I was looking for an apartment or studio to rent close to Jackson Memorial Hospital and visited Jax Med Towers. My first bad impression was that there were no guards at the main door and I got into the elevator with no one noticing I had entered the building. NO SECURITY. As I continued my journey, I notice that the elevator walls, floors, buttons. Etc. are filthy dirty. As well as the hallways on each floor. It seemed as if they have not been cleaned for years. The lack of safety and cleaniness really shocked me. They also have a pool on the top floor which is closed and there is a fowl smell around it, as well as the whole building. It smells as if some animal died and was left there to rott forever. I would never rent at this location even if it was free of charge. The overall appearance is very poor. Its as if no one has kept up with the building for ages. I also noticed a lot of noise coming from inside the apartments. Thank you.

This apartment building is conveniently located next door to UM Hospital and across the street from Jackson Memorial Hospital. That is the absolutely only good thing about this building. The apartments are completely roach infested. There are roaches EVERYWHERE... in kitchen cabinets, drawers, and counters... in desk drawers and file cabinet... in dresser drawers!!!! Can you imagine not being able to keep your clothes in your dresser drawers due to the fact they would be full of roaches??!?!?! Thankfully the closet is quite large so I hang up ALL my clothes to avoid putting them in the roach infested dresser. There is "extermination services" monthly, but all they do is spray one little squirt behind the fridge and one little squirt behind the toilet, which does absolutely NOTHING!!! I have spoken to several other tenants on my floor and when I'm in the elevator, to tenants on other floors. And everyone I have spoken to says the same thing.... There is a major roach infestion. The hallways, the elevator, and the mail area are filthy. The floors are always dirty and the carpet stinks. The cleaning people barely ever mop up, and when they do, all they're doing is spreading the dirt from one side of the floor to the other. They never really clean anything. There is a security guard at the entrance, but only sometimes. So I see people gaining access to the building by walking in with tenants who have card access. And when the security guard is actually there, they won't buzz you in, even if your arms are full with groceries. They expect you to put all your groceries on the filthy floor, take out your access card, buzz yourself in, and hold the door with your foot, while you pick up all your bags of groceries. If everything I've already said isn't enough to make you think twice about living here, here's another piece of information.... The leasing office staff are rude. They never respond to any requests for repairs or when you complain about the roach infestion. They mistreat tenants. I hope that what I said makes you decide to not move into this building... unless you like living with roaches and filth.

they terminated my lease without any reason. they didn't issue a refund check after I moved out. The deposit is two month s rent, total $1180.00! they told me the deposit is for replacing the carpet, painting the apartment and replacing the kitchen cabinets Rediculous!!!!

Please do not live here! I have been living here for several years. I am about to move out, but please listen to what I have to say. Roaches are everywhere. An exterminator comes every month to spray chemicals in a kitchen area and a bathroom, BUT, roaches never disappear. As I wrote in the title, and everybody in this building consider this apartment as a Roach Motel. Parking has a problem, too. Since all the doors to parking are open, everybody can get in. I've heard many instances of break-in. The building has tightened the security, but after a few month, the same thing happens. Consider the alternative.

AUGUST IS GOING TO BE ONE YEAR SINCE I'VE MOVE IN JACKSON MEDICAL TOWERS, FOR THE MOST PART I HAVN'T HAD ANY MAJOR ISSUES WITH MY APARTMENT, THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT I HAD IS THE RESIDENTS LEAVING PILES OF TRASH NEAR THE ELEVATORS INSTED OF SIMPLE OPENING THE DOOR TO THE TRASH SHUTE AND THROWING THE TRASH IN AND WHEN SOMEONE IS MOVING IT'S WORST YOU'LL FIND FUNITURES, BOXES, CLOTHES PILED UP NEAR SHUTE I COMPLAINED NUMEROUS TIME ABOUT IT AND NOTHING WAS DONE. AND YOU'RE RIGHT PARKIG IS HORRIBLE DURING THE DAY TIME

Overall physical conditon of the property is poor at best. Maintenance is slow and shoddy. Grey water leaks from the apartment above required repairs several times. The air conditioning was out for 2 weeks in the late spring. Elevators fail regularly.

Office personnel are not friendly or easy to deal with.

Interior painting of hallways and public spaces was done in strange colors (pumpkin and green)(blue and orange).

Getting a UPS/FedX package or pizza delivered means coming to the 1st floor to get it, if you are there. If not, you are out of luck.

My first year in the building, homeless people were allowed to congregate in the parking garage areas and stairwells.

Parking during the day is a nightmare. There is none! If you get a good parkign spot at night don't move your car during the day, you might not find a place to park when you return.

The only good things about this property is the location and price. Walking to the hospital was great and the price is reasonable. However, the building management needs to be replaced with an experienced group who know how to maintain the property and deal with tenants.

Extremely convenient for medical students or others working at Jackson Memorial Hospital. However the setting and the building are not attractive and do not have nice amenities
