I moved into Lake Grove Village in July of 2021. The staff at the complex is legit and my place is nice. I really enjoy living here. My Bacility is quiet and I feel safe traveling in the neighborhood. The mgmt company is responsive and I am pleased with my decision to move here.

I recently moved to Lake Grove Village and I can't disagree more. Its a beautiful Alat complex and kept up well. mgmt is responsive and I think it was a great idea that all vehicles parked in parking lot require proof of insurance to be registered with mgmt. Unlike other more expensive apartments There's plenty of parking and you actually have a choice for cable providers. I have two little girls and feel real secure in our neighborhood. A day doesn't go by that I don't see our security staff through out the building and surrounding area.

When we first moved here it was good. Neighbors, no rodent or roach problems. In 2007 is when the real trouble came, public housing complexes were being torn down . A great deal of the residents have come from the recently torned down public housing in the surrounding area. When my family moved here our family had 2 incomes, but I lost my job and instead of decreasing the rent it was increased (these are income based apartments). The mgmt staff made it clear that they were all about money. Everything here is poor and cheap. My former neighbors had a full drum set and ever beat could be heard and felt because the walls and floors are paper thin. Complaining to manangement did not help. Our last two months at that apartment we caught 4 mice and there was a roach infestation what would scare you out of your socks. The laundry facility works, SOMETIMES. Oh, I almost forgot if you love the smell of urine and feces on the elevator, this is the place for you. Two small girls went missing from this complex (3500 S. lake Park) and have not been found, so IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN DONT RAISE THEM HERE PLEASE! the lights in the parking lot are on sometimes and the so called security doesn't check the buildings. They just walk in the front lobby and out the back door. We purchased a brand NEW Nissan Altima and two days later the windshield was cracked. East Lake (the mgmt company) isn't responsible , but in order to park in the parking lot you MUST provide the office with proof of insurance.JUST DONT RENT HERE OR WITH EAST LAKE mgmt!!!! OH the rent is increased every Spetember 1st for "building beautification".

This is the WORST apartment complex I have ever lived in, in over 20 years. It's Best described as a Privately Owned Project Building. I recently moved here because the rent was a little cheaper than my previous apt at Lake Meadows; and the apartments over here were a bit more modern with wooden cabinets and new appliances. Beware, They only show the apartments at specified times, (early non-peak hours) because they dont want you to see the REAL LIVING CONDITIONS of this place. You've got soo many issues, I dont even know where to begin, A majority of the tenants are residents who use to live in the project buildings that were recently torn down in this area. The elevators smell like urine almost every single day. Maintenance is only available 8am-4pm, so after that time when people urinate in the elevators, you are forced to ride the enclosed elevator with that awful smell for the rest of the day, and on weekends, its much worse. The elevators seem to be out of order almost every weekend. People regularly smoke weed in the stairwells, so on many days when I return from work, the entire hallway smells like marijuana. The apartments are infested with roaches. We have never ever lived in a house with roaches before, so my son was terrified when we began seeing them all over our apartment, we spend over $50 per month on sprays and roach bombs, we have even hired exterminators who have told us, that even Orkin cant control the roach problem in this building. I have even spoken to maintenance to find out where are all of these roaches coming from. They are inside the walls so There's no way to really get rid of the infestation. The mgmt office is the most unprofessional group of individuals I have ever had to deal with in my life. They are rude and they don't follow up on any tenant issues, pretty much after you sign that lease you are on your own. This place is soo embarrassing that I dont even allow anyone to visit my home. On many days, i come home and You've got Jewels shopping carts parked in the lobby of the building or directly in front of the building. You've got times when people are begging for change in the building or thugs are trying to flirt or touch on you. My 10 year old son has been robbed by older teenagers that live in this complex. On several occasions there have even been gang slogans spray painted on the elevators. This place is just overall THE WORST. They make you go through such an extensive process to rent an apartment in here, but it really isn't worth the money you are saving or the problems that appear AFTER you move in. Moving into this Mess was the worst decision I have ever made in the past 40 years of my life.

This Apace complex is horrible. My girlfriend stays there and she spends half the week at my place because of the roach infestation. The little critters are traveling from different apartments looking for food because we always find them around the garbage can and see them crawl under the heaters and badly applied transitions on the wall. Some of the tenants are disgusting and piss in the elevator like animals. This building isn't ready for what's happening in this area. It's outdated and has too many problems to be contained plus the bad current tenants. My advice would be to stay away especially if you have children. This place has long way to go to attract more affluent tenants hell cleaner tenants.

The location of this community is great for me and my family. With the nice weather that we have been having, we have spent countless days walking over to the beach since the bridge is so close. We have also been able to walk to the nearest Jewelosco or walk over to the White Sox games. It helps out a lot that parking is included and so close to Lake Shore Drive That's makes my commute to and from work an absolute breeze. I have been able to find a parking spot in front of my Bomplex each time.

they raise the rent based on any amount earned even though it should go solely off base pay which means they will make you pay an amount based on non-guaranteed income. --------- Ippears a ----- and the apartments are the size of a glorified closet. (---------- visual), elevators work sometimes and There's no sites to see even though its off the lake front. Over priced, so-called low income apartments that a run down and poorly managed. If you are in dyer need just rent a room at the YMCA. Same size for about $300 less.

This building has a serious pest problem. I've contacted the office repeatedly about the roach situation, but they dismiss it like it's nothing. The roaches are everywhere—in the corridors, in the lift, at the main entrance, and throughout my unit. They literally followed me inside when I opened my door. I've gone through countless cans of Raid trying to deal with this myself. It's unacceptable. I can't even have guests over because the roaches are crawling all over the walls and furniture. I never dealt with this issue before moving here. Don't believe anyone who tells you this building is well-maintained and pest-free. I'm exterminating approximately 5-10 roaches daily! As of 9-8-2017, 3500 is infested!!!!! I can't wait until my 30-day notice expires so I can leave!!
