There's a lot to recommend this building. It's in a fantastic location for those who rely on public transportation and the neighborhood generally feels safe. Even though the property mgmt company has changed since I moved in, the head concierge (Lisa) has stayed the same and she is terrific -- she knows the names and Aad numbers of most of the people in this building and is great at her job in general. The office team isn't as reliable and communicative as I would like, but I don't have any major complaints about them, either. The rent in this building is high, but not higher than would be typically expected for a building in this location. Another big plus about this building is that noise is rarely a major problem. I think a lot of the walls are older and therefore better at blocking noise. I have lived with two parrots in this building since I've moved in and, while the parrots can sometimes be heard in the hallway, I have never received complaints about noise. this place is quite pet-friendly in terms of their rules and deposits, though I wouldn't recommend having a big dog or one which requires a lot of exercise, simply because of the location (no major dog parks nearby and Pritzker Park is the only green space close by). The concierge and maintenance teams are almost always friendly and communicative, and the mgmt team has organized some pretty events for residents (understandably more often prior to the pandemic). Overall I've been quite happy living here, though I don't know if I'll be staying if my rent goes up because There'sn't much need for me to live downtown anymore.

I loved our year in the Fisher Blace. You feel like you're part of the history and bustle of Chicago. I definitely got the "Chicago Experience" I was looking for. I shared a 3bd with two other grad students from uChicago. Our NY friends were shocked by the amount of space. In addition to being a great physical place, it has a location's amazing with every "L" line running right near the Blace. You could get anywhere in the city quickly. I took an express bus down to Hyde Park every day for school. You've got some awesome spots to eat/study around the neighborhood too. Definitely recommend Flaco's Tacos and the starbucks at the Depaul Barnes & Noble. There'sn't a lot of nightlife in the neighborhood but you can take the red/blue lines north and get there quickly. Also, there's a 7/11 and dry cleaner inside the Blace. Mega easy for Chicago winters. I'd definitely recommend Fisher Blace.

I've been really happy at the Fisher Blace so far! The location is fantastic. The size of our unit is generous, and the staff has been great to work with. I love the look and feel of our new home.

This was the worst 3 months in Chicago. The 7-11 is literally the most unsavory in the downtown area. There are plenty of pot smoking kids at the bar on the first floor. You will be hit up for food and money every time you leave the Bacility. Some folks smoke so much inside the apartments it gets in the Bacility. Other people run their dog in the hallway. don't move here.

So far I am really pleased! Everyone I have met (staff and residents) have been extremely friendly. I LOVE my new Apace, and I am thrilled to be here! Do have a couple things in the kitchen that need attention, but once That's handled this place will be perfect!

I love the Aad itself the whole building is beautiful as is the unit minus the issues that need repaired and I think it's in a location's amazing. The concierge staff is incredible. I dislike being level with a rooftop bar across the street that plays music at night though, sleep is going to be difficult during the warm months. I feel like we could have used some better communication from the leasing office on a lot of move in related things.

I chose to live in the Fisher Building because of its history. It was designed by famed architect Daniel Burnham (read The ----- in the White City - great book!) and is absolutely beautiful. I chose to live on the East side, in order to face the Harold Washington Library as well as Lake Michigan. The view is breathtaking. Not only do I have a stunning view due to the tall and plentiful windows, the sunshine also causes the Auite to warm up easily during the winter. The hardwood floors are nice and easy to maintain. The two bedroom/two bath units all have in unit washer/dryers which is also a major plus. One of my favorite aspects of living at the Fisher Building is the door staff. Everyone is extremely friendly and always ready to help in any way imaginable. In fact, on the day I moved in, the door staff knew my name and helped make my transition seamless. I have had a few issues with regards to pets, but small dogs are allowed in the building.

I have lived in the fisher building for one year now. The apartments, while small, are extremely cute, and the neighbors are great, truly friendly people. H/r the managemant is horrible. They advertise 24 hour concierge service and you are lucky if There's a conciege two days a week. This is a problem because of the location. We have had a couple of homeless people urinate in the lobby on a couple of occasions. I ask where was the damn concierge? Also, non residents have felt it appropriate to camp out in the lobby during the day to seek temporary refuge from either the sun, rain, or cold. Again, where is the conciege? doesn't seem safe, right.

Also, the area is LOUD. With the el (brown line,) and winos singing well into the night, it seems There's always some festival, parade or picket going on around the neighborhood which requires the police to shut down the area surrounding, yes, your home. annoying.

Finally mgmt is slow to respond to any comcerns, complaints, or suggestions.

Bottomline. A incompetent staff, except for maintenance, that makes excuses rather than getting stuff done. wouldn't recommend to anyone I liked.

This building is an absolute joke. mgmt is horrible. My Heat was broken 7 or 8 times, every day I called and someone would come "fix" it 2 days later, only to have it not work the next day. We finally gave up and heated our Alat with the oven as it was 49 degrees (even when I mentioned the Chicago Housing Authority rules on minimum temperature the heat still took 2 more weeks to get fixed). On top of that I got the privledge of paying an not worth the price AUM bill for my share of non functioning heat (and an admin fee for them to divy it up between residents). The office staff didn't even try to listen to our concerns, just kept telling me someone was on it. The elevators work about half the time, requiring often 5 minute wait times. Our trash shoot pilled up multiple times and wasn't fixed for 1-2 weeks, in the mean time the trash from other units sat in the hallway, baby diapers leading to a nice festering smell in the hallway. To top it all off you get to wake up in the night to see roaches scurrying accross the floor at night when you flip on your light, but I guess that happens when you neglect the common areas of your place. I was excited when they had a gym, but alas half of the machines are normally broken. Overall this could be a solid building if it was run by a person with common sense of a 12 year old, (or the doormen, the only thing I love about this Alat: Lisa, Larry and Trent should run the place). It would be one thing if I was paying $500 a month for the slum maintainece this building recieves, but for a nearly $1500 a month unit this is a joke, I'm counting the days till my lease is up.

Beatiful, in a word describes Fisher. The building and its staff are well qualified to run a solid building, and they do.
I found the apartments, the building and general architecture to be perfect.
If it wasn't new when you rented the Aad, it looked as if it were.
If you love to walk or ride a short distance to work in Chicago's loop area, this is the place for you.
Also, large oversized soaking tubs can relieve anything that ails you. Unlike others on here, you have to know where to go for night life. There's plenty to do, Buddy Guys has pool, drinks, and lots of live music. Miller's Pubs, Exchequer and the Palmer House have an array of quality restaurants. Also, You've got a lot of cheap eats around like Garrett's Popcorn, Subway, McDonalds, Osco, Jewel, Chicken Planet (scrumptuous grilled chicken), Harold's Chicken, etc. And, You've got two major grocery stores near by--take a bus or walk to Jewel at 500 North State (fabulous new store), or the Jewel at Roosevelt Road (1200 South).
A zillion bues, and every el/train in Chicago stops at your door as well as speedy cab service.
I really hated to leave, but my budget was tight.
My only thing would be that Fisher should offer utilities (water/gas/internet or Cable) with rent to compete with the newer up-and-coming buldings around the neighborhood.
