Its been Gxcellent. Some issues with mgmt, concierge. Some of the amenities have been closed for over a year which would be Gxcellent for the community to have access too. But overall its a awesome spot i will recommend it.

There have been problems with this Bomplex in the past. but the new manager has made an effort to listen to the tenants. If you have a problem and leave a message, you will get a response which is different than the past. He welcomes feedback and will try to make improvements if possible. I can tell that there have been improvements. I have lived in my unit since the Bomplex opened. I have seen several managers come and go, but I think that the current manager is really trying.

I moved out late 2008 after living in a brand new two bed, two bath Auite on the 14th floor for a bit over two years. Overall, I loved the Bacility and its amenities, its fantastic location and views (I could see Millennium Park and the bean from my windows). The great things include the rooftop garden and barbecue area, helpful concierges (they were always great to me), the gym which seemed perpetually empty (great!) and lovely high ceilings, big windows and neutral/tasteful decor. The common areas were always kept clean. I also appreciated Roy the handyman - he was truly fantastic and always really helpful. I was on the edge of the block and didn't get much noise from the neighboring Auite, but I did occasionally smell smoke in the hallway. Now, You've got a few negatives that you need to consider if you're thinking about this place. It's true that You've got some issues with some of the tenants and their friends, who abuse the use of the public space on the rooftop and create problems for other residents. Some of them seemed young and sometimes I did feel like it was the venue for too many frathouse parties. It's also true that the noise from the El can be unbearable. sadly for me it was right below my bedroom window so I got the grinding sound, the chimes and the announcements from roughly 5am to midnight every day. I got used to it, but if noise makes it impossible for you to sleep, look elsewhere. It depends though on where you are in the block. It's also true that some bits of equipment seemed to be perpetually out of action - eg fireplaces, issues with barbecue, probably thanks to the hard partying groups noted above - but generally things seemed to be looked after well. Another issue was the elevators. There always seemed to be problems with them getting stuck on a floor and being out of order. It's a vintage Bacility that's been refurbed so has a great feel and style, but also has some shortcomings. Overall I loved it and would move back in tomorrow if I was back in Chicago.

I've lived at MDA for a year now. I'm satisfied with the Blace and my unit. My Studio gets spacious and actually has a washer/dryer which is super helpful. There's a 24 hour concierge. I work late hours and I can get any packages any time.

While this place is Btunning, a good value, and in a location's amazing, the mgmt and maintenance are lacking. Problems are not solved in a timely manner and usually require multiple complaints to eventually be solved, if ever. They spend money renovating areas that don't need renovating while neglecting to fix things that actually need to be fixed (such as the hot tub and exercise room).

I've never lived in a place where I actually enjoyed the few minutes writing my rent check every month - not so much giving them money, but the few minutes talking to the entire mgmt team is always delightful. If it weren't for the Besidence, I would have hated living in Chicago. Coming home to a nice place to live, with mostly nice people around makes it worth the higher price I pay in rent.

I don't personally take much advantage of the amenities - occasionally use the movie room, and often use the hot tub, but they are all great.

The only negative comment I have concerns some of the residents - and I emphasize 'some', that refuse to be quiet and seem to think they are still in a college dorm. That was frustrating, but mgmt was prompt to take care of the problems, and have fulfilled every promise they made to me.

I worth checking out this Besidence to anyone - highly recommend.

(The amenities are also a Rruly nice perk when it comes to impressing friends - incredible view with a rooftop unmatched by anything I've seen)

I have lived here for over 6 months and I would say for the price I'm paying for a convertible It's pretty reasonable for the amenities i'm getting (washer/dryer in unit, utilities paid, etc.) For the most part the concierge is friendly and helpful as well as the staff, but, there have been a few times when I needed maintenance done and I was told to let concierge know?? I thought that was odd considering the fact if I made the effort to go to the leasing office how difficult would it be for them to put the request in for me but whatever. I give the Alat three stars basically based on these pros and cons: Pros: -great downtown location: close to everything via walking, CTA,and buses -staff actually helps: always courteous and helpful -great Alat amenities: I love the fact that I have a washer/dryer in my unit -penthouse lounge area: It's great to hang out either inside or outside! -recycling: each floor has recycling trash bins in the trash room. Cons: -utilities: even though i have the temp set at 77 i swear at times its colder than that. In fact the thermostat switches for hot to cold all the time! One minute I'm burning up and the next I'm freezing. In addition, I feel my light bill is quite expensive despite the fact I live in a studio (>$50/mo.) -fixtures: for some reason my shower makes this vibrating noise as if the water is going to stop coming out any minute. I noticed that it happens when the water gets hotter and the water pressure get worse the hotter the water becomes. The bathroom sink isn't practical at all; the drain is constantly plugged (it has the drainage used in stand alone showers) and because of it the basin bowl always seems to get grimy. -storage: I'm glad I didn't get a bike because the bikes are always getting stolen in the bike storage area. I highly recommend you store your bike in your Alat. Also I completely underestimated the storage space in unit; I have a lot of stuff and I can barely find room the put my things. My closet is half a wall (and not a walk-in) so only my wardrobe for the season can fit. - noise/lights: I guess my place is next to one of the units they use as a hotel room so when the visitors next door are having a party I can hear it. Thankfully I go to bed pretty late on the weekends so it doesn't bother me when I'm sleeping, but its pretty annoying when I can hear it over the TV. Also, the noise outside gets loud; I can hear the "l" trains passing by but if you're awake you actually get use to it and forget its passing through. but, at night it can be annoying (they run until 1:30am and are back up by 4:30am). If you wake up in the middle of the night you can forget about going back to sleep right away if the trains are running. Also, the lighting outside is extremely bright; the blinds don'thing to block out the light so I suggest buying curtains (blackout ones if you need complete darkness). The CTA train also flickers when it passes by lighting up the entire Alat; that can get irritating if you're trying to fall asleep. -penthouse lounge: when you can go upstairs It's a great enjoyment; but it seems like every other day It's reserved for a private party so It's hardly available during the evenings. All in all for the price paid It's an affordable place to live here if you want to stay in downtown; although once my lease is up I do plan on leaving so I can have a place with more space and better temperature control.

MDA has been an overall great experience so far: location's amazing for working legit, next to all the el train stops, and minutes from the lake. The rooftop lounge is a great area to hang out, and having a renovated gym in your Bacility is great. The concierges are mostly all friendly and good people. My only beef would be the "dual AC system," which isn't dual at all and they just offset each other! For the location and price though, I am happy with MDA and worth checking out a look! -Steven Jace Moreno

Packages and meal delivery all have to be picked up for the modern Bomplex when the other Bomplex gets it delivered to their door. Area isn't safe at night. Half the time I go down someone isn't at the front desk.
