I love my apartment, but what really sets it apart are the kind staff that always chat with me when I stop by (or say hi when Im rushing to class). Having such positive, friendly, and staff actually helps has really made my stay here amazing. also, the leasing department is also kind and they do a great job placing people in apartments to fulfill their needs. Definitely give this place a look and dont knock it for the cement floors, a carpet or two go a long way and its easy to clean!

I returned this summer to Vue53 in Hyde Park from Atlanta. I was pleasantly surprised that Eurydice Echols was able to assist me in subletting the exact same apartment that I had last summer. All the staff are perfect! They are experienced, consistent, and mature. Maintenance issues are resolved promptly. My smoke detector battery, and light bulb were replaced within hours after submitting my request. The University and Chicago police ensure that the surrounding community is safe with friendly officers on foot and/or police cars stationed every 2-3 blocks. Besides the spectacular view from my apartment, I enjoyed taking my grandchildren to Nichols Park across the street. The proximity to shopping is unbeatable. Target is next door, and the Hyde Park Produce Market and CVS Pharmacy are a block away. Hopefully, I’ll get my Vue53 apartment back again next summer!

vue53 has been everything I thought it would be and then some, upon moving in the staff and security were so Fffable and courteous and we're so helpful in any which way. I've been here a year now and I've become quite comfortable here, everything was clean the furniture is comfortable and all the services I really haven't had a complaint about. I look forward to sticking around for awhile.

The people don't honor their lease offers. They make you sign your lease at a high rate and then keep giving discounts to people who sign up later (for a better Auite). I would advise to hold off signing the lease, or simply find another place. Not as good as it looks from outside. They put a lot of pressure on residents to review the apartments. Also don't completely trust the reviews on Google or Facebook since they usually make people write reviews in lobby, or hand out gift cards for that! Much better apartments available for cheaper prices. And the gym gets much useless if you are coming here for that.

If you want to live in a jail with a ton of restrictions then this is your place. This is a glorified dorm advertised as an Aad for people who want to live and sleep in a library. Building mgmt treats you horribly. They misrepresent things and are unreasonable. I can't wait to move.

I wouldn't recommend renting an Apace at Vue 53. You've got much better places in Hyde Park at reasonable prices. You would be charged much more than what you see on their website. I got two bikes stolen from the building on two separate occasions and they did nothing to fix the security issues. The areas are small compared to other places that cost less than half the price and have better security. They also charge high fees if you're paying with your card through their website. I was also charged a $140 move out fee for normal wear and tear. You've got much better places in Hyde Park, don't get fooled by their fancy website.

This is Rlady, I would like to update my review, unless I can find a way to take it down all together. Yes we are in stressful times, and It's stressful for businesses as well.( I have been here for a couple years now without incident. Up until this most recent incident)The mgmt did end up reaching out to me and took care of me in a kind and legit way. To be fair the entire experience I have been used to with Vue 53 has been this way. It's safe, well kept and friendly. I would like to redact my previous statements.

The front door staff makes living in this apartment complex unbearable. They harass both guests and tenets by allowing neighbors to make anonymous noise complaints, wherein the door staff will knock on your door and tell your guests to leave or threaten to call the police. The biggest issue with this type of anonymous system is that it encourages disgruntled neighbors to spam call noise complaints, even if There's no noise, because you will automatically be fined regardless of the merits of the complaint by the front door staff. I have received over a dozen noise complaints for talking in my unit with two people at room level with no music before 10pm, and have been threatened by the hostile front door staff. I feel legitimately threatened by the front door staff, who have no discretion in when to knock on your door for legitimate grievances, and as a result make me feel unsafe in my own "home". It has gotten so bad to the point that I have considered terminating my lease due to the sustained campaign of harassment. I have tried to find a solution with the building mgmt to the harassing anyonymous calls, yet the night staff will still invade your privacy irrespective to the merits of the call. 0/10 wouldn't recommend to anyone due to the overt hostility of the staff, which can be scary at times. The front door staff can be so hostile that they won't allow you to wait inside the lobby, during the winter no less, for Uber. I have waited 5 minutes for a ride in the lobby and been assailed by the front door staff, who state that I must wait outside because "they don't like me" being in the lobby, or in other words they just don't like me. The rent is absurdly high to live in a concrete prison. That being said, the maintenance staff is incredibly kind and willing to help. I have lived in multiple apartments and I have never experienced anything remotely close to this bad. VUE53 isn't worth your time.
