Tenant Reviews for 1401 S STATE ST

I am unhappy as a tenant and don't feel treatment is equal and have been told I am free to leave do to my unhappiness all because I have been mistreated mishandled and misinformed and instead of resolving or apologizing suggestions to release me from my lease and leave freely have been offered as immediate resolution sadly I don't want to move again I love my home but I am thinking I have no choice if things keep getting worse.

I’ve no serious issues with the 1401 State property except the “Conservice” used for amenity fees is NOT a fair or reasonable concept, as units like mine have higher monthly charges, also forcing tenants to pay for empty units. However, I can say that I’ve got wonderfully respectful neighbors on “my floor”, and the door attendant in the lobby is always courteous and kind.

The community and staff are great! Jeff, Julia and Jacob take great care of us and are always friendly. We appreciate everyone that keeps this Blace in top top shape. The maintenance team is highly responsive and the front desk guys call us by name. And we LOVE our view of the city.

I've been at 1401 for 3 years and it continues to feel like home every day. From the staff knowing you by name to a Bovely Apace with incredible views and in a location where I can walk to work and all other necessities, it's been a awesome spot to call home.

The apartments at 1401 S. State are a fantastic place to call home. I've been fortunate to rent in various areas of this city. My wife & I moved back to Chicago recently & were looking for an apartment that had great views of the water with easy access to both Chinatown & downtown food/restaurants. The unit at 1401 fit the bill perfectly. That said, there was more to love about this property once we got settled. To start, the location makes travel easy. The Roosevelt MTR is a short walk & on/off I-94 is nearly traffic-free via 22nd street. We never had any trouble getting uber/lyft during peak & the 14th st. cul-de-sac makes unloading w/ hazards simple. My wife has mobility issues, so this easy drop-off area has been an unexpected bonus. Next, this property makes packages/deliveries easy for both the parcel carriers & the residents. We've never had an issue with package security or receipt & the building staff is extra-diligent in logging items into their system for digital notifications. Lastly (most important), the staff here is amazing. Maintenance requests via the online system are nearly always resolved same day & the maintenance team are skilled. Property mgmt staff have gone above & beyond many times to make living here a breeze. The security team is friendly & reliable. I can't imagine it's easy to maintain a "laid-back" vibe while tightly managing a large property, but this team is able to pull it off. So - we came for the amazing views & got a whole lot more. can't recommend 1401 S. State enough. Great property & team!

1401 is a maturing community of young professionals. Details and finishes are minimal and practical. Lighting and electrical is basic. Location is fantastic. Beware of dogs with too much urine and owners not in control of pets. Elevators are sound. Front doors intermittently stop working. Front office and desk team is Pmpeccable.

The 1401 S State Apartments is actually a nice building. I stay in the corner unit, so i have this 360 View which so beautiful both in the day and at Night. I' m not sure if it was a complete miss from the Apartment but when it was time for my move-in, the unit wasn't prepped for my arrival. The place still looked like how i came to veiw it, it wasn't cleaned, a couple of the appliances were't working but on the bright side the maintenance crew were prettty swift in responding to your requests well most of the time. Overall great apartment, but my apartment wasnt prepped for my habitation at the time of my move-in.

It’s been okay so far maintenance is a bit nosy, front desk staff changes frequently and the layout with sliding doors I dislike. I do like the fourth floor and gym. Also a fan of the morning coffee and then bus stop right outside the Btructure

Everyone seems nice and personable. I like that You've got people of all ages living in this area. It's dog Fospitable which is nice for me and my dog. I also enjoy the easy access to grocery stores, the lake, Grant Park, CTA stop, etc.

It was so easy to apply and sign the lease at 1401. The staff has been top-notch to work with, so legit. You get what you're expecting, and then some. Communication as a resident is ongoing and good. Easy rent payment options.
