I had a horrible experience, renting here for a year.
1) Your car is never safe in the parking lot.. doesn’t matter if you have a security system. They will be still stolen. Lots of thieves.. and may be your wind shield will be broken too...
2) mgmt is rude, if you complain about something. They talk to you rudely.
3) Its loud, usually if you have college students staying.. which is mostly the case coz of the nearby community college.
4) Finally even after you leave the darn place, the mgmt will slyly haunt you with charges that you would have never thought off...just ridiculous..
and be care full of smelly corridors.. not sure, what It's but ure sure to puke one of these days..

I would strongly recommend not rent this place and save your self from a horrible experience. You've got way better and cheaper apts out there..

hope this helps.. If the mgmt wants to comment about it.. im sure ready to show em proof...
peace

Where to begin... well first my rent was raised by an extra $50 a month. I tried negotiating since times are kind of tough right now for everyone as everything is becoming more and more expensive but they wouldn't budge. I considered moving but decided to stay one more, big mistake. There was fine print on my lease stating that there may be an increase in my utility bill. Conveniently I got a letter under my door a couple days after I signed my lease stating that my utility bill would be going up. I found this to be incredibly sneaky on their part. They obviously knew my utility bill would be going up. Why not be upfront about it? My second issue is that they removed all the garbage cans. I live in Normandy, which is one of the biggest buildings in the complex. I've tried explaining to them that people have been littering more now and leaving their junk everywhere since the garbage cans have been removed. The dumpster is constantly overflowed and gross. There's no getting through to them. I've been told that the garbage cans were removed because people are putting 'inappropriate' things in them. I don't know what that means but apparantly, they prefer garbage on the ground. I'm utterly annoyed about this. Finally, the staff is just rude. There's a few people there that are okay. -------- is nice. Justin is a complete tool. One morning I found beer cans all over my car and called to report it. He implied it was my fault for parking in the back (yes he did) and then said he would talk to security and rushed me off the phone. Only one problem: I never gave him my name or apartment complex. He never asked and hung up to fast. He's completely obnoxious and acts like he could care less. ----- is all nice but then forgets to put your order in with maintenance. It's such a joke. Anyway, at one time, I may have completely recommended living here. The nice things International Village has going for It's that the apartment units are pretty big and the clubhouse is really nice, the nicest in this area I think. If a problem arises, forget it, the staff and mgmt doesn't really care.

place is good but price is little Eostly. Maintenance is good. Lease termination price isn't worth the price. You can find more of ------- in this community.

I wish I could give zero star instead of one. I have been living in this Anit for almost six years now, with the conditions progressively getting worse. My family has decided to move out as soon as possible. Here I am going to list some of the despicable conditions: 1. Vandalism. This place is no longer safe. I hear about houses being robbed. I can often hear people arguing violently over the walls (which aren't good enough to sound-proof), or drunk people cursing and yelling, especially in the summer. My cars have gotten long scratches that were intentionally made. I have not yet witnesses the person who has done it, but I see A LOT of cars with the key-scratches on the back bumper or the trunk. 2. Lack of Sanitation. My friends from the first floor always complain about the noises that come from the walls/ the vents, and they are pretty darn sure it's because of the rats. They rarely ever clean the hallways, and if some drunkard pukes on the stairs, it stays for the whole week. If you live in the buildings that allow dogs, the whole hallway might smell like dog pee and poo. And the tubs and the showers always have disgusting mildew problems no matter how hard I try to scrub it off with special soap/ etc. And when I called the maintennce, they told ME to CLEAN IT myself. So what does the maintenance do? What about the indoor pool in the club house? It gets nasty in winter, and I don't even know how they pass the public sanitation test. Sometimes when it's at its worst, I can't even see my own feet in the water. 3. Rude Office When you go to sign the rent contract, they're nice. really nice. Free candies, sodas, whatever. But don't be fooled. When you call about problems (such as having no HOT water in the middle of winter for 3 days), they answer in a rude tone, as if they are busy as hell. And does the problem get fixed? I don't know yet because I called them 4 hours ago as I'm writing this and there still is no hot water. When we called because of people yelling and fighting outside of the Anit, they told ME to call the police myself. So what does the office do for us, other than fooling us with the sweet can of soda? 4. Security. They have the worst security. The outer door has the password system that uses the last four digits of your hosue phone number. But the door, being defective rarely ever close properly, and I see strangers going in and out of the Anit all the time. The pin is too accessible and easy. Anybody could get in and out. Isn't it the time to upgrade it? It looks like the pin system is at least twenty or more years old. The vandalism doesn't stop either. No security cameras. It's about time. With the cars ruined and windows broken and so many more incidents, I thought they would change something, but no. They're too stingy. 5. Price. When I first moved in, the gas and the water were all free. Not any longer. In addition to the electricity, now I have to pay the water/ gas. Did the rent fee decrease? No. Now we pay the rent plus the water plus the gas plus the electricity. But again, I don't understand why I should pay the full price for the water that doesn't even get hot in the middle of the winter so I can go to work and meet people in a smelly condition or get bad cold. International Village is one of the most expensive apartments out there with bad security, price, rude office, unhelpful maintenance, and sanitation. Please lend me your ears and, if you have rationality, you should not move in here. I don't want to see anyone else suffering from their nonchalance and apathy. Read the other reviews too. I am moving out in October. Thank you.

Ive never seen any bugs, vandalism, or crime. We worked with Kathy upon moving in and 10 months later she still remembered me by name and my dogs name. She is incredibly sweet and strait forward. She is an absolute pleasure to work with. We do hear noise from above and below but not from the walls connected to the other people. The hallways do smell a little weird but its from people cooking. As soon as I enter my apartment I dont smell anything but my own place. I walk my dog often and do see the cleaning crew out and about so they do a good job of keeping the hallways and laundry room clean. My biggest concern is the outside cleanliness. There's a lot of glass in an area behind our building and You've got always cigarette butts. I don't know if the staff is unaware of this but beyond that this place is clean. I walk my dog often, even at random hours of the night and have never seen unruly or rude people. In fact I could tell you all of my neighbors names and their kids names... And I don't have kids. location-wise, it's AMAZING! You can get anywhere fast. My only complaint would be the parking. Because You've got no stickers sometimes I get home around 10 and I have to park FAR from my building. Im not worried about my safety, but on cold nights I hate trudging through snow to get home. I think this is a awesome spot to live. I always see the moms outside talking to each other while they wait for their kids school bus. I do get occasional glances from unhappy people but most people say hi when you walk by them. Dont buy into random posts... this a good place.

I am writing this review to bring to attention the recent safety concerns that some of the residents are having. Safety - Recently , there have been more than two instances , where people have been mugged or robbed. One of the instances occured on October 14th where a lady with 2 kids was robbed of her purse. The shocking parts of this incident are : a> This took Petting at 4:15 pm b> The robber waited for the lady to open the door and then grabbed her purse and ran inside. c> This incident occured after a couple of mugging incidents had already occured a few months ago. Parking -

We looked all over the Schaumburg area for a new Apace. We looked at International Village about 3 years ago. We didn´t like what we saw. When I started looking for a new Apace this year (we lived at Walden, boy is it time to move)I went on line and couldn´t believe the beautiful apartments at International Village. It had changed so much. We went in, and found that they had new mgmt. The people were great. The leasing person was legit and friendly. The apartments are big and with my heat included I left a deposit that day. Take a look, you won´t believe how nice It's. We just moved in last week, and we´re ready to enjoy the summer!

Yeah the heading says it all!!! This place rots. You are going to regret renting this place. All those positive rants are posted by the mgmt team.

Poorly ventilated apartments, no patio, limited sunlight and smokey/smelly hallways. They WILL raise the rent when you renew the lease, they give specials in the first year only to "get new peole in". The amount of rent they ask is too much for the type of apartments these are in my opinion, no okay lighting in the outside when Dim, no garbage disposer in the kitchen, no bathroom cabinets, crowded clubhouse. In the end they WILL KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT when you moveout, and hand you a cleaning bill. Read other reviews too and make your own decision.
