Don.t move here this building is over priced the only thing going good in this place is the lobby. Maintenance is poor turned over units are left like nothing was done. The manager sells the place like if it was the presidential palace but it is not. Leaks and a common thing here so if you move here bring your rain coat your gona need it. Bring some tools to do your own repairs because maintenance is always working on there owne projects so forget about service. The manager is always out were does she go. The owner is a egotistical ? who calls him sefl a cristian ha ha. Also the person who runs his company is a liar liar set his pants on fire and maybe he will tell the truth like he knows what that means. The owner of this building has no honor and no integrity niether the top people that run it for him they are his puppets he pulls and they move. If you don't play your out. I rather be out then to be a slave to such people. If they tell you they are going to do something don't believe them liars. Maybe that's why his loosing his $$$$$ to another liar like himself. Everybody knows about the feud that going on between liar and liar.

I've lived hear for almost 3 years. I like the building (1920s era hotel with THICK walls) and location but the management is some of the worst I've ever dealt with. It's gotten worse each year.

It's not that they are bad people - just incompetent on every level. It's so bad that the property owners fire old management and hire new every few months. In 2.5 years I have seen over five different faces in the office here!

The night watchman was fired months ago and so far has not been replaced. I'd like to say that my neighbors are all mature grown ups, but many of them are not - so on any given night with no night staff this place gets rowdy.

Rumor is that this building is going condo - so perhaps the owners are just trying to run all of the renters off with poor service... I know that I won't renew my lease here in 2006.

In summation:

The good: Nice old building in moderately good condition.

Maintenance seems to fix things quickly (if the incompetent manager remembers to alert them to your problem.)

Great location.

The bad: Horrible, incompetent management. High turn over in mangers. Increasingly not a good deal for this area. (At this point I would pay a few hundred extra for better service and a night watchman.) This building used to be pristine - under the new management it is visibly more dirty.

I maintain hope that the current manager will be fired and replaced by someone competent... but so far this building is 0-5 for good managers.

I miss living here. I am moving to Austin, TX and doing apartment research right now and I ended up on this site, so I have to say a few things. Trust me on this - you will enjoy living here.I had a large studio here with a good price for Lincoln Park. You are 5 minutes away from the beach, 3-5 dollars cab ride to all the DePaul bars. Theres a starbux open 24 hours a few block north (on North and Wells), right there also XSport Fitness - very nice gym - pool, sauna, hot-tub. Parking is bad, no doubt about it, but the buses 22 and 36 run all the time - i never waited more than 5 minutes for a ride downtown or up north. The area is super safe, never had a single problem. Doormans/security guards are great, staff management as well. Nothing really ever broke in the studio so I cannot say how the maintanence staff is. I just wish I can find exact same place in Austin right now, id take it on the spot. I wont even try to describe the sun-deck and the view - when u come visit you will see. Trust me they know its their big selling point, so they will show it. Only problem I had is the grill on the deck that was either out of gas or missing few pieces. But its still worth just goin up there - view of downtown, the zoo and the lake all combined. If you are looking for a decently priced place in the heart of all Chicago has, RENT HERE!

The management is fantastic, the location rocks, and the residents are super-cool.

i've lived at lincoln park west for about a year, and am very happy with this building. the staff is very nice, friendly, and helpful. maintenance responds quickly, and always fixes the problem. the building is older, and the water pressure isn't great, but the atmosphere makes up for it. maybe slightly overpriced, but if you can get a good deal the location is awesome.

I was searching through the website to find another apartment as I'm always being transferred around by my company. I actually used to live at Lincoln Park West and I loved it. Before you look at any building in Lincoln Park, look at this one first.
