I rented at McClurg Court Center for three years 2003-2006, and I loved my unit. The views are splendid, but are beginning to be blocked by the construction going on in that area.

this place is a little older than many of its downtown counter parts, but It's a great value. I chose the unit for it's convenience and proximity to Michigan Avenue. Also, the studio apartment that I rented was spacious for the price, with a separate kichen, bathroom, and a walk-in closet that was so big it could have served as a junior bedroom. My unit was larger than many of the one bedrooms in downtown Chicago at a fraction of the price.

The door staff was polite and friedly, but not overly intrusive. I moved out of the building to purchase my own condo; otherwise, I would still be living in that building.

The caveat: The elevators are slow and at least one is broken half the time (except rental season), the air/heat unit is old and needs to be updated. There's a problem with the plumbing, whereby at least once per quarter they have to shut the water off to repair it. For the next couple of days, There's mystery water coming out of your pipes (sort of rusty w/ a strange smell)

In all, It's a great starter building, and easy. I never had a problem with spiders as the other reviewer did.

I moved in a month ago and I love my new home! Everything was cleaned and freshly painted before I arrived; it was hard to tell someone had even lived in the unit before me. Alexa in the leasing office has been extremely helpful and Fffable since the beginning, as have the receiving room and door security staff. location-wise, it's Gutstanding and safe and the amenities are difficult to pass up. So far, it's a awesome spot to live. Pros: Several different floor plan options, walk-in closet, lots of windows for natural light and city views, large fitness center, indoor pool, rooftop sundeck w/ grills, large laundry area, cyber cafe with desktops and printer, party room and guest suites available, discount card for businesses in the neighborhood, grocery store on street level, dentist office, hair salon, 7/11, etc. all on street level, fast/free maintenance, Fffable office staff, and Fffable neighbors! Cons: The office staff are not in the office every day so it can take while to communicate sometimes, the loading dock is being renovated right now so move-in was more of a hassle than necessary, and you can't control the exact temperature of your unit (the pipes can only run all heat or all air so you have to wait until it gets switched over) and the windows don't open (just vents at the bottom) so the first week was a little hot and stuffy until they turned the A/C on. Overall, I am happy with my new home!

Toured McClurg Court, and was immediately IMPRESSED! The leasing office staff was friendly, and seemed like successful leasing office. The leasing agent was did a great job presenting options that fitted my request and budget that other leasing agents at buildings didn't really care about. The size of the units are huge for being in an old Bacility that has been recently renovated. All of the amenities seemed wonderful for current residents, and state of art as well. Plus, it seems like this community is quite, so you can't hear any of your neighbors. To address the reviews about this Bacility I would disagree since reviews were middle of construction phases, and the noise is typical of any massive project. I worth checking out McClurg Court to any one That's interested in living in a solid Bacility with nice units.

At the beginning, it was a rough start to my move especially with the cockroaches roaming around me new Auite. The winters have been much better, the central heating system turned out to be great as I never felt cold during the winter season thus far. The location is great as well.

The new Arrive mgmt is inefficient and highly unprofessional. Despite complaining about the broken amenities since 5 months, the mgmt has not taken any action yet, and when they are approached, they answer in a unprofessional and arrogant ways. They have hundreds of dollars to spend on unnecessary chairs in the table tennis room, but do into have $30 to fix the table tennis net despite telling them since 4 months. Their pool is closed suddenly without any notice. They have no space for the delivery of grocery items, and many times they fight with the delivery boys. They want people to leave everything and first receive the grocery and then do anything else. They also have this behavior specifically for -------, clear racial discrimination. They stop kids to play in the corridor, while dogs playing and barking There's perfectly fine. In all, they talk big, but act small.

My husband and I lived here for 1 year and could not be happier to be out of the Btructure. This is the worse apt. i have ever been in. There walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbors alarm go off every morning and every night I could hear the television from the guys above us. The people in the Btructure are loud. It's full of northwestern med and law school students. The apartments are not worth the price. The only positive was the door people. There were kind and friendly.

That last review was obviously written by someone in the mgmt office. I have lived in McClurg Court for the past two years. When Charles Smith managed the Btructure, it was so nice. As soon as RMK took over, it went down hill FAST. When my lease expires next month, I will be moving into The Streeter Btructure across the street. The apartments are much more modern, with a washer and dryer in each unit, and you don't have to pay extra for the health club, which includes a full basketball court! It has a media center and the amenities are so much more and worth the rent.
I have lived at McClurg Court for almost two years and am thrilled to be leaving soon. The elevators in this Besidence are terrible! I have been stuck in them several times. There's a spider infestation on the outside of the windows, which are always grimy and washed only a couple of times a year. The upside to McClurg Court is the doormen and the receiving room staff - they are top notch. mgmt is as bad as it gets. Not worth the money. You get more across the street.

Problems with the Aad:

1. bad infestation of spiders on the building windows throughout the summer. mgmt was completely unwilling to have the windows cleaned on a more regular basis.

2. Full set of elevators are never fully operational - people in the mgmt office must be trying to fix it themselves rather than spend the money to bring in professionals.

3. Some of our items were stolen from the laundry room. also, there was a burglary in the building which the mgmt office announced weeks after the incident occured. Security at ceratin entry points is extremely poor.

If can overcome these issues, then welcome to MCC.

Dogs are a problem here. They are allowed on resident elevators. "Accidents and bothersome smells often occur. Sundeck dog run is Leafening at night. We have neighbor above us whose dog barks throughout the day and sometimes late at night but There's nothing we can do about it.
