We never actually moved in but the application process and concessions made by the management were extraordinary. I have no doubt that they would have been exceptional landlords, based on my experience.

Management is negligent and ignores requests of tenants. The units are really small and the building is in horrible shape. My neighbors have brown water almost daily from their facuets and the building refuses to come inspect or fix it. There is a heavy layer of dust that falls each and every day over the unit. The radiator system is as old as the building (at least 100 years) and bangs like someone is hitting a hammer over your head all day and night, all winter long. The building elevators are small. And again, brown water? for the price, you can do a lot better. This building should be torn down and rebuilt. It's a pit.

I lived in the Parkview Apartments at 1936 North Clark Street until moving out of state for work. The staff was great, responded quickly to any issues and the building was kept safe and well maintained. Definitely not a party building as the majority of the residents are young professionals- which I certainly preferred. Also, the location is pretty much the best Chicago has to offer. There is also a sundeck which grants residents both an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful view as well as socialize with fellow residents. Building management can be strict from time to time; however, its only to the benefit of the residents. I credit the building staff for keeping this gorgeous old building so immaculate and safe!

This is a old building- most are in chicago. If you don't care about a view- somewhere away from the lake might suit you better. If you do want a great view of the lake, gardens and the zoo- this is your place. It is very safe---- It has great transportation always. Dry cleaners, bank, starbucks, and a resturant in building. The roof top deck is the best I have seen. Go up there.

I live here now and cannot wait to get out. Temperature is consistantly either 60 or 90 and this is in the winter or summer. Burning money in a fire would be more enjoyable than living here for a year. Paper thin walls and the doorman is an A**hole! Dont waste your time or money. The location is great and the lobby looks nice but the living spaces are incredibly sub-par.

I LOVE living here! The location is tough to beat, as it is in the middle of EVERYTHING! I loved the rustic feel to my apt, crown molding, beautiful wood floors and the lobby is very elegant. I have absolutely NO complaints about this place other than the hallways, I think maybe a fresh coat of paint or just some general updating would be nice. I live in a studio and it is just me and I have lots of room & a HUGE closest! The bathroom & kitchen both are definitely on the smaller side, but I figured that's what I'd get with a studio. The elevators in the building are always working well and very convenient! I'm a big fan of the service elevator, especially since my apartment was right off of it, it made moving large things extremely easy! I've never heard my neighbors while I was actually in the apartment, which is good, although, in the hallway you can hear pretty much everything that's going on in each apt. The workout room is a nice feature since not all apt's have one, but it too could use some updating and some serious airflowage, as it's in the basement. Overall, I'll stay at the Park View apartments until I get married!

I checked this place out and the website www.parkviewchicago.com does this place no justice. I was so shocked at the room size and how old this building was. I know the buildings will be old, but this place was horrible. The deck was awesome and the lobby is also awesome. It has a dry cleaners and that is pretty nice but honestly, for the price, you can def. find something better. When i went to check this place out, it was my number 1 choice and it fell to my least favorite real fast. I would live in this place if you like living like a college kid, with no space and like paying the premium for living close to prime areas.

The building was okay, the lobby was gorgeous and the communal deck was well-kept but everything else about the place was very below average, especially for the price. I'd say live here if you have lots of money, don't care what your space looks like but want to live in a good location. Otherwise, I'd advise that you keep looking. There was a major spider and ant problem in this building, which from what I learned from my neighbors, was atleast causing problems for the floor I was living on...the people in the leasing office were nice but extremely disorganized.

Overall, the place is pretty nice. The roof deck is great and the management is pretty good. I had one maintenance request and it was handled quickly.

The shower water pressure (at least in my place) is terrible (dribbles out). Ckeck that out in your place before accepting. The gym is basic (2 treadmills, 1 elipse, 1 stair master, 1 universal) but free.

Watch out though. My rent was $755 last year. It increased almost 20% to $900 for this coming year, which is crazy. I think they are just trying to see if someone will pay more and eventually will drop the price to about $755 (which it should be). Anything more should get an awesome studio or a decent 1 bedroom.

I've lived in the building for the past two years and overall it was a good experience. I agree with other reviewers that the management left something to be desired and by the time I recognized one face they were usually replaced. I didn't have too many maintenance issue but when I put in requests they generally addressed them in a timely fashion.

Parking is a terror. My experience may be unique but one morning when I was leaving for school I was greeted by a brick in the passenger seat and quite a bit of stereo equiptment missing. And that wasn't the only time there was shattered window glass around.

You can't ask for a more convenient location. Great access to downtown buses and, as a student, located a reasonable and safe walk away from the 24 hour starbucks on north and wells. The lobby renovation turned out super and the sun deck is great during the summer. But I'm not exactly sure what's with the boom box hidden in the wall playing classical radio in the lobby as of late. Just a little creepy in my opinion.
