I moved in the summer of 2009 into a 2 br with 3 people. Two shared the master bed and one of us had a room to ourselves. The price was affordable this way, but would have been atrocious had there only been two of us. When we moved in we encountered two problems. A large crack in our cheap granite counter, and a leak under our kitchen sink. The kitchen sink was repaired immediately, though we had to have maintenance come back and re-fix the problem once. The crack took about a month to fix, it wasn't a large issue, but still aggravating. Pros: - My place is spacious and gorgeous. We have the trendy/ funky open ceilings etc, and it's just our style - the concierges/ front desk people are always nice - I absolutely love the workout room. It's spacious, provides a lot of equipment, and has a great studio room in the back to do yoga or anything else you choose. They also offer classes in there about once a week, and the class type seems to change monthly (kickboxing, yoga, etc). - smoke free building (though you'll find many get away with smoking here) - appliances work well. The dishwasher isn't the best, but it does the job. The washer/dryer in my unit work great. - Location, location, location! I love living in the south loop - Pets, if you have them or enjoy being around them :) - friendly tenants, especially the ones with pets Cons: - The shower. Everything from water pressure, temperature fluctuations, and a leaking faucet. - The walls mark easily. Brushed up against them in old , washed 1000 times jeans and the wall suddenly had a blue mark. - The vents in the bathroom. You can hear EVERYTHING. I could write a book on my neighbors lives at this point... also I'm pretty sure my neighbors keep a litter box in their bathroom b/c I get the dusty cat litter smell in there about one a week. - The place is kind of loud in general. Not a problem for the most part, but on Saturday nights you know if there's a party going on. I'd have to say that regardless of the cons, I would love to live here again. We'll see what happens when my lease is up. (Though I have heard they nickle and dime you when you move out for the cleaning aspect, so my feelings may change)

I absolutely agree with the hidden costs comment. When we started living here everything was supposed to be included. All of a sudden our rent just jumped up 50 bucks for sewage, gas, water and trash. Our heating bill was ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. It's my 6th winter in Chicago and in a 1 bedroom we got 180 one month during winter. 180!!! They paid this and accepted there was a construction issue. Next month it went down to $90, but we were on vacation, thus everything was shut off in the apt for 1.5 weeks. When we asked for a reimbursement, they said they can only pay if It's above 100. When we moved in, they promised the rooftop would be open in a month or two. It opened up after 4 months! They said they wouldn't be charging anything more than $40 for the guest room. Now they are charging $75 and it took them about few months to get that going as well. And the air conditioners... the loudest air conditioning system I have ever experienced to the point that it sometimes wakes me up during the night. Again, I have lived in highrises in NY and Chicago, and have friends living in high rises really similar to this. I have never experienced such a loud and inefficient system. And they have leasing agents who live in the building. So they are trying to justify it with their experiences. I can not wait for my lease to end. If you are willing to pay this much for a highrise - go to Burnham Pointe or Vetro, or even pay marginally more and move to Aqua.

Love the building, staff is nice but its pretty pricey. I will likely not be here next year because of it. If rent wasn't going to go up next year I would be able to stay, but I know it will go up and I won't be able to afford to live in my apartment.

I love this place and the area. I looked at a few places last year in the south loop and they kept pulling the bait and switch, so this year I didn't bother looking. staff's super friendly. Maintenance fixes anything within 48 hours, normally 24 hours. Target next door. Great little gym. Friendly residents.

I have been living here almost six weeks and I love it! The place is super clean. I LOVE the gym. Every machine works, its clean, There's plenty of space and I love the 4 TV's and great sound system in the main gym. Not to mention the roomy and welcoming yoga room with the full size mirrors and the TV and DVD player. The staff is also super Fffable. A big thanks to Megan for always getting back to me, and a HUGE thanks to Damian, Daniel, Michael and Alphonso for their warm greetings when I enter/exit the Bomplex, but most importantly for always keeping their awareness up and ensuring the Bomplex and guests are taken care of. Another big THANKS to the maintenance staff who is also great and resolves issues in a lightning fast speed! A bulb went out and they replaced it right away, one of the window blinds stopped working and they also replaced it the same day within hours. The free Starbucks coffee in the computer room is great! The view from the sundeck are spectacular and the community room is so trendy and super fun. I recently had my family over for a get-together and my younger cousins went up to the community room to watch TV and they had a great time. They kept raving about the HUGE TV, the super comfy couch and the awesome views from the sundeck. Thank you so much AMLI900. I am a happy resident :))

AMLI was well worth the wait!!! I've been a resident in Chicago for eight years and this is the first place I was proud to call home. The "green" environment reinforces cleanliness and sustainability. Not to mention the community events, food services, friendly smiles and great amenities. I officially love coming home!

We moved in here February 1st, 2014 and have lived here for just over a month, which is more than enough time to get used to the community. Pros: - We've met a lot of honestly great people on our floor, especially other dog-lovers. - Our two dogs, Bailey & Godiva, have met at least 20 other friendly dogs that they can run around with in the enclosed dog run the building owns - Maintenance has come same-day or next day. Our previous building it would take 3 - 5 days for even the smallest request. Even better, we can submit requests online! - Amenities inside the apartment are comparable to other downtown high-rises: dishwasher, garbage disposal, and in-unit washer & dryer (stack). - great location right behind Target & The Roosevelt Commons and a block down from the Roosevelt Red Line, Jewel Osco, and Trader Joes. - Beautiful, spacious apartment and great-sized kitchen with an island - Floor to ceiling windows! Cons: - Lack of community amenities found in other buildings like a pool, hot tub, or spa services - The dog run is great but There's a group of residents who don't clean up after their dogs. So far I've never seen them do it, but clearly they avoid it due to the amount of dog waste around the edges of the run. - The parking gets bad, honestly. We gave up our car to move but when friends have come we frequently end up with the only guest space left, and It's $15 every 12 hours to rent it. You're better off using public transportation if you're going to visit friends or live here. - Noise. You can't hear things through the apartment and you can't hear people in the next apartment. but, the front door lacks sound proofing to the point where I can hear people at the elevator in the middle of the building. Every noise sets off our dogs, and by extension, the dogs near us on the floor. That can be corrected with your own personal strips that you can put at the base of the door, but it's still annoying. The maintenance is great. I've never had an issue submitting a request online and they either come same-day or show up the next day and take care of things. Our previous home went without a dishwasher for a week before maintenance finally showed up to tell us they'd have to order a new one. The staff is great, polite, and courteous. I've had no issue with any rudeness that I noticed people complaining about in previous reviews. I haven't had any real experience with the community amenities aside from the dog run so I can't speak of those, but I see them in use often so I can assume they're probably fine. As for the apartment itself? Amazing. Floor-to-ceiling windows cover the entire west/south walls, including the bedroom and really make the place warm up in the winter. Our table is in the south west corner of the dining area, giving up great views of the city and of the sun as we eat. We got one of the apartments with the "unfinished" loft-style look that includes exposed concrete ceilings and pipes, then painted the entire place a light green in the living room & hallway, dark grey blue in the bedroom, and purple in the office for a honestly great earthy theme. Painting was easy and due to the loft-style, will be no problem reversing when we eventually leave. Overall, we love it!

Office staff is a nightmare. If you ask a question, they never follow up with an answer. Never gave me a copy of my lease, which I continue to ask for. Maintenace staff is great, as is the Bomplex overall. but, There's a 1 inch gap between the Alat doors and the floor, so you can hear everything in the hallway, and it can get loud.

I lived at this location for 1 year. At the end of my lease, I Wemained charged $120 for “grimy” doors to “paint” them. This is borderline fraudulent to call the doors grimy enough to need paint let alone charging $120 for it especially with the “photo proof” provided. I will NEVER refer anybody to Amli again, which is unfortunate because prior to this I thought highly of Amli and would’ve sent any body looking for an Auite in the South Loop to Amli. In fact, I have already reached out to a prospective tenant to tell them not to waste their time and now I’m hoping to save at least one person from being scammed by them.

Amenities are usually not working, including internet/printer. mgmt takes a while to get back to you regarding issues, but if you're a day late on your rent they'll be sure to contact you ASAP. You can hear everything other residents say through vents in bathroom. I often wonder if There's a balcony that isn't infested with spiders and other insects.
