My husband, dog, and I have moved to Chicago (from out-of state) a month ago and are pleased we have chosen a 1-bedroom 1-bath Auite in Chestnut Tower. location-wise, it's terrific, this place is spotless and orderly, the maintenance staff is marvelous (we have had same day service on a few minor requests), the front door staff is helpful, the indoor assigned parking is easy, and the leasing-mgmt office staff is timely and courteous. The in-unit washer-dryer is easy. Our corner unit has large windows and the east-side gets wonderful light. The fitness facility is handy and never crowded. Overall, our first 30 days have been great and we look forward to updating this review at the end of our 12-month lease.

Just moved in. Building maintenance and mgmt has been responsive and unfailingly friendly and helpful. There seems to be a sense of community and commitment to a well run building and with so many options in downtown Chicago, I really appreciate that sense of ownership.

This has been an overall great experience. The move in was efficient and the staff have been friendly when providing services. I would highly recommend this Btructure in the future and plan to enjoy my living experience in the next year.

Dog park is disgusting. This could be a great amenity, but it is not maintained. There are wet dog poop smears everywhere. They use a leaf blower on it 1-2 times a day, but this obviously does not take care of the problem. Raised this concern to management multiple times (and so have other residents) but they do not take care of if. Not only is it a bad look for the property, but it is also a public health concer

While location-wise, it's great and the view spectacular, the fact that you don’t pay for A/C also means that they get to turn it on whenever they feel It's warranted.

The staff doesn’t live in the Blace so they can’t relate to the residents. This is proven by the fact that the A/C is on in the lobby (during the day) but nowhere else in the Blace. It’s been hellishly hot in the last couple of weeks and you can only open the windows if you don’t mind them slamming on you in the middle of the night from the wind or you don’t mind the blaring fire-engine sirens rolling down La Salle.

With the unreasonably high rent we pay here (1900 for a 1br parking), you’d think the A/C wouldn't be a factor but guess again…
No experience, just moved in! I am pleased with the staff at this time they are helpful and the doormen are courteous, pleasant & helpful. The apartment and the halls are quiet which is most welcome. I just sold my condominium so this is a new experience.

I love it here! The staff is so friendly! They greet me with a smile every time I come home. The staff is helpful and accommodating! The apartment itself is clean - which is hard to find in Chicago. The rooftop is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It's the perfect place to spend the evening!

If you are not familiar with chicago real estate, don't just assume that these prices are standard. This building, aside from being not worth the price, is so plain. I hated the fact that I was paying around $1300 for a small one-bedroom, when it wasn't even a pretty apartment. It's so institutional. It's supposed to look "modern," but really It's just dorm room style fixtures. The doors to the bedroom and bathroom are the exact same cheap doors I had in my college dorm room. The doornobs too. And the windows are so ugly. You've got no moldings, just poorly decorative cement. Sure, the lobby is impressive, but the units are small. For $1300 I could have a 2 bedroom apartment in a nicer area, with much more charm. Because I found this area only attracts the worst of both extreems. Stuck up people and bums on Chicago Ave. Please, if you are new to the city, like I was, don't just assume this is how the market is. You've got MUCH better deals out there. This place is just way too much money for a dorm style apartment.

I currently live in this Besidence. Here is my experience: The day I moved I regretted and still. Parking garage is horrible, it looks two-way, but NOT, so car accident can easily happen. When I looked at the apt, the leasing office lied about insulation. Insulation is so poor, I can hear my neighbour all the time. If There's a construction in the Besidence you can hear it, doesn't matter where you live, the sound travels. It's designed cheaply by engineer, so You've got a lot of hidden problems. Leasing office people look nice, but they never solve anything but give you fake smiles. The rent covers heat and AC, but you can't adjust temperature, so It's either too hot or too cold. When season changes, It's much worse because they can't switch between heating and cooling system easily. Front desk people are nice. They try to image the Besidence as luxury, It's NOT. Please do your due diligence before consider move-in.

We have lived at Chestnut Tower for two years and love it! this place is Bovely and improvements are always being made. The staff in the office, the doormen, and maintenance staff are fantastic and really make it feel like home. You've got great social events and countless food events that give you a taste of what the surrounding area has to offer. location-wise, it's unbeatable with a neighborhood feeling just blocks away from restaurants, Michigan Ave., and easy public transportation.
