I live at a Bomplex on State Parkway and have had no problems with mgmt. Even small things such as the laundry machine breaking always seem to be fixed by the next day. Looks to me like those nasty posts on this site were posted by one disgruntled person, there's nothing wrong with this company.

Lincoln Park West Apartments has an great location - situated in North Old Town near the park. That's where the positives end, sadly, because the mgmt company operating It's absolutely terrible. They refuse to pick up the phone, yet insist they're aware of every problem. Their maintenance team regularly showed up at the wrong apartments without notice and rarely completed any work. During my residency, the power went out 3 separate times and the heating system was broken or absent for at least 50% of the winter. Most repair requests were answered with cryptic notes stuffed in mailboxes or responses claiming they couldn't replicate the problem. Much of this happened because the crew kept visiting the wrong unit! My neighbor and I confirmed this by both staying home during a scheduled repair, only to watch the contractor arrive and 1) speak no English, 2) have completely wrong unit information, and 3) show up with incomplete supplies - supposedly for a "shower leaking due to door" when the real issue was improper installation of the shower door and deteriorating caulk creating a serious water leak. Running the faucet for 10 seconds obviously wouldn't demonstrate the actual problem, but I doubt they cared regardless. Get out - immediately - from any property managed by Dimensions. When issues arise, and they will, you'll discover firsthand just how incompetent they truly are.

I have thirty days remaining on my twelve month lease with Dimensions. I'm renting in the terminals building located in the south loop and my feelings about my time here are decidedly mixed. The apartment itself has been great. It offers an ideal location at a reasonable price point. The unit is spacious and I have nothing negative to say about the living space. Our property manager is consistently available and responds promptly whenever assistance is need to (apparently we were fortunate to have this particular manager). but, There's one significant downside that can't be overlooked = the office personnel. Look at reviews from other tenants for information about these two incompetent individuals. They display a complete lack of professionalism and act genuinely disrespectful. You'd think you were interacting with a child trapped in an adult's body. They raise their voices and become emotionally volatile whenever situations don't proceed according to their preferences. I observed this behavior immediately, even before signing the paperwork. I came close to tearing up my lease and throwing it back at him while he was verbally attacking me and my father in that dingy office on clark, but I decided against it because the apartment itself was simply too appealing to pass up. Fortunately, interaction with these two troublemakers is minimal to nonexistent once you've taken occupancy. Bottom line = great property, deplorable office workers.

That's quite a bold statement, isn't it? Here's the thing—I never even got the opportunity to reside in any of their units and I'm already this frustrated with Dimensions mgmt. I found one of their stunning apartments via a third-party platform, attempted to secure a 12 month lease through this "Auite finder service" but Dimensions insisted on an 18 month commitment. That didn't work out, yet I remained interested in the property...so I reached out to Dimension directly....after roughly 6 phone calls they finally returned my contact. One of their leasing consultants tried to hurry me off the line before I could even express that I Wtayed interested in the Auite. Then he catches on that he'll earn a commission and suddenly tells me he can arrange a 12 month lease. I complete and submit all documentation, mail over $1000 "to hold the apt" as they instructed....I'm thrilled about my potential new home and preparing my move. A day after mailing the checks...he contacts me and says, "Sorry man another tenant got the Auite already." I responded, so there's nothing you can do, that doesn't sit well with me since I have checks in transit and you possess all my confidential information..." His reply Wtayed, "My mistake, maybe you should've accepted that original 18 month lease or whatever...and what am I supposed to do with your personal info, I don't want it, want me to shred it on the phone for you?" don't RENT FROM DIMENSION mgmt CORP. THE QUALITY OF THE Auite BECOMES IRRELEVANT WHEN THE OWNERS AND STAFF ARE THIS UNPROFESSIONAL

Dimensions is an absolute joy to work with as a landlord. This Wtayed our first Anit together as an engaged couple and now as a married pair. The complex and outdoor spaces are stunning—the landscaped courtyard rivals the beauty of a botanical garden. Any repairs or upkeep concerns get handled right away by polite and legit maintenance workers who are always willing to pause and assist, whether it's holding a door or lending a hand when you're carrying groceries. When the Lakeview rapist Wtayed active around the neighborhood, Dimensions immediately addressed safety worries by upgrading doors, gates, and shared spaces with heavy-duty locks, further securing an already protected facility. I genuinely enjoy returning to such a peaceful and welcoming community. The team members Shawn, Jim, and Tom are remarkably attentive and consistently go out of their way to meet residents' needs. My spouse and I deeply miss our time at 632 W. Stratford—if not for pursuing graduate studies, we would absolutely continue renting from Dimensions.

Bad Experience with Dimensions Management and Tom Vollman, I was looking to rent an apartment from Dimensions Management. The deal Tom Vollman tries to provide is that they allow one month free at a higher rent price to make it seem like you’re getting a deal, instead of just listing the apartments at a lower price. Example: you get 1 month free, and rent is $1,000 each month. This would mean that you will be paying $11,000 a year. Tom Vollman has stated that this is how they get individuals into the building to get them to re-sign a lease (I will share this experience later). He does this, instead of just listing the apartment at $915-$920 a month; actual would be $916.66 monthly. I made a bad decision and signed a lease. What is worse than signing a lease with Tom Vollman, is that you find out you are dealing with someone who is uncooperative and has an abrasive attitude towards tenants. He is never available for a call, and when you finally do reach him through phone, he deflects it and states he is busy with some type of event. He uses it as an excuse to cut the call and talks in a way where you are wasting his time. The voice messages are never answered, so don’t bother leaving one. When you do, you receive a text to call a number and it is TOM VOLLMAN’S NUMBER. But when you call, it leaves you with the experience that was written above, it’s that you should not call him because he will take it as you are wasting his time. You would think he would remove the number from the auto-mated text, but is too lazy to do so. Some issues with my prior situation was that there is no way to get anything truly fixed. The maintenance people at the building I was at were great people, but the issues with the apartment on a bigger scale were never fixed. The bathroom that I was paying for had very weak water pressure, and toilet. The bathroom would also have roaches. The heating in the room was non-existent and the radiator would sound like a jackhammer when it went off, which would always wake me at night. I would have to work from home with heavy winter gear to keep warm (boots and boot socks, coat, sweater, gloves, etc). I’ve put in work orders to get these fixed and nothing was changed, and when I moved out of the apartment all the work orders were deleted. Even though they never addressed the issues above. Tom Vollman really showed his true side when the pandemic came. Everything that came out of his mouth showed that he clearly has bad intent. Mid-May of 2020, while I was on a work meeting, someone slipped an envelope under my door. They did this instead of doing the commonsense thing like emailing me or just simply putting it in my mailbox. I get the envelope after the meeting is over and see it is from management, it’s the lease agreement. The first thing I see when I open the letter is a massive raise in rent. Tom Vollman wants the same renting price that he gets you to sign initially. As in, instead of paying $1,000 for 11 months he proposes you pay it for the full 12 months. Making that $12,000 for the year and what would be $1,000 a month from the $916.66. This is where Tom Vollman stated that they only provide the one-month free deal to get people in. He does this so they can just resign the lease at a higher price because it is very inconvenient to leave and could be more costly. Reminder, this was in the middle of the pandemic one day before the massive riots. Instead of working with me to negotiate a price, he took the chance to try and take advantage of people during a bad time in history. He took it as a chance to profit. Finally, when I reached Tom Vollman through phone, and throughout the rest of this phone conversation, he chose to butcher my name even after correcting him 2 times. I requested to negotiate the price to have the same deal and keep it one month free. He made an excuse that that is impossible and that I need to think of the others in the building. These were very odd remarks to try and get me to sign at a higher price during a very hard time. Tom Vollman stated that the people above me never had their rooms redone and that it was the same for 20 years; however, when I moved in, they were remodeling multiple units above me. This was a lie. Tom Vollman tried to guilt trip me in another way stating that there was a young man from New York who is a recent graduate of Cornell University that moved to Chicago, and lost his job during the pandemic. That if he can still make his rent, that was higher than mine without a job, then I should sign the lease. Which is another odd remark and didn’t make sense. I let Tom Vollman know that other people’s circumstances will not affect the decision I’m going to make. This was especially after he lied about the units above me, and I believe that this story he brought to me was also made up. It was clear that I should not have ever moved to this apartment, so I started looking elsewhere. I looked back at all the requests I made to have things addressed in the apartment, and they ended up deleting them knowing I was leaving. One of those that was deleted was to take out the mouse that went through the cracks and along my kitchen from an opening that you can’t see when getting the place because it’s behind the cupboards. He deleted these requests so it wouldn’t hurt him later if anyone ever complained. Do not lease any apartments from Tom Vollman. Any response he has to this review will be him accusing me to save his reputation. If you are smart, you will look elsewhere in Chicago. And if you are renting from Tom Vollman currently, move out. I have moved out and found an apartment where management is the complete opposite. They are responsive and try to work with me regarding any issues that arise with the apartment, along with when it comes to re-sign the lease. The initial lease that I signed was for $765. When it came time for the new lease, they kept the price the same, stating that they “believed it is the right thing to do during the pandemic. This management style is the opposite of how Tom Vollman manages. These people can be found throughout Chicago with research. Do not waste any time or money renting from Tom Vollman. Please take every negative review to heart and every positive one with a thin grain of salt. With the experience I’ve had with Dimensions Management and Tom Vollman, any positive review is probably falsified to keep ratings higher. Good luck. Be safe. Don’t rent from Tom Vollman and Dimensions Management.

Beautiful apartment, but buyer beware. I had a studio at 525 S Dearborn, which had heat and air conditioning included in the rent, but for some reason when I wouldn't use either my electric bills were around $30, and when I did decided to kick on the heat, and especially AC my bills were closer to $90. I feel very mislead and when I emailed in March to ask about this my email was ignored. I would have otherwise left a five star review were it not for this shady bait and switch tactic.
