You'd be crazy to take a unit in this place. I lived in the building for years. It was easy to see the year Charles E Smith was trying to sell. They stopped spending money on the place to drive up the sale price. The went to washing the exterior windows only TWICE a year amongst the obvious numerous other area's that they went to the cheap on including the almost never operating frieght elevators, etc. The only selling point was the view and when they got too cheap to wash the windows that seeling went to being an eyesore. Then of course came the concept of "pass through utilities" came. No, you don't get changed for how much you use your gas or similar. You get a piece of percentage of what the buildings charge whether you use it or not. Crazy concept that nobody understood to explain to you. This concept also would lead to only one thing. Excessive use of the utility because if you're going to be charged a piece, you better use as much as you can to get your money worth. Any real quesions by the mgmt company when and if they got back to you were lame excuses. Why they have building mgmt is silly because they are completely useless. Shame because doorman, security, even the little lady in the receiving room were as friendly and can be. I couldn't wait for my lease to expire to leave, RMK is horrible. The building has become a run down, poorly manaaged, dump for the benefit of a greedy landlord with a shut up and take it or leave mentality. Every person I knew that lived in the building and by reading these other reviews couldn't be more accurate...by getting out as fast as they were able to.

Why? because I just had a unpleasant experience with the same mgmt office that everyone else here is complaining about so vociferously. And in that complaint I informed them of this exact website address and all the complaints found herein. So, if they didnýt know about this site before, *they do now!*

And, in a 13 page written complaint that I just dropped off at the mgmt office (where I inform them that the next step will be legal action if necessary regarding my particular complaint-really a particularly minor but particularly tacky, petty matter that just INSULTED me to no end), I printed out the main complaint page of this website so that they know that it exists and so that they realize how badly they can suck (at least at times) and therefore IMPROVE.

I have seen employees of companies rated poorly at other rating type sites post false "positive" ratings (especially sales employees).

Therefore, view positive postings from this date henceforth with a jaundiced eye...

PS Yes, itýs obvious that the "MCC is the place to be" note was written by Blace managment. but, you should realize that *most* and *nearly all* that which is written here is absolutely true, both the good and the bad, even large parts of the "MCC is the place to be" note. MCC *does* have all of the neat amenities noted in that note from mgmt which is the main reason why I moved here despite having read this site *before* I moved in seven months ago. The elevators are as bad or even WORSE than described in these notes. 70% of the time only 2 of 3 elevators are working; and 30% of the time only 1 of 3 are working. And with the young crowd that lives here (Iým not an old fogie, 40) going in and out socially and across the street to Northwesternýs law and medical schools constantly, this place has to have all 3 elevators working constantly for there to be much hope.

But, on a bright note, most of the door people and the receiving people are absolute delights, as others have noted.

I adore Margie the elderly woman in receiving. I wish I could fire the people in the mgmt office and replace them with her. Her wisdom/years of experience in working with the public thru the magic of "the milk of human kindness and grace" would do well to rub off on the "young whipper snappers" in the mgmt office that donýt have the first clue figured out yet when it comes to interfacing with their *own* customers.

Believe about 95% of what you see written here thus far thru 3.26.04 both good and bad. And then consider the fact that probably 1/100th of 1% of all the people that have ever lived at McClurg even know that this website even exists and wonder how much more of an earful you would get if even 10% did...

When I initially moved in and the Bacility ownership was under McClurg Court, I had a lovely experience living here and intended to renew my lease for years. The nice living experience I was enjoying abruptly stopped as soon as Trinity Property mgmt/Arrive took over and showed complete neglect for their residents.

Our place is a great space with an amazing view. You can´t beat the closet space either.

but, the mgmt has serious problems. The elevators are a disaster. The valet parking is terrible and we´re STILL on the waiting list for an assigned spot after more than a year. The kicker for us though was their complete refusal to turn on the heat last winter. Despite city ordinances, they did not turn on the heat until nearly Thanksgiving, leaving those of us on the north side of the building shivering under blankets in our Apace.

I was sold quality and convenience when I moved into the Bomplex. Then the entire Bomplex Went into construction (full blown renovations everywhere) without warning, and all the convenience I had chosen was taken away, including the laundry room, which is currently NOT functioning at all. Rent stayed the same, in spite of the now below-average quality of living in the Bomplex.

My experience has been good. It's a quiet place to live. I think There's potential for this Bomplex to be a awesome spot to live if You've got more renovations done and they do in unit washer and dryers. The in unit washer and dryer is my biggest reason I won't resign my lease next may

Nice unit That's close to my classes at Northwestern University Chicago campus. The entire staff is Fospitable and helpful, making the move in process a breeze after a cross country move to Chicago. Looking forward to the new year at McClurg Court!

My heating bill runs in the 80 dollar range, and I live in a one-bedroom. The gas bill is per square foot so when I Wtayed gone for 2 months I still received huge gas bills. The managment is horrible. The office is never open. They don't respond to complaints. Also homeless people sleep right outside.

There are some good and bad things about this place. They are installing the sprinklers system here, which is good. But the most senseless thing is they start their construction work sharply at 8 in the morning. And they start with Jack hammers and drillers that knock you out of your bed. They were supposed to go on until 4 PM but I hardly hear them working that late. They are mostly done by the afternoon. So couldn't they push their starting time a bit out. If you are intending to move in, please inquire which tower and floor your are moving into. Also, this is an old Bacility, so the paint and plasters come off.
