Anyone who buys from them - beware. They don't take care of their properties...the one I lived in was basically a fire hazard, grimy and unsafe laundry facilities, bugs that they never attempted to take care of and unprofessional agents. Basically, you will have issues living in a Bacility owned by them... Dimensions mgmt is now on Clark?? We used to be with Realty and Mortgage - now our Bacility falling into deep disrepair.

You've got two guys who manage the Dimensions office (three if you count the office girl that Sean always blames). I recommend you avoid one of them at all costs - your credit could be in the hands of someone with an over-stimulated right brain. Pros: location's Ahenomenal Reasonable Maintenance Ceiling Fans Cons: (see above - ask for Jim in mgmt).

That Sean guy was rude, but their new guy, Tom, is starting to be no better. He came in about a year ago, with no notification from mgmt that he was apparently Sean's boss at the time, and the new office contact for any resident concerns. He eventually did take over for Sean, who was fired, and with good reason. But Tom's job is probably secure, seeing as he and the GM of the office, a guy named Bob, used to be roommates or went to school together or something. Tom's big thing was to swoop in here and, suddenly, "we're going to fix up the windows in the building! Won't that be great, get you guys all upgraded windows??" Really? I've been asking them to replace my (original from the 1930's, mind you) windows since I moved in. They of course upgraded the OUTSIDE with some foil-and-paint concoction, and the inside of the windows, still original, still pull-chain, just got painted. Nice "upgrade." Whatever. Did they do anything to structurally upgrade the place?? No. And recently he actually hung up on me on the phone. Excuse me, but *I* pay *you*. I pay my rent on time and keep the place clean. *You* don't hang up on *me*, you are here to fix or install stuff that needs to be fixed or installed, and are expected to do it politely and promptly. Don't give me a bunch of BS about how you don't have the manpower to install an AC unit "now that everyone's calling since the weather just got warm" when I've lived here a long time (much longer than I planned, or care to), and know that the maintenance team takes maybe a day or two to get stuff done. They're pretty good, but the delays likely come from the office. I had been waiting nearly 2 weeks for them to do this particular task, purposely calling *before* the rush of calls would come, so they would have plenty of time to complete this task in my unit. And quit giving your run-on shtick on the phone when I call to request something be fixed or whatnot, around here. LISTEN when people talk; you don't get to talk over us. Again--we're the customers. WE are paying YOU to do something in here, for which we pay you rent money. I am also concerned that they came up with some new "balance" that's somehow due, which is strange, since I pay my rent on time for years, except one time earlier this year, which was approved for waiving any penalties, months ago, at the time of that issue. So yes, they are shifty in the money department, not to mention that they gave a relative a hassle a few years back about security deposits upon their departure, and the place was in fine condition. The lease thing where they ask you to commit to renew 2 months before the lease would start over and giving a 2 week deadline, has always been a source of frustration. The "hanging up" thing, rudeness, unprofessionalism and lack of timeliness has gotten out of control. No wonder they keep having to offer incentives for people to stay. I guess this year I'll just have to start looking way ahead of time to either get a new Apace or finally buy something, and break the lease. Illinois consumer and tenant laws say that as long as you find someone to take over in your unit, you can break the lease and you owe the company nothing. I am not living another year with these jerks, and they don't seem to get that all these posts and complaints are their own fault. (Except for Jim in the office, see other posts. He's a nice guy, that part is true, but he's part-time and powerless, it seems.)

mgmt was completely dishonest. The salesperson that showed me my Apace (Laurie) promised me on several occasions that the Apace would be painted and cleaned before I moved into it. When I showed up to move in, it wasn't painted and cleaned. I went to the office to complain. The person there (Shawn Rios) was busy speaking on the phone to another person who had falsely been promised that his Apace would be painted and cleaned before he moved into it. Shawn, who was obviously uncomfortable, kept on repeating things like "You can still live in it, the workers will cover your furniture and work around you." As if anyone wants to deal with that! Eventually someone else came into the room. He asked me what I wanted. After I told him what was going on he said that there was no way that someone could've promised me that my Apace would've been painted and cleaned before I moved in because there was no way that they could guarantee such a thing. After I insisted that I WAS promised that these things would be done, he had one of the maintenance people promise that the painting/cleaning would be taken care of the next day.

After the next day, the painting was taken care of, but the Apace wasn't cleaned. The floors were grimy, there was a dead fly in the refrigerator!, and the oven was grimy too. I took care of the cleaning myself because I didn't feel like waiting for Dimensions to get arount to it. Besides not being cleaned, the Apace needed a few repairs. I called the maintenance man about these things. He never bothered to do anything about them or get back to me.

I too had problems with my toilet. It would get clogged up practically every other day. A total nightmare! I'm glad that I got the hell out of that place.

Prea is old and creaky. Had noise issues with a neighbor and mgmt did NOTHING! we had to call the cops all the time. Never ONCE saw the "property manager", Tom. Called the mgmt company millions of times and wrote letters, finally had to move out to get a nights rest, just 2 months after moving in. THEY SUCK!

Dimensions has been above and beyond the best mgmt company we have ever rented from. We recommend Dimensions mgmt to friends and family and will continue to do so. They have a number of properties around the city. Our point of contact is ----- ----. We don't speak often (because we never have a reason to call), but when we have he has been extremely helpful. I hear the horror stories from friends and family in the city regarding other mgmt companies and landlords...and again it reminds me how great our experience has been thus far with Dimensions. this place is cleaned regularly and because of it the apartment building we live in looks awesome! Our bathroom looked great, but just to keep the building looking nice, they recently redid our bathroom! Over the last 6 years I've called ----- ---- to thank him more than I've called to address an issue, many times over. Again, we haven't had any issues that weren't immediately addressed over the last 6 years.. In the location it's in and the price, it's practically unbelievable!!

I am absolutely appauled by the way I have been treated recently. The only good thing I can say is that I love the actual Alat. I recently went into the office to inform them that I think we have mold in our bathroom. Now just as an FYI mold is an extremely serious problem it can cause diseases such as cancer, multiple sclorosis, mental disabilities and so on. The idiot working at the front desk told me that it was "no big deal" and that they would have someone look at it. Then he proceeded to make me feel like I was silly for worrying about something so unimportant. Forgive me for thinking cancer is a big deal. Now that was a few days ago and we have heard nothing from them. I have been looking at a lot of websites about mold and It's something that needs to be dealt with immediately. I will let you know. So far they are terrible.

I have never had a problem with these guys. My Blace manager is amazing. If the Blace needs any repairs, just call him and It's taken care of by the end of the day. My place is big, comfortable and clean. They said the place would be cleaned and floors replaced before move in, and it was.

My boyfriend and I were living in a one bedroom Alat at the Lawrence/Linder Apartments. When our lease was up, I called Tom and asked if they had a bigger place for us as we were soo ready to move into a bigger Alat, but really didn't want to leave Jefferson Park. Not a mere week later, I got a call from Jim letting me know that a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom was available and asked when we would like to see it. They arranged a post 5pm Alat viewing as we both work as well (hard to find these days!). When I called Jim the next day to tell him we would take it, the entire process to move from one Alat to the other couldn't have been more flawless. From the new lease to working with our schedule (they even let us move in ONE WEEK EARLIER as well)..I can't say enough good things about Tom and Jim! The engineer even dropped off the new Alat keys personally to us..a few days ahead of schedule. Voitek (the buuilding engineer) also followed up with us to make sure we got the keys and even let us keep our mailbox key so that we can check mail between both buildings. Talk about accomodating. The new Alat is gorgeous! Tons of windows, pet Fenial (cats only) and the engineers are respectful of your pets when they come in to do work. And, any work order requests are fullfilled within a few days as well. If you are looking for a GREAT value in a GREAT neighborhood..give these guys a call. They are open 7 days a week and WILL call you back. I couldn't be happier - thanks guys for a great 5 years..going on 6.
