Absolute worst, they never answer the phone or get back to you. Two young people work the office and are unprofessional and unreliable and LIE about everything. There are roaches and most of all BEDBUGS, I got my last month refunded because of this and they have a "fake" supervisor who they can never reach and who is just as worst. DONT MOVE HERE period!

I lived here for most of the year and moved out this fall because of BEDBUGS. They are in this building and they are REAL. The 3 units around mine had bedbugs as well & when the tenants moved out I knew something was up. I informed management of the issue & they acted as if I was making things up, but when I showed them bites & when a family member showed them bites (that had to be treated by a physician) they did get someone in to treat my unit. It was treated twice but by then I did not want to deal with "waiting to see if treatment will take effect". I got out my lease easily enough because I believe the management knows there's a bedbug infestation. The sad thing is they refuse to do anything about it. This is a historic building and would be outstanding if current management was quite frankly, fired. I have scars on my arm from this bedbug issue and I should have been reimbursed for everything related to it, but I'm just glad I got out before I had to get rid of more furniture (lost a couch & an arm chair). A few more things. The management at this place NEVER answers the phone. Even after several messages, you'll be lucky if someone calls you back. Also, they are quite shady at disclosing information and act as if they are better than the tenants that live there. If they cop a bit of an attitude, just get one back. Oh yes, I'm still waiting on my security deposit (after 3 months). To save yourself a heck of a lot of trouble, just DON'T MOVE IN HERE. Keep looking elsewhere, you can find so much better

I read the posts about them with concern myself. I moved here from the East Coast about 9 months ago...apparently bed bugs are a big thing out here on the West Coast? In any case - I moved in a month ago myself and have no issues with bugs. Our last apartment we were in for 8 months and barely spoke to any neighbor - even a casual hello was met with a blank stare. Everyone in the building has been SO helpful, and SO friendly, and SO neighborly. My son and I are very happy with our move. We love the building, and the people, and the neighborhood. The parking is convenient, we've had no trouble walking at night either - we walk our dog, and sometimes late classes have us going in and out of the building very late. The building was highly recommended to me by a tenant who'd lived here for a year herself, and I asked her about all the posts I'd read and she answered the same way...no trouble, no bugs, etc. I don't work here, but the management has been very helpful to me specifically whenever I've had any questions, or needs. Love the large laundry (and the price is much lower per load than my last apartment!), and I will eventually get to the workout room, I promise!

I moved in in July and it has been a complete PLEASURE to live here. The building has great management and maintenance. I have not had any signs of bed bugs at all, and I would know because I had a bed bug issue where I lived a year ago. I was apprehensive about moving in after reading the bed bug report on this web site, and that is why I only signed a 6-month lease, but after this month is over I will definitely extend the lease. The parking structure is very convenient and is only across the street-- no need to EVER worry about finding a parking space in this area. I know how parking can be a pain bc I lived in K-town and I would need to circle for an HOUR!! It was absolutely ridiculous. I had an issue w the plumbing and it was fixed the next day! The building has a HUGE laundry room, and it also has a gym! The area is totally walkable during the day, but Im still scared about walking around at night, but hey it LA! It will be shady anywhere after 11pm. And if people complain about the noise, c'mon people youre in the CITY!

Living here has been a complete nightmare. First off, the reviews below mentioning the prevalence of bed bugs in the building are all completely true!!! Imagine waking up each day with your arms covered with red, itchy bites. The fact that the management has not taken any measures to correct or address this problem is an indicator that it doesn't care (which really isn't a smart idea since they may be putting themselves at risk to a possible lawsuit in the future from all the angry and unsatisfied tenants!!!! Furthermore, while there is parking provided, it's in a lot that is a block away from the apartment. Mind you, we live right next to MacArthur Park, so walking to and from your car is NOT recommended at night. When I signed my lease, the leasing agents told me that there was a waiting list for the few parking spaces that are located behind the building, but I have been here for a year and I'm still on the waitlist!!!! Yes, the rent is relatively cheap and it is pet-friendly, but PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE AT ALL COSTS. The headache and stress that you will undergo once you move in here will quickly outweigh the few benefits (if any) that Park Wilshire offers.

Where do I begin??!! Please ....I repeat!!! PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! BEWARE!!! And I'll be the first to say that YES i am a disgruntled ex tenant and I'm pissed off that i'm taking time 2 write this BS!!!!!! But thank goodness 4 yelp...this made me feel better =) 1st - BED BUGS!!!!!! If anyone would like to see the receipt for the treatment of my unit....I'll have no problem emailing it. Along with the very costly receipt of items I needed (and haven't been reimbursed 4) to buy 4 the preparation of treatment!! i was in and out of my unit in under 3weeks!!! and management was very well aware of an existing problem in my unit (twice b4 i move in). I along with several other units in the building have been affected by this problem!! Several people have moved out of there unit's.... i'm shocked not 2 see more complaints on here?!! 2nd - UNCOOPERATIVE MANAGEMENT!! This building's "corporation" has a very tight nit of people working for them...which made it very difficult 4 me, trying to get anyone to listen, when a problem arrived!? Time and time I've called and the REGIONAL MANAGER is either "always sick"...."out of the office"...on "another call"..."stepped away for a min"...or "left early"??!! and upper management has no intention in making ur living experience there enjoyable.!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! 3rd- SECURITY!!!! "Big" problem....very unpleasant personality...highly agitated. And constantly breaking the building's own rules!!?? (smoking in common area's, talking loudly outside after hours, making VERY politically incorrect comments, seeing u struggle with something at the front door and just stare at you (while he sits and reads)?!! How can anyone feel safe in a building where the "security"makes people feel uneasy??!! This man should have been asked to resign a looooooong time ago... unfortunately he and the person in charge of his job...let's just say..have a "close relationship.".um hm =/ ? 4th- THEY'RE THIEVES!!!! After myself and my roommate move out of our unit... because of the bed bug infestation...we we're told we would get 100% of our deposit back !! and when we received our check in the mail 30 days later.... we were charged 4 the removal of our beds!!?? along with half of the 1st months rent?? wtf??!! are they SERIOUS??!! iyiyiyiyiyi =? and now ...of course I've been getting the run around in the office... ?? go figure...huh?! i'd like to end this note by saying ....I should have taken them to court...sued em 4 all i could...but this seems like a much better outlet to use to get ish off my chest!!~! Happy hunting!! xoxo

This place may look good at first glance, but there have been robberies in the building recently and the landlord refuses to do anything about it. In addition, the heat has not been working in the building for several years and management still refuses to fix it. Plus, the free parking is not entirely safe, as one of the exits has a non-working light in an area know for high crime rates. Plus, your car may get vandalized at the free parking they provide.

1. You WILL get bed bugs. They are crawling all over the place and yes, I moved but the bugs moved with me :-( ...and don't get me started with all the other bugs. I'm not sensitive, but when a government health inspector knocks on your door and ask questions, you should be suspicious. 2. DON'T expect to get your deposit back. I lived there for a short while, never changed anything but they charged me $350!!!! for repainting, cleaning and misc. construction. Really! I don't even smoke, what could possible need repainting after a couple of month. In essence, calculate the deposit as rent cause you properly won't see it again. It does appear somewhat clean, i thought so at least, but it really isn't. One example would be I once stepped on big warm hot smelling dog ---- (10 in dia.) as I stepped into the hallway from the elevator. Weird Stuff like that happened all the time. Just expect to be unpleasantly surprised on a regular basis.

Don't be fooled. It may look nice and quiet but the truth is that there have been 6 break ins. The building has fake cameras but they don't record. The manager lies and says that nothing has happened. Check with Rampart Division police station. Crime in the area is up. Ladies are not safe. There was a killing at the parking lot across the street and there are drive bys and more gang activity than ever. Very dangerous and not for any single women. Glad I moved.
