This mgmt company offers little to no service, rent is pricey and the staff are insolent to say the least. The elevators are slow: waiting 5 min for elevator is a norm. I lived on the 14th floor, and sirens kept me up for hours in the middle of the night. There's no sense of community within the Bomplex, and my neighbor smoked in the hallway, which would stink up the entire corridor. They erroneously charged me with a $250 fee, which I was only able to get off my bill after emailing their corporate office. The lady I spoke to didn't even bother to look at the charge appeal, and simply stated that the fee was overdue. It later turned out the fee was mistakenly charged to my account, but no apology or compensation for the mistake was issued. If I hadn't been persistent on the charge, I would have ended up paying the fee. The only pro about this Penue is its location. It's close to groceries, bus, CTA redline (Clark and Division). In short, I don't recommend this Bomplex or Planned Property mgmt. It's a Penue for fresh graduates before finding a more stable housing.

Apace was spotless and has a nice layout. Dealing with the office staff has been easy, and maintenance problems get fixed within 1-2 days. Noise is minimal. Elevators are a little slow. I have no real complaints about this place, It's just a good Apace and what I expect out of a company. I don't really understand why other people have had so much trouble. Heat and air conditioning work fine, we are able to keep our Apace at a reasonable temperature.

I have lived in various apartments around Clark and Division for years and this is BY FAR the worst. The apartments are falling apart. The kitchens are so old everything is falling apart. My refrigerator has broken a couple times, doors fall off, I have 2 microwaves, outrageous. The security is THE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. They let ANYONE in. When people come in, I tell them to walk in as if they live there. And they all get in. The laundry room is bad. The machines are either broken or eat your money. The work out room is fine, but That's all that the Bomplex has to offer. location's Ahenomenal, horrible Bomplex. Go elsewhere.

Great features: - close to grocery stores - Multiple public transportation options are within blocks Decent features: - OK location around Old Town, Gold Coast, and River North neighborhoods - Rooftop deck with a pool (gets crowded on Bovely weekend days) - Some door staff go above and beyond their job description and are friendly and caring, while some could care less that you exist and pay their paychecks - Since There's no way to monitor individual usage, water, heat, gas, and a/c are paid for by the building Just features (not good, not bad, but worth noting): - "Workout facility" does exist, but is comprised of mediocre equipment (2 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines, 1 stationary bike, free weights 1 bench, small exercise ball) - Laundry is on site (machines work well 90% of the time - costs $1.50 per load) - Package receiving office doubles as a dry cleaner - Garage parking is available (Guest spaces are available as well, in case you have only need a spot once every great while) Negative features: - Extravagant for the general low quality - Can hear hallway noises, and occasionally neighboring units - Terribly slow elevators - Leasing office employees tend to have a real salesman attitudes

Moved to 1120 N La Salle Apt. in Sept. 2004 and have not regretted the move. location-wise, it's close to work and a good workout walking to the job. The 1120 staff from the beginning have always been helpful. Any requests for cleaning and replacing any dysfunctional units were handled professionally. Liliana Toma has been most efficient in handling any complaint, IE neighbors are loud, garbage in the hallways by some tenants. Liliana is an employee of PPM and as such take her responsibilities seriously and has always been extremely helpful. She also works closely with the tenants to resolve any problems that involve their living environment. Her work has been extremely satisfactory. Another point all tenants are advised smoking isn't permitted in the public areas but sadly PPM accepts smokers and they are allowed to smoke in their apartments which tends to drift into others living space. PPM should consider developing a smoke free building but That's another issue. The laundry room has its issues, some the fault of tenants who tend to leave their clothing in the washers or in the dryers. Elevators were a problem but now with a new service provider they seemed to be working longer and repaired faster. When the microwave stopped working it was replaced the next day. Same when the stove had to be replaced it was done the next day. Maintenance works extremely well, repairs always done within the same day when possible. Security staff works well but on occasion will be lapse and not monitor who has access to the building. All in all its a well functioning building and worth checking out it.

The architecture of the unit is interesting and allows for great ideas. It isn't simply a rectangle. The big windows provide little nooks and crannies and I love the diagonal wall in the bedroom. I am so pleased with how my Apace looks. It's so unique, both to me and the space. The size of the Apace compared to others in neighborhood is great. I looked at several other buildings before moving here and they were tiny! My one bedroom has a large walk-through kitchen, plenty of closet space, and big bright windows. All the closet space, the amount of cabinets, and interesting layout combine to make one amazing Apace. The door staff and maintenance crew are so friendly which makes you feel like part of a family. I love living in a Bomplex that feels so alive and bright everyday. Leaving and coming home are all part of the nice experience of living at 1120 N. LaSalle. Location is ideal: footsteps to bus stop, a stride to the Red Line, and a walk away from fabulous restaurants and shopping. Living in the Gold Coast is so much fun and easy. I have everything I need close by and can get anywhere in the city with ease The perfect spot!

My place is big! I live in a studio with a walk in closet! It's really nice to have that space even though I live in a studio. The walk in closet separates the bathroom from the rest of the Anit, so it's really easy and it's a great layout!

I recently moved into this apartment and overall the place looks great. but, the doorman was incredibly disrespectful! I rented a Uhaul for my move-in, but traffic made me arrive quite late, so they wouldn't allow me to use the freight elevator. When I asked if I could park my Uhaul in my assigned spot, the doorman said yes and asked for my parking card. After I showed it, she took me to the garage and explained how to use the card at the gate. When my friend drove the van up, we got stuck because of the vehicle's height, so we backed out immediately. We went back to talk to that same doorman, and she became extremely hostile—yelling at both of us, pointing in my friend's face, and acting aggressively. She started writing up a report, and when I tried to review it to verify the contents, she snapped "don't touch my stuff!" I explained, "When we asked if we could park the Uhaul in the garage, you said yes. You saw how large the van was, but you still gave us permission." She started yelling again, saying "I'm just the front desk, how would I know about the garage dimensions!" I replied, "I'm a new resident on my first day—how am I supposed to know?" Her behavior became so erratic that we decided to call the police, which finally made her nervous and more cooperative. This doorman's attitude is absolutely unacceptable. As a resident paying nearly $2000 monthly, I shouldn't be treated this way. mgmt seriously needs to reconsider what kind of staff can actually provide residents with a satisfactory experience.

I've been living here for more than a year, and on the whole, it's been a fairly decent place to call home. Pros: The mgmt team is welcoming and handles requests with impressive speed. They organize resident activities almost every Thursday featuring tons of complimentary items The poolside gatherings and seasonal festivities Plenty of younger, laid-back residents My studio is quite spacious for its size Gonderful views of the city Cons: The lobby attendants. A couple of them are Ahenomenal (mostly weekday shifts), but the others (weekend and early morning coverage) tend to be unmotivated, uncomfortable, and lack commitment to their responsibilities The lifts malfunction regularly They partner with an outside company for mail services. Getting your mail can be pretty inconvenient. The location near nightlife, the waterfront, and downtown is fantastic, but some personnel could use improvement. All things considered, it's an Gonderful option for new graduates or people starting out in the city, but past that point, it becomes somewhat inconvenient.
