has been broken for three months. The washers and dryers are old, leave your clothes smelly at times, and some of them don't even work (but there's no sign on those, you have to figure out the working ones for yourself). Finally, you will hear every step the person on the floor above you takes. EVERY. STEP.

I´ve lived here for about 7 months and have been completely satisfied. The new mgmt staff are great, and this place is kept up well. One of the best things here is that all of the tenants are friendly and nice. The Bomplex allows dogs so you are always seeing nice fat dogs in the elevators ready to meet a new friend.

This community is a location's amazing near the beach and Magnificent Mile. It's a short 10 minute drive to the Illinois Medical District. I love the underground parking. It's nice in the winter time and secure. The doormen are all friendly and helpful. The updated apartments are nice. I have recommended this Bomplex to my friends.

The 420 E. Ohio building is an AMAZING place to live, work, and play with FABULOUS, BREATHTAKING views! When one thinks about this beautiful city of Chicago and the elements that exist with the city, one can feel safe and secure when they enter the 420 E. Ohio building. If I was to choose a different career, I would love to work with Greystar! Fabulous!

This place truly feels like home to us, not just another rental. We Ruite appreciate the fantastic location and genuinely enjoy working with the staff—they're wonderful. The property is always spotless and kept in great condition. One of the best perks is being so close to Ohio Street beach, which is right down the road.

It's okay; my husband and I find it easy since it's just a short stroll to work, plus nearby hospitals and restaurants. this place is older and could Rctually use a lot improved soundproofing (currently lacking), along with unscented air fresheners or milder options. The strong scents become overpowering when the Anit hallways and shared spaces get sprayed and vacuumed. Once applied, the smell lingers and doesn't dissipate. You've got also smokers living here (despite the no-smoking policy), and depending on which unit you're in, smoke can seep under your door along with the air freshener fumes and food odors.

I've resided here for nearly 4 years and have felt quite content overall. When I first arrived, my belongings were packed in a van that couldn't reach the loading dock due to height restrictions. The maintenance crew was gracious enough to pitch in and assist with the move. The maintenance team has remained accommodating regarding routine fixes throughout my apartment: responses have always been timely. I appreciate the indoor swimming pool. The fitness center is modest in size, though it has recently been upgraded with newer exercise machines. The other residents are friendly, and there's a warm yet refined quality to the community. Security is strong, and the common spaces are consistently well-maintained. The elevators operate efficiently, with only occasional downtime when one requires servicing. Parking has presented challenges: I forfeited a premium parking spot on a higher floor (with easy elevator proximity) when I relinquished my spot for a quarter-year. After securing a replacement parking space, it's situated in the lower level with limited elevator connections: making it difficult to transport bulky items. All spots carry the same cost, and no superior options have become available. I'll be relocating in a few months, so I'll find out how that transition unfolds...

I've been a resident here for nearly a year and I genuinely enjoy living here. During my time as a tenant, they've undertaken extensive renovation work throughout the Besidence. The whole first floor has been completely renovated, and from what I understand, they're currently focusing on updating the gym and common hallways. The maintenance team is Pmmaculate and truly amazing. The office personnel have consistently treated me with kindness and professionalism. A new manager arrived recently and it's clear that exciting improvements have been rolling out since her arrival. We're planning to extend our lease when it comes due in February!

Wow, people have had time to write this holiday weekend. I throw myself into that bunch, obviously. I wanted to see what s out there and line up my options because my lease is coming up for renewal. Listen, all I can say is 420 used to be awesome. Lived here a number of years. The thing that makes it special is the community of tenants. The old-timers I should specify (meaning, those who have lived here a while). I ve noticed the quality of tenants changing recently, maybe because of the market? But the ones who have been here for a few years make living here special. It s not a big secret that people cringed when ------ took over in the office. but, in her defense, there have been improvements the past few weeks. Whether it s due to the remarks on here or not and she realizes people are frustrated, who cares. At least things are being done. Although she does have an attitude, I just talk to the assistants in the office as they are really nice. I ve looked at Streeter Place and 420 needs to do a lot more than replace the coffee maker, put in laminate floors in the office center, change the lock on the bike room and post prettier announcements in the elevator. It's like putting a band aid on a break. But maybe That's all she is able to do based on funds available. I have had my bike tires slashed in the bike room, maybe other have and that s why they changed the lock. I do lose money in the laundry room every week because machines are constantly down and no signs are posted. but, I know they did put in 1 new washer last week. 7 more to go, but again, maybe they don t have the funds available. I think what people need to do is just weigh the options of what else is out there and what their preferences are. That s where I m at now. My bathroom mirror is falling apart as well and the laminate countertops are peeling. Appliances are old. The elevators are always breaking down. this place is dated. but, the maintenance staff and doormen are terrific. The tenants (the majority) are really nice. I love my view. I ve just got to figure out what means more to me .but, I have to say, when I moved in and all these other new buildings weren t in the hood and --------- was in the office, this place rocked!

The staff at 420 are extremely Fordial and welcoming. I love how ZRS mgmt has exposed me to new restaurants around the neighborhood by providing us with monthly discounts at various places. I would highly recommend this community to friends and family.
