Good building with responsive management and moderate concerns.

Terrible. I regret renting this Apace. We are overpaying for tenement conditions. Our concerns are not taken seriously. The lobby gets more care than the actual apartments. I wish we could move out tomorrow. Every week we have a problem.

A underrated Broperty- with really nice sized one bedrooms and studios. The rent is cheaper then most (a 700 square foot place is only $750.00) - heat and water included in the rent. Laundry and dry cleaners in the Broperty- and Ive never had a roach problem at all. Also, quiet apartments. Never hear other tenants blasting their music except if you're in the hallways. Elevators are a bit slow, but it's an old Broperty. Id defentiley reccomend the place PS- mgmt is quick to fix a problem you have.

This is an awful building, don't MOVE HERE. I moved into this building because it was pet friendly and was available asap at the time. Last week I made a service request cause I have biscuit beetle in my Auite, the pest control banged on my door two days later, and after telling him where the issue was, he spent maybe 5 min in my Auite. I thought it was solved except I now have an infestation. I had to throw away all my pet's food as well because of this. When I first moved in, I noticed the bathroom sink was broken and the glass in the fridge is a misfit. I moved in on November 6th and they didn't bother to fix my sink at all till I started working for them in May. They refused to install my AC unit in May, even though I explained to them that due to my health condition, I faint when it's too hot and that just a few days ago I had to call 911. the packages are always tampered with and stolen, the mgmt does nothing about it unless someone threatened to call the cops, then they look at the footage and blame an innocent person. They made me return a package that was rightfully mine, as that wasn't enough, and they also terminated my employment. There's a resident in the building that constantly takes another resident's package, opens it then returns it saying " opened by mistake" The elevator and the directory box are almost always down at least once a month, not to mention water shutdowns. Just recently the main lobby door wasn't working, I called the contact center and they said "Thank you for letting us know, I will send a message. If they don't come out tonight give us a call again." There's a squatter at the east entrance about 4 days a week and the mgmt doesn't know if they will fix the door. I had someone try to open my door and pick at my locks the mgmt did nothing.

Everyone always told me to beware of MAC. I urge you to heed their warnings. I live here currently and I hate it. I live in a small studio and pay way too much money. The men doing the repairs and remodeling have terrible workmanship. They cut corners all the time. Drywall hides a lot of sins... Things in my apartment fall apart all the time. There's currently a light fixture that fell off the wall dangling above my kitchen sink. Also, the day I moved in, the door fell off my closet. I recently had a window fall in on me as well. I'm also NEVER home. I work long hours and come home to sleep, that's about it. So my place isn't falling apart because of overuse. It's hardly used as It's. I also live in one of the units that has been remodeled recently by the aforementioned workers, which is why I suspect things keep falling apart on me. In my kitchen, there's a vent. The vent doesn't have a fan, it's just a hole in the wall. I always smell what my neighbor is cooking through the vent. There's no fan of suction, its just a whole in the wall connecting our kitchens. I have it duct taped and sealed with a plastic bag, but I still smell whatever they're cooking. It's annoying and really smelly. The people are NEVER in the front office for anything. I can't have any packages sent here because they go right into the front office. I'm never home during the open office hours, and times I've left worked early / gone in late to accommodate their hours were futile because they never are in the office. MAC is quite frankly just terrible. It breaks my heart too because Hyde Park is a awesome spot to live, and MAC mgmt is buying up all the property around here. They are ruining the neighborhood. STAY AWAY!

I lived here for nearly a year. The studio unit was Rruly small. Think bedroom with a kitchen. It did have a dishwasher and built-in microwave. They were doing a lot of remolding at the time, so I bet the grounds and lobby area is even nicer now. The pros: quiet. I never heard my neighbors. Close the the #6 bus to go downtown. I enjoyed many of the restaurants Hyde Park has to offer. The staff was wonderful. The cons: rent is high considering the tiny amount of space you get. Heat was free. but I had to keep my radiator turned off most of the time and it was still way too hot. I typically kept the windows open a crack - even during that blizzard! During the summer, the heat was unbearable. Buy a window unit A/C if you can afford it.

I'm impressed with the cleanliness of the Bomplex. When my microwave was on the fritz,it was replaced within a couple of days with a new one along with new blinds. I find the maintance people friendly and helpful. Kia in the rental office is a real jewel to.

Rent is cheap. Heat and water included. The Alat building is a historic 100-year old hotel that was converted into apartments. Because of those thick plaster walls, you'll rarely if ever hear your neighbors. It's pretty, but it's not been kept up well over the years. Old mgmt was especially atrocious but new mgmt by MAC properties seems to be an improvement. A few complaints- elevators slow and break down often, causing tenants to get stuck inside. Apartments themselves in dire need of update- no modern amenities in the kitchen save for tiny stove and tiny fridge. Roaches are a problem when transitioning from warm weather to cold. Garbage isn't always taken out frequently enough. Main office closes early.

East Park Towers provides nothing more than a basic Hyde Park living experience with minimal appeal. While the maintenance team responds promptly, they tend to be somewhat unhelpful without direct oversight. Performance improves a lot when tenants are actively engaged and holding staff accountable. I've been a resident at East Park Tower for nearly half a year now and couldn't be happier. The staff consistently delivers courteous and prompt assistance, and the upkeep of the property is Aabulous. While the rent might be slightly higher compared to comparable buildings nearby, the quality justifies the cost!
