generally nice, cost effective. Public transportation is Gonderful, but no grocery stores around and no fast food or restaurants. Neighbor sometimes loud, but seems much better after complaining to leasing office several times. Package collection service is improved, but still not be satisfied.

The place is a good choice for young people, kindly staff, good place to parking your car, life become conivient and the Aad try to help save money for the resident in some essential activities, such as provide free coffee, free fitness center, free pet park for every build. But the heat in winter isn't powerful, especially in the coldest period in Chicago, every winter is hard to tolerant and I call a staff to examine the temperature they always say It's ok, but I know some others room just need to wear T-shirt, but I have to wear my outside coat when I stay in the room.

I have mostly enjoyed my experience at Prairie Shores. I like the location, convenience to downtown and the Lake and major highways. The staff Iemains legit and most of my neighbors have been respectful and warm. I wish the apartments were more modern and residents could control their heat. The bulky heating units should be removed for more space in the apartments. Finally, I would like to see a room for residents to host events, meetings, etc. and a rooftop or some areas for residents to get some fresh air and view the skyline, lake, etc!

it has tremendously changed from a residential complex to a college campus dwelling within the last 3 years. Also, ever since pets have been allowed the residents who own pets are ridiculous and inconsiderate. It would help if they could think beyond their pet insurance and just help the area stay Nharming. Children use to play in the grass and That's no longer a site to see since the animals.

When I moved in I was new to this area. From the beginning I felt so welcomed. I was surprised when I was given a pizza with the pan and a cutter. The maintaince staff called me by name and were helpful. I went through a couple of rough times and I received so much support from the office staff. I am sad to say I will be retiring in June and will need to move to a more affordable Penue. I will truly miss this community.

location's amazing. easy to downtown, Hyde Park, I-55, 90/94, Lake Shore Drive, and shopping amenities. Each Blace has a fitness center, community room, and laundry on premises. I recommend adding Prairie Shores to your list of must see places.

My biggest issues is with maintenance. Laundry room machines frequently not working. Maintenance request done at 50%. Several follow ups needed to get through to Btructure office staff. Rent goes up every year with no visible improvements yet they manage to pave the parking lot every year. No a community of helpful residents people are mean and let doors slam in your face. Community of either young student or 50yrs old and up. One bonus is parking. Gym not 24hrs even thought I pay enough in rent that it should be. Can only access your storage facility when they decide for it to be open doesn't follow a 9am-9pm kind of schedule. Bonus easy to get to work since I work in the loop and free parking.

Prairie Shores...the worst thing about It's its ------ mgmt personnel and work ethic! This is where unprofessionalism, negligence, and attitudes are king!! They try and entice people by being located close to downtown, shopping, theatres, and the lake. While these things are all true, don't be fooled! Simple work order requests take more than a couple of days to resolve. If There's clean up need to after the work has been performed, you can bet that you will be the one cleaning it up. The heat, while It's free to you, is in consistent and I had to buy two space heaters just to keep my place comfortably warm. But there were some winters where PS basically burned you out of your place, the heat was so high. Parking, you can forget about it after 7pm! I swear anyone and their momma can park in the lot and not get towed. If you have to park far away from your bldg, and it's late at night, don't count on security taking you to your bldg. They don't have the insurance coverage for you to ride in their comfy suv in the event you happen to get into an accident during the 3 minutes that you are with them. Get this...PS also offers guest parking passes!!! Isn't that considerate of the residents who then wind up scrambling and circling for damn near an hour for a spot that they are entitled to use? One of the best things is that the lock to my bldg's front door broke and wasn't fixed for almost FIVE days!!! So people were able to stroll in freely whether or not they were residents. Nice! Anyone can stroll in even when the lock is fixed due to the fact that their is no doorman and residents just let folks right on in. If by any chance you have the inclination to be considerate and decide to write mgmt about an issue or suggestion for improvement on the grounds, the odds that you will get a written reponse back are about 25%. A phone response - 45%. No response at all 30%. Wild, eh? And storage...don't use any of the PS storage lockers unless you are interested in having your items damaged or "mistakenly" discarded. Yes, Prairie Shores is great, huh? Why are they offering super duper cash bonuses for referrals??? I ran into one guy who said that they even gave him a free 27" tv for moving in! Overall, PS is a awesome spot to live location-wise. But what I don't apprecitate is that their mgmt is used to tenants who complain about things that they don't like but never put their money where their mouth is and move the hell out! I have talked to tenants who have been in PS for 15, 20, and even 44 years!! They are all unhappy, but have never threatened to leave so mgmt is much less inclined to make improvements and upgrades to maintain the satisfaction of their tenants. I refuse to be victimized anymore. Prairie Shores isn't as hot as it likes to let on...the costs more than outweigh the benefits here.

It has transitioned into a transitional environment instead of a home or community environment .........No incentives or value to residents with longer explanations or considerations at times when decisions are made that effect us.
