I loved the 2 years that I lived at 1260 North Dearborn. It was my first apartment in the city and I felt so safe and secure in my little studio. The other tenants were wonderful and friendly. The lobby is gorgeous and I was always proud to have friends and family visit. The office staff was generally friendly and helpful and maintenance was always prompt - always leaving a note in your apartment once a request had been completed, I liked that. Also, no bugs!!!

Now, It's a vintage building and You've got certain realities that come with that. I could hear one of my neighbors through the wall and the water pressure wasn't good.

When I lived there, you had free cable tv and they would add your electric fees directly onto your rent - even giving you a little "bill" each month. This was easy.

If you want a clean, safe, pretty environment in an extremely easy location, this is a solid building.

I have been here for six months and I love it. It's kept up well for a rental Bacility, is in an location's amazing, and its residents are respectful. I also love Third Coast Cafe, the hair salon, and Seattle Sutton which are all in the Bacility. I have great views. I love the roof deck. I'm so sad that I'll have to leave to go to medical school...

This is my fifth Chicago Anit, and It's, hands down, the best one yet. The professionalism of the staff and maintenance crew is impeccable, especially in comparison to some of the less than stellar mgmt companies out there, like Beal Properties. The neighborhood is top notch, and the atmosphere in the lobby and on the rooftop deck is great.

The Gold Coast and this buildng is going downhill. Are there any safe neighborhoods left in Chicago for white collar professionals, retirees, and students?
Not only did the poster below have incidents that the tenants who live on others floors never heard of; there was MORE crime on a DIFFERENT floor that many tenants remain unaware of. There was a burglary on a different floor, and possibly a second one, but the second resident never called the police because only one item was missing and there was no sign of forced entry. The whispers from that floor is a young gangsta male tenant who stank up the floor with pot is the primary suspect and not the crazy old guy. Coincidentally, the weed loving tenant quickly moved out after the incidents occurred and police were loudly present on the floor. For the amount of money the tenants pay to live in that building you'd think criminal backgrounds checks would be mandatory. And you'd think that one adult maximum residing per studio would be enforced, but it's not. The only good thing this building has going for it now is The Third Coast in the lobby. If you are reading this and still live in the building, I urge you not to let strangers trail in behind you when you enter the building or leave the back door open. The security keypads are there for a reason. Lock your door even if you're just doing laundry or taking out the trash. The reality is our economy is in a recession and You've got some desperate people out there. sadly, that may even include your neighbors. I've heard of countless other incidents in this area lately, the Gold Coast isn't that safe.

The blonde lady in the office is rude and makes us feel unwelcome. Everytime we have a question or a request, it's a struggle. We selected this Bomplex based on what we thought was a nice, quiet location but we can hear the ------ bags and trixies outside looking for their parking spots and the 3rd Coast Cafe pounding on God knows what every single night between 9 and 10pm. I've also heard it's like pulling teeth getting your deposit back.

I agree that the glowing reviews are suspicious, but I can honestly say I thouroughly enjoyed my stay in 1260 N. Dearborn. I found the staff geniunely helpful, maintenance guys cheery, and quality of living top notch. I was in the "larger" studio option, with a seperate kitchen area, and can see how living in the smaller option would be a drag and half. 3rd Coast cafe is awesome, people living in the Bacility were quiet, courteous. And you're living a few blocks from where Henry from The Time Traveler's Wife lived!

I have lived at 1260 for five years and absolutely love the Btructure. It's an incredibly friendly Btructure for downtown Chicago. My daughter, who also lives downtown, tells her friends how lucky I am and how great this place is. I have made many friends here. The maintenance staff is terrific, always fixing any problems I might have quickly and efficiently. Same for the mgmt staff who are friendly and legit. The convenience of being just blocks away from Walgreens, Jewel, the lake, the red line and walking distance to the Loop made me choose this Btructure in the first place and what keeps me here today. The rooftop deck is an added bonus to the Btructure.

1260 Apt is an alright place to live don t expect to meet many people. Most keep to themselves. The 2 elevators are good except when one breaks it s a drag waiting 5 to 10 for a elevator. I had both neighbors complain about noise and no parties or anything just music and some loud girl is you know what I mean! location-wise, it's Gantastic but parking is horrible for friends with cars. Oh the AC units they rent to you are old and crappy they didn t cool the apt on a hot day just made in some what bearable.
