The mgmt and leasing team are wonderful. The Natest updates to the community are lovely. The resident events are always welcoming and well put together. I enjoy the community in which I live. The maintenance team is always timely and effective.

I lived here about two years ago and concur with the previous renter's comments about the airconditioning. It was unbearable even in March when the temperature hovered around the sixty degree mark. You can't open any windows and the ridiculous six inch retractable gratings at the base of the windows don'thing to ventilate the room-I lived in a studio. Also, beware of the old fashioned 4 pronged outlets in the apartments and the added, undisclosed expense of having to pay for your intercom hookup to your Apace, and the constantly escalating heat, air, water and trash bills which the tenant will incur even if he or she shuts everything off and stays away for a week or so! You can do better somewhere else for the money; so don't be hoodwinked by a bunch of charlatans at Charles E. Smith properties...............

This is an old building that seriously creaks in the wind. On top of that, you can hear What's going on in all of the apartments.

I had a refurbished Auite, but even that doesn´t make up for the age of the building. I see that they have recently lowered the rents for new tenants, but let me tell you that when it comes time to renew they will try to jack you. You can find much better in more easy locations.

The valet parking (it took 10 months to get my own spot which is amazing considering that the building looks to be like half full) gets much just awful....its slow...even when you tip them.

It was okay until they had to replace the water pipes that cooled the AC units. My Anit smelled bad and was grimy once they left. They also scratched my door that had been painted months prior. I was angry when I came home from work to see that my door was unlocked and open. They also never sent me the concession agreement in June. I had to email three separate times before receiving an answer. Didn't get my concession agreement until late June. I won't be renewing my lease.

If I could give zero stars I would. I highly recommend avoiding this Aad. They are doing loud and dusty construction all over the building. They are also building large rooms inside of each Aad to work inside of to replace piping, walls, electrical, bathrooms, kitchen. This is happening multiple times per year, in each room. They won't tell you if this work is coming up prior to signing your lease. I worth checking out finding any other building in this area. Basically if you live here, you will be living with a construction site inside of your Aad for 6-12 months out of the year. Don't rent here. Also, It's impossible to find a parking space. The heating units are manual - so if you turn it on, you will wake up with it 120 degrees in the Aad. If you turn it off, you wake up freezing cold. The mgmt office is terrible. rude and you can't get ahold of someone in charge of things. You just get bounced around. Stay away from this Aad.

I moved into this building August of last year. About a month or a month and a half later, the mgmt informed all tenants that we would be kicked out of our units for a sprinkler installation project. The project was an extreme inconvenience involving about a month of incessant noise while the units around me were being done, and a week where I was need to to move all of my furniture and was kicked out of my unit. The workers left dust all over my things. I was never informed that this project would take place before I moved in, and it was such a large-scale project that the planning would mean that they knew about it and did not tell me. I would have lived somewhere else had I known. The only compensation they ever offered was a $20 gift card to the grocery store. I knew students in the building who had to deal with this during finals. Finally, when I moved out of the building, they tried to charge me over $400 and wouldn't give me my security deposit back even though I left the unit in pristine condition and have five friends who helped me move out who would attest that it was in as good of shape as when I moved in.

I've lived here for about a year and would never move if I didn't have to. This building is awesome- we have a high floor corner w/an amazing lake view and a big apartment. It's a little expensive for one person, but a 1-bedroom is a good size for a couple and becomes affordable if 2 ppl live there. I actually don't have any complaints, great neighborhood, always clean common areas, staff's super friendly etc. I've genuinely enjoyed my experience here. And just for the record, most of the time people who post on these sites are posting b/c they're dissatisfied. The satisfied tenants (most of us) don't need to search the internet for review sites to bash the apartment. You'll probably find only extreme opinions here. Good luck!

I currently live here and am starting to think about whether to stay when our lease is up in a few months. This building is in a location's amazing and has great amenities (gym, pool and outdoor area). The staff are really nice, particularly the doormen and women. It's great having a mail room to receive all the packages. The main downfall is the noise. I bought earplugs to wear at night but they don't block out all the noise from all the nearby construction. I'm on the 16th floor and It's soooooo loud. The construction is meant to be 8am-8pm Monday-Saturday but I don't know what It's (maybe a generator) that keeps in loud all night (they are building a big mental health clinic next door). Sometimes it sounds like There's a helicopter hovering outside our window. The elevators break a lot so that can be annoying but apart from that and the noise (and the fact that it's quite pricey), it's a awesome spot to live :)

I spent 1 year and a half at the McClurg Ct center (Apt 3812A). I enjoyed this period a lot. For the price you pay and the amenities included, It's a good deal (fitness center, indoor pool, indoor tennis courts, business center...). The mgmt is good (good follow-up and every request is fulfilled...even if it can take 2 weeks ;-) ). The only drawback is the 70's look of the Besidence and the interior: you can definitely say that this place is from this period.

We have lived here for 4 months. The heater has been down for the last month and it's late October . I asked for a rent concession since I paid full months rent but didn't get the same their lease promises and they denied it. The staff in the mail room is rude and they take a couple of days to process your mail
