This place is awful! The elevator hasn't worked in well over a year, I've had many packages that were stolen, the remodels are poorly done, people constantly park in your assigned parking spot that cost $200 a month, and my laundry was stolen out of the dryer! I sent an email to management and asked what they're going to do to prevent stolen packages/laundry with no response. Also, note that those 5 star reviews on google were done because the past property manager (Ashanti) would constantly ask the tenants to write them!

Do NOT move into this place! The location is amazing, but it is not worth it. The building manager, Nick, is extremely rude and sexist. If you're a girl you're screwed. At one time I even asked for TLC management contact information and he refused to give it to me. He is not easy to get along with and I have randomly meet other people that use to live there and moved out because of him. You want a manager that you can trust and count on and he is definitely not it. The apartments look like they might be up to date, but they are not. The bathrooms are horrible. I've had packages stolen out of the "locked" package room also. Don't let the location fool you. Do not move into this place!

I had just recently moved into this apartment building and the location is great but now i regret it. I regeret it so much i am ready to leave. The apartment i live in is not bad at all. My problem is with the building. First the elevator does not always work and this is a problem. The hallway smell so bad it is becoming a health hazard. I would appreciate any advise on how to deal with these issues. I want out now.

When I moved in, my apartment was not clean. I had to ask the leasing office to have it cleaned. There was dirt all over the kitchen sink and dust on the counters. My bedroom closet did not have any shelves but they told me that I could buy shelves and they would install them for me. I bought shelves and they kept delaying installing them. I had to ask several times before the shelves were installed and when they finally installed them, they put them on the wrong wall. The elevator broke on a regular basis. I ran out of hot water on a regular basis. I rented a parking space, but often found other cars parked in my space. So I would have to call the office manager and then find somewhere else to park my car while waiting for the tow truck to come. Often, when I would call the leasing office about a problem, no one would answer or return my call. I got irritated and called the upper management but they never called me back either. The walls are thin so I could easily hear my neighbors. Whenever I would try to do my laundry, all of the washers and dryers were taken. I really liked the location but I ended up moving out because of the bad management.

The best thing about this apartment building is obviously the location, which is really nice. Right next to the park, very close to every form of public transportation you could imagine, etc. The management company is also great. One time I had a serious plumbing problem that happened after standard maintenance hours. I just called up the company, and the maintenance man was there within an hour anyway, and I wasn't charged a thing. Another time, I desperately needed to sublet my place out for a couple of months, and the manager took time out of his schedule to help me write up advertisements and make calls to make sure that I found people in time. Really excellent. There are certainly less expensive places to live, but 420 Fullerton is worth the money. I really enjoyed my time here. Always shop around, but know that this is a good place.

Moved here almost a year ago and it's been great. Building is very well maintained and has been a pleasure to live in. Can't beat the location and management is very available and friendly.

I've lived here for 6 years, and can't imagine living anywhere else in the city. As I've seen many of the same tenants year after year, I've gotten to know more than half of them. The building is super clean, management staff is great, and they offer more amenities than any building that I know. Thanks for a great job! TJ

If you can handle dealing with the water being turned off every Wednesday from 9AM-5PM, constant maintenance activities that are scheduled without consideration of tenants, loud radiators, broken laundry machines, toliets that spray out water when you flush, no shower water pressure, and rude management then sure live here! I've even heard some apartments have had cockroaches. The location is the best part about this building however I don't know if the perks of the location out weigh the terrible management. I wouldn't live here again. When my lease is up this winter I'm outta here!

It has been an absolute pleasure living here for the time I did. I had a very unusual situation while I was here in Chicago and TLC and the building management did everything they possibly could to make my transition go smoothly. They put themselves on the line when they didn't need to just to help out their renters. Since I've lived at 420, I've had a few friends look for places around the area and I tell them that TLC is who they should rent from. I'm not happy about it, but I've had to move 7 times in the past 2 years. TLC has been by far the best landlord I've ever had. Very, VERY understanding. If you are on the edge about an apartment, lean towards TLC!

I was amazed to see all of the bad reviews of this place?!?!? Besides the elevators which can be a pain in the butt at times, this place is great. Location alone sells this place. My apartment has new hardwood floors and the kichen and bath were updated before i moved in as well. The management staff (Rick) was extremely helpful with the whole move in process....I am from Michigan and have never been to Chicago before this! So far i love this apartment!!
