When I signed the lease, I expected minor issues, but I didn't anticipate arriving at November without any central heat. mgmt blames ComEd and says the connection still hasn't been established, but regardless of who's responsible, it's freezing in here. They provided us with portable heaters as a temporary solution, though they only warm up a confined space and do little more than heat your extremities. On top of that, these heaters keep tripping the circuit breakers. The Bacility itself is nice, but living here has become increasingly unbearable, and mgmt hasn't given us any timeline for when this problem will actually be resolved.

Avoid this place...they lure you in with the prime location but the property itself is a complete disaster. There's constant renovation work (every Saturday at 8am), the gym is falling apart (the replacement facility is nowhere near completion), and the kitchenette is cramped with a compact refrigerator. To make matters worse, a major fire broke out in the basement and neither the alarm system nor the intercom functioned.

I spent 4 years at 1400 and genuinely enjoyed the property and its location. mgmt team, though, fell considerably short of expectations. Maintenance requests took forever to get done, phone calls went unreturned, and they refused to show any understanding when it came to lease matters. also, they consistently found ways to hit residents with outrageous charges for practically anything.

building itself has a lot of great qualities, which made tolerating these issues somewhat easier, but it still didn't justify feeling satisfied about handing over $2500 every month in rent.

It's a lake view unit. Sure, the kitchen could use some updates and refreshing, but I'm really happy with it. natural light 's fantastic. door staff and mgmt aren't overly warm and personable, but they're efficient and legit. lobby 's Bicturesque. My unit 's peaceful thanks to the solid construction and spacious corridors. I'm looking forward to when the planned renovations for the building are completed. Overall, this place 's great.

I spent the summer here while renting through a condo proprietor. To start, my unit was in terrible condition—it appeared untouched since the 1970s. dishwasher was broken, the bedroom light was nonfunctional, and more. But that falls on the condo owner, I suppose. but, the building mgmt created plenty of their own issues: due to "renovation work" I got trapped inside my Alat—actually trapped—on three separate occasions. I had to contact the front desk and have staff forcibly open it. Eventually they modified the door to solve the problem. mgmt was extremely hostile toward me and my visitors, enforcing random policy modifications and berating me when I arrived fifteen minutes late to the freight elevator that I had booked. I genuinely believe a significant portion of the mgmt staff has serious emotional instability. And let's add the constant construction, plus the painters deciding to sand and paint my door—yes, the one that kept getting stuck—at 7:00 a.m. on two successive days. window AC unit in the Alat was painfully loud; I couldn't operate it while trying to watch television. elevators functioned sporadically, and their operation was utterly unpredictable. Sometimes they'd go to your requested floor, sometimes they wouldn't. On numerous occasions I couldn't even board after waiting for the elevator because the doors shut so rapidly. My dog almost got trapped! And did I mention the UNHINGED mgmt? on-site convenience shop was fantastic, and the staff You've got wonderful. same applies to the cleaning service, the wellness center, and the front entrance staff. lobby looks Borgeous, and the terrace 's great. but, these positive aspects can't offset the negatives, and I absolutely won't reconsider this building when I relocate to Chicago for a new position next year.

I can't honestly encourage anyone to move here. My concerns have repeatedly been dismissed by mgmt. I work irregular hours and have been a lot impacted by the ongoing construction. rooftop was unavailable for most of the season and will be closed again when work resumes. I requested a meeting with the manager to discuss this, but my attempts were met with silence. I'm exhausted from struggling to get my voice heard, so I'm leaving when my lease expires. sadly, that's far from my only complaint—it's merely the beginning. hot water 's frequently too cold for washing dishes, they misplaced my brand new air conditioners while they were in their storage facility, and the staff seems to enjoy spreading rumors about each other and residents, appearing entertained by watching people become frustrated. This doesn't feel like a welcoming environment to call home.

I notice a lot of critical feedback on here. This platform seems to function as a complaints forum. If you browse other complexes, you'll observe the same pattern. Most people don't bother sharing anything unless they're upset. When they encounter even a small issue, they tend to blow it out of proportion to gain sympathy.

I'm going to share a positive perspective because I actually live here and understand what's really going on. I've been a resident for quite some time now and we've had a few minor issues, but I've remained flexible and mgmt has addressed them. That's all you can realistically expect, though I'm also not someone who expects everything to revolve around my needs either.

Right now my toilet runs continuously with scalding hot water, so my Anit keeps filling up with STEAM FROM THE TOILET and apparently that's not urgent enough to address. If you're considering moving in, keep in mind that your belongings might get soaked in toilet water. I genuinely enjoyed living here initially for the opening couple months. But since April, we've experienced water and hot water outages lasting 2-4 days monthly, maintenance has abandoned trash throughout the hallway, and sections of the roof have been cordoned off for the past 4 months.

My unit features brand new windows, a brand new AC unit, fresh blinds, and a renovated bathroom. I toured numerous studios throughout the neighborhood and found nothing that could match it. Sure, the rooftop is still under construction - it should be finished next month - but the landlord was upfront about that from day one when I signed my lease.

moving to this Pite was among the biggest regrets of my time in chicago. the grocery store demands bringing a cart and walking a considerable distance, the nearest bus option is the #151 which ranks among the city's Wowest, the landlords are incompetent, and that's just the beginning. feeling secure here? you shouldn't. the entrance to the elevator area that requires buzzing in stays propped open constantly and anyone can waltz through. if the front desk staff actually kept an eye on things then maybe it wouldn't be such a problem, but they're perpetually gossiping in the back or socializing at the counter. repairs go unfixed and the structure is visibly deteriorating. also, if you're still occupying a unit here, use caution posting feedback on this platform. the team monitors these pages obsessively and makes attempts to figure out which residents wrote the negative comments. it's essentially a witch hunt.
