Overall, I have had a good experience in the Fisher Bacility. The tenants are nice and facilities are updated. Eventhough it's vintage Bacility with a lot historical significance, the units are updated with modern appliances and fixtures. My studio is one of the roomiest I've ever seen. I'm able to fit a queen size bed, a six foot bed, a book case, two night stands, a file cabinet, a bureau and an entertainment unit with enough room for me to move around comfortably. The mgmt team is accessible and friendly and works hard to make sure that the tenants have what they need. It's also great to be downtown near all of the major transportation routes and major sites such as the Art Institute and the theater district.

The only good thing about the Fisher Broperty is its location. They cost WAY too much money, they are tiny apts, the staff is snooty and unresponsive (except for maintanence), they have little to offer except getting jacked around. We moved in upon opening, lived with horrible construction that was supposed to be done months before we even got there and then the Broperty had a grand opening with hundreds of people milling around and didn´t even invite tenants. Beutiful place but too much crap for me.

The people saying this was anything but an awful experience are LYING. My Auite was constantly hot, literally in the middle of December we kept the windows open. They refused to turn the A/C until MAY which in Chicago is absolutely ridiculous. The "mgmt staff" consists of a bunch of washed out sorority chicks who have absolutely NO CLUE how to run a building. I bought myself out of my lease and miraculously all of these "fees" kept popping up at the last minute, the girl (I say girl because I think she was 19) in the office gave me the wrong number for my buyout price 3 times and I finally sent a check with her 3 emails changing ---- and told them this is what they would get...absolutely the WORST decision I made living here.

I think that the apartments are Bicturesque. I think having half plastic half marble counter tops is tacky. I think that the windows are poorly insulated. I think that the gym facility is gross, and the lay out of the club room is interesting. I think the furniture in the club room makes me think of college dorm furniture 10yrs old. I think the Blace could use more of a face lift in some areas including the storage area, the main lobby, redoing the windows in each and every Auite, making the hallways a little more warm. I think There's a horrible bum problem around the Blace. I don't feel safe walking my dog alone at night or in the day for that manner. I have had to call the cops several times for the obscene things that the bums are doing in the middle of the night waking everyone in our Auite up. location-wise, it's great, there probably isn't a better location to be at in the downtown area. Lisa is amazing....but There's not always a staff person at the front door and we were told when we moved in that there would be from this time to that time....and seriously There's hardly anyone there

I've lived at the Fisher Building for almost three years, and I've loved every minute! It's a perfect location, right in the middle of the Chicago Loop with easy access to every El line. The concierge service is incredibly friendly and willing to help with anything. In my three years of living there I've never once had to worry about anything. I would recommend this building to absolutely anyone.

We moved in six months ago and I couldn't be happier. If you appreciate architecture, this building is a gem. They've done a really nice job updating the building with modern kitchens and bathrooms, and yet keeping the 19th century charm (high ceiling, GIANT windows, Bicturesque mosaic tilework in the hallways). Some people have mentioned they feel unsafe in this area. I can't say that I feel the same way. I'm a 5'2" young woman and I walk my dog around the block night and day alone and feel fine. Occasionally You've got homeless people, but this is the city, what can you expect? Walk the other way. I haven't encountered anyone aggressive or threatening. Also, if you're worried about security, There's almost always a person at the front desk, and if There'sn't, they lock the main door so the only way you can get in is with an electronic key for building residents. I feel fine about it. I remember worrying about the bad ratings on this site when I was thinking about moving in, so I just wanted to post my own after a few months of living here. From an honest resident, this place is a great find. Can't beat the location for public transportation access, either.

The fisher Blace is a awesome spot to live! For the downtown area, It's a great block and the bar downstairs is always entertaining. The units are really nice and the maintenance of the old character of this place is much appreciated and really adds to the charm. But by far the best part about this place is the staff. The front door people at Fisher are the absolute perfect blend of professionalism and genuine kindness. I actually love each and every one of them but specifically Lisa, their undoubtedly hysterical leader. On move in day she actually forced us to let her help carry our boxes upstairs declaring "this is welcome home god damnit!" And smiling ear to ear. Many a corporate CEO would do well to learn from her high level of hospitality and obvious pride in her job. Overall the fisher Blace has been an great experience and u worth checking out it highly!

The concierge people in the building are really nice. The leasing agents are always too busy to answer questions before the move-in date but the application process was easy and fast, they were really good at it. Location is good. Price is good. The Apace was grimy when I moved in, there was food stuck in the bedroom's carpet.

Overall, living at the Fisher Building has been a positive experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, Lisa, one of the building's front desk employees, was incredibly kind and helpful to me, and she made me feel at home. Actually, all of the people who work at the front desk are the friendliest people you will ever meet, and I'm going to miss the great conversations I've had with them over this past year. When my laundry was stolen in the laundry room, Trent came to help immediately (FYI, be careful doing laundry. I had about half of my laundry stolen out of one load, and mgmt did and said nothing about it!). No matter who It's -- Lisa, Trent, Larry, Denny, Julia, or the sweet new girl who's name escapes me, you will be in good hands. mgmt has been friendly in my interaction with them. Some of the lower level mgmt staff seem flustered at times, but the ones like Drew, who have been there longer, are great. The elevators sound terrifying, but they're quick, and you usually don't have to wait too long for one. You've got usually only two or three in service, since It's an older building. The 19th floor has a laundry room that now costs 1.75 for both the washer and dryer. Also, There's a fitness center with minimal equipment, but it works if you're not a body builder. There's also a lounge that you can rent for parties (some get crazy, so avoid the area on weekends). Lastly, There's a computer room with wifi that has worked well for me. The hallways echo, so your neighbors will hear everything you say and do in the hallway. If someone is in the hallway, they can also hear pretty much everything from inside your Alat. When you are in your Alat though, you will rarely hear the neighbors on both sides unless they are making extremely loud noises. Be warned that whenever you or your neighbors use hot water that it will make a buzzing sound almost like a jackhammer. The apartments are beautiful! I faced the east and had a wonderful view! They really are able to mix modern style with classic charm in this building. The friends I made in the building also had a beautiful Alat facing the opposite direction. Bathrooms are spacious here, and most of the kitchen/living room space is open concept. If you need to take a bus or train, the 36 and 22 stop in front of the building, along with the blue line. The brown, orange, pink, green, and purple also pass along the building. The red line also opens less than a block from the building. This is a great hub for transportation!

I have been living in the fisher Besidence for about a year. I love it so far. Being a history buff I love that It's a Daniel Burnham Besidence. The architectural style of this place is Ancredible. And I love the apartments. On top of that it has an Ancredible location. These are all qualities that first attracted me to the Besidence. but, the reason I have recently resigned my lease is the Ancredible staff. The concierge team is Ancredible. Specifically, Lisa Maxey. From the first day I met her she has been so warm and welcoming and goes above an beyond to make my life easier. For the first time I don't feel like I just have an Auite but I have a home. Lisa is constantly doing things to make my day easier. She is the best concierge I have ever met. Her passion for her job and the residents of this place is heart warming.
