My experience at McClurg can be summed up as follows: nice gym; absolutely horrific mgmt. Currently this place is under major construction, which is insanely loud if you live on a low floor. mgmt doesn't care whatsoever about residents, and has managed the outrageously intrusive construction with all the transparency of the Secret Service. To top it off, my rent rose by a rate roughly 2.5 times inflation. UGH! I am incredibly frustrated with this awful mgmt. If you care at all about quiet in your Auite, and/or having a responsive mgmt staff, I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere. UPDATE: It's 1:30 a.m. and CONSTRUCTION IS GOING ON NOW. Sleep is impossible. I can't imagine a worse managerial staff. Also, cockroaches. I've killed a dozen in the past six months. $1600 a month. Unspeakably bad.

I've lived in the "A" tower 8 years.
I have lived all over Chicago and the suburbs. There's no better rental Broperty downtown than McClurg Ct. center.
The cleanliness, superior maintenance staff, reliable office staff, and asst. mgr. Larry, make this a luxury Broperty well worth the rent.

I lived at Arrive for 2 years, and while everything looks fine at first, once you sign the lease the problems begin. The biggest issue I faced was with packages many of mine went missing, and the process of trying to recover them was incredibly frustrating. The front desk was often dismissive, and the receiving room staff were even less helpful. Instead of assisting residents, they frequently made the situation worse. It’s disappointing because the property itself looks nice on the surface, but the management and staff support do not match the expectations set when signing the lease. Communication is poor, and there’s little accountability when problems arise. If reliable service, professionalism, and secure package handling matter to you, I would strongly reconsider before choosing this place.

Going down the list of ratings: Noise: It's downtown ;s going to be Leafening. Grounds: Something is ALWAYS broken; more often than not it's the elevators. There's always construction, and the corner apartments have had construction and workers looking into their rooms for the past 6 months. While I understand that maintenance is natural, the frequency of elevators being down or heat/AC not being switched at the right time is unnatural. plus, other buildings around the neighborhood offer discounts on months in which equipment is unusable. McClurg doesn't do this. Safety: To be honest, I don't know what the security guards do for their job. They are always on their phone or have their friends talking to them. I'm pretty sure they are just there to be seen. plus, ground floor doors are always propped open, even though it should be policy that doors should remain closed at all times. Neighborhood: Everything is centered around Michigan Ave. Definitely prefer River North in all aspects. Maintenance: The maintenance team is the only shining light in this Besidence. Fantastic team. Staff: Not much interaction with the staff.

Overall this is a steal! First of all, I don't work for the Bacility, I am a resident. No. I am not a bot or a company that was asked to write a review....I live in Streeterville. Don't believe me? K, they have great wings at Timothy O'Toole's and West Egg will give you priority seating because you are a local. OK! McClurg is a nice property for its age with some GREAT plusses for the area. My unit's got a view of the city and lake, matter of fact, I can look out my kitchen window and pear all the way down to Roger's Park! What really makes the space special is the cool door staff That's always welcoming and the mgmt staff That's definetly over worked! These poor folks have to field calls and deal with issues for residents that are not even their responsibilities. I would like to say, after reading the bad reviews I bet you $100 bucks that the folks that are complaining about mgmt ARE the problem. (Pay your rent and bills on time and they won't get mad at you...loosers!) I like the gym and the equipment is decent overall but, the best part is the amazing TENNIS COURTS...YES! You've got three tennis courts INDOORS! (Kinda sounds like a pitch, but every time somebody visits...I HAVE to show the courts!) I don't even play tennis all that well. The pool is indoors as well with staff on hand to keep it neat and clean....You've got lockers, a dance studio and free weights to boot! I could go on and on for hours about my experiences here but, I really don't wanna tie you up to much of your time as You've got other things to do today. Take a few minutes, tour the place and learn some of the great features they have to offer here. the mgmt staff is good and they do what they can to accommodate the needs of the folks here. What it all comes down to is this, It's a decent place to live, amazing staff working hard, and a location's amazing. Local stuff: Timothy O'Toole's, Yolk, AMC Theater, Michigan Ave., Navy Pier, and other great eateries that are fast too! (Chipotle, Burrito Beach, Jimmy Johns and Dao Thai)

This place is nice and spotless and has all the amenities that the other buildings do in the same area, but they try really hard to make you think that they are better, which they are not, they're really the same. They'll get you in at a low price and the following year they will try to raise your rent by 200-300 per MONTH!!! So beware. It's happening to almost everybody in the Btructure right now. Once they get above 100 per month, then you are better off moving somewhere else because moving usually entails an overlap of half a month of rent plus the cost and inconvenience of moving, which for me falls at about 1000. Good luck with your search!

Treadful service and decision-making from the mgmt team. Not once in my entire year of living here were all three elevators working at the same time. In addition, the indoor amenities (cyber cafe and study area) were under construction for all of winter, and the outdoor deck and patio were under construction all of spring and summer. No refund or accommodation of rent was made for any of these amenities lack of availability. Finally, throughout all of the construction, the construction teams used all the elevators (freight and non-freight) for their equipment and made it extremely difficult for residents to move out because the construction equipment was permanently parked in the loading dock (regardless of whether the 2-3 sporadic construction workers were present or not).

You´ll find that the mgmt here is completely unwillingly to do anything but keep you talking to the flunkies who answer the phones. The concierge was dismissed--without the tenants knowing ; the 24 hour security was dismiised--without the tenants knowing; the elevators never work--and the tenants know this one.
The Prea is hideous. And it´s turning into a dorm for Northwestern students.

Door staff 9/10 - one of the saving graces of the Broperty Office staff 5/10 - more accountability greatly needed. The parking, the cable, this and that, it's always call someone else. Is it in your Broperty? If yes, then while you may not be contractually obligated, it's still your responsibility. Why so much push back and attitude? Elevators 5/10 - modernized recently, seriously, needs better dispatch software Laundry room 4/10 - water over the floor half the time I do laundry Package pick up 7/10 - The message system is working then not then working again then not. Also, let the office staff the ability to text residents when a package arrived has been something that's worked on and off for several years. Fitness/pool 9/10 Recreation areas in and outside 9/10 On going remodeling that shows no end in sight 5/10 - speaking with others here longer than me, it's been ongoing for 4-6 year, get it done!

Office staff friendly and competent. Maintenance handled immediately. Btructure is clean. Not all Front desk personnel not helpful or friendly. Some are distracted or annoyed when approached with basic new move in type of questions. Additional training of front desk personnel might be helpful. The office staff is competent and legit, but.
