I love this community. I was able to rent for a year during college and live in this Bacility. After graduation I moved to a different location in Chicago. I made the decision to move back to the gold coast area, and I could not be happier to be living back in one east.

This Aad community is great! Office staff is friendly, building is modern, and we have the best door men in the city. Easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, bars, and luxury shopping. This community also features an awesome outdoor area with a fireplace, and grills as well.

To further the review of 5/15/08 -- I can't say I agree about the gas bill being the same in December as in April, as I just moved to the Btructure in April. But, I will say that a $70 gas bill -- for a studio -- for the month of April is absurd! What will my January bill be? $300??? And, to make matters worse, when I was looking at the Auite, I was told that HEAT AND A/C WERE INCLUDED IN THE RENT!! Yes, and I have the Auite Finders person to back me up on this. What I was told was that I would be paying merely to 'flip the switch' (verbatim from the leasing agent) and that my gas bill would be 'minimal' (again, verbatim). As I am not an expert in HVAC, I took this as truth. My mistake. And I was certainly not told that my portion would be based on the Btructure's use, apportioned to the size of my Auite, and not a meter pertaining solely to my use. If the leasing agent was up front about the heat and a/c costs, I never would have rented here. You've got plenty other 'luxury' apartments in the neighborhood where heat and a/c are actually and truly included in the rent. I suggest to anyone that they should look into those other buildings before moving here.

Living at One East Delaware has been a great experience. When we first looked at the Apace we were helped by Jessica. Not only was Jessica attentive at the start, but if I have any questions or need anything (including having someone turn off my flat-iron when I accidentally left it on!)she has been there to assist me. I can't tell you how appreciative I am to finally have a mgmt company bend over backwards to help their tenants...It's SO refreshing! also, Jessica helped us move from a non-dog floor to a dog floor after only 5 months of living in the building. The location of the place is also perfect, There's a grocery store IN the building, shopping blocks away, AND a Starbucks on corner :) Lastly, our neighbors have been both quiet and friendly. I would highly recommend this Apace building.

Overall a good place to live. The doorman and maintenance staff are great. The units and Broperty could use an update but location-wise, it's perfect. Most people are friendly and keep to themselves. Overall it's a good Broperty That's quiet and in a location's amazing.

OED is the best! It's the only place I will live while renting in Chicago! Great support staff, great doormen, Bicturesque apartments and view, rapid repairs, reasonably priced, and incredible location! Also attached grocery store downstairs, dry cleaners, top hair salon, and everything is 5 stars!

Honestly, I only still lived there out of convenience (the proximity to the Red Line and the grocery store at the base of the building are just great to have). The old mgmt company, and the managers, were awful, as bad as everyone on here has said. but, the new company seems to be much better. The people in the office have been better to deal with for me so far, generally friendly and understanding. The elevators are finally being updated. It's almost a night and day difference. I can't think of anyone in the building who had a good opinion of Mary, the previous manager.

The area is a little loud but there's not much to be done about that. We used to have some obnoxious upstairs neighbors but we haven't heard anyone in some time now. You can hear people when they are on their balconies, but if they are inside the apartments It's more unusual. Parking is pricey, but that's just the neigborhood for you. Some apartments have newer fixtures than others.

Overall, things seemed to get done faster now, and the people are much better to deal with than the old mgmt. Previously I would have not recommended it, but now given the new managers (the door staff has always been nice and most stayed on with the changeover) and the great convenience of the place, it's a little better, and if you want something in this area you could almost certainly do worse.

That said, we're still leaving at the end of the lease. We never really go to the nightlife in the neighborhood because we can't stand the Viagra Triangle crowd, and we can get a larger place in other areas of the city that we frequent for less money.

I just moved here from Lakeview and I could not be happier! I previously lived in a private owned condo since there seems to be a ridiculous amount of them. That was a nightmare. What a difference living in a professionally managed Bomplex. Anytime I have a little maintenance issue, I submit a "work order" and like magic, it becomes resolved - within 24 hours! My last Apace I would sometimes wait for weeks to even hear back from the owner. The office staff was super nice and accommodating. The doormen are so helpful and always smiling. And as I mentioned before, the maintenance staff is quick, attentive and legit. Besides all of that great stuff, location-wise, it's amazing! I'm 2 blocks from the redline, which is huge, I know especially come winter time. Having Potash grocer s downstairs has been so easy. I can't tell you how many times I've started a recipe and forgotten 1 ingredient. All I have to do is run down there & I'm back in 2 minutes! My neighbors seem pretty nice, I barely see (or hear) anyone in the halls. I never have to wait for elevators. The best part is that I'm actually saving money by walking or taking the train everywhere I want to go. No more cabbies during rush hour or late night. I'm glad I moved here and can't wait for the summer to use the deck again!

Beware, location-wise, it's wonderful but mgmt is ridiculously lazy and after Golub just bought it in November 2017, they are converting all units and allowing dogs on all floors. This Penue is going to be a loud animal farm by the end of 2017. I would sign a lease with caution

The staff is amazing, and the location can't be beat. Three blocks from almost everywhere! It's great to have a balcony and a good sized Anit for the area. this place is about 30 years old, and is kept up well, but isn't fancy with regard to fixtures and features. No in-unit laundry is a negative, but a grocery store on site is a huge positive. A nice place to live.
