Hyde Park Towers has been newly renovated and the outward appearance appears to be a nice place to live. But there are details to be aware of: 1) There is a monthly utility fee in addition to your rent. Late fees are generated on the 2nd of the month for as much or more than $100.(*$100 for 1 day late is a bit extreme.) While the security team is excellent, there are many times the front door is not manned and any one can walk on to the elevator and wonder thru the bldg. For the most part, the maintenance team is good but many times repairs go unaddressed because there is one maintenance person who lazy and will half fix or not fix the problem in your unit. Otherwise, the units are pretty much up to date and of course, the building is in an excellent location.

The front door staff are amazingly helpful, even with the mess of construction going on. I haven't had any issues with moving in and getting help when needed. The unit I have is nice, but it's clear that the renovation was a little rushed. There are flecks of paint on the floor, a couple of small scuffs in places, and some loose outlets; nothing major. Overall, it's been very nice.

Hyde Park Tower Apartments has been going through a major renovation over the past year and a half. All hallways, parking garage, gym, community room, lobby, mail room and laundry room. In addition to that, each apartment is also being renovated as units open up. The management company is also dealing with mechanical issues like plumbing and exterior maintenance. With all of this happening at the same time, we not only share the property with other residents, but also all of the trades people working in the building during the day. Unfortunately, all of this noise and disturbance is also aggravated by 3 elevators that are being replaced one at a time. That disturbance should have not been a big issue, but the elevators were not maintained properly over the years, so there are many time we are all sharing 1 elevator. Think what that would be like on move in or out day. If this building is still someplace you would like to live, I would wait until 2017 when most of this work should be completed.

Excellent community within which to live. Very diverse community. Everyone in the building appears to be friendly and helpful. Staff greet you by your name and services rendered in your unit are exceptional.Apartments are large and the staff make coming home a welcoming experience.

I unfortunately had a highly disappointing experience during my visit to Hyde Park Towers. The leasing agent was 20 mins late and didn't acknowledge me when she arrived. My initial inquiry was for a 1bd 1ba for a July 15th move-in. I was told that there was an availability and hence a tour was scheduled. Well once in the leasing office, I was told that there wasn't an available unit that met my requirements and that I was mis-informed and that she didn't know why I was told of such. She didn't go any further to assist me. I am relocating from Georgia to Chicago and so I was on borrowed time and I really felt like Hyde Park Towers leasing team wasted my precious time. Hopefully if you're looking to make this property your future home that you have a better experience than I. GOOD LUCK!!

I really enjoy living at Hyde Park Tower. The staff and tenants are all very friendly and feels like a home. I also appreciate the diversity of people living in the building. There are students from University of Chicago mixed with working professionals and families. The neighborhood is safe, close to downtown with walkable shops and restaurants in Hyde Park. I'm excited about the Whole Foods opening 2 blocks away! Connected garage parking is great. My only concern with living here is the raise in rent when your lease is up. I signed for another year but if there is another $200 increase in rent for my unit I will be forced to move.

Hyde Park Towers is what I looked for in an apartment when I moved to Chicago. It's in a safe area, extremely close to Lake Michigan and the city. They are very prompt with work needing to be attended too and all he staff members are very friendly.

Hyde Park tower has been my home for the last two years. The community homes are filled with modern appliances and beautiful wood flooring, with breathtaking views of the city and lake. I love the convenience of having an exercise room, laundry and lounge area on the premises. The area is awesome so close to everything , shopping ,restaurants.hotels, museums and schools, lake and parks. They have the most courteous and professional staff from the administrative officers, doorman to the maintenance crews. I would recommend Hyde Park Tower to my friends and family.

Hyde Park Tower APT is my first APT at Chicago. The service is quite satisfy and the people work in the APT are very friendly. It is located a convenient place to commute the University of Chicago. Furthermore, I like to see the lake from my home and park my care in specious garage in the APT building.
