I stayed in this apartment as an international student for 2 years. It was a nightmare for us to live in that apartment. Roaches are literally everywhere - Kitchen, bathroom and even in bedrooms. The mgmt harass the tenants in the name of fumigation every month (nothing gets better after fumigation). The building electricity is coil based and we used to get $400 - $500 electricity bill for every 2 months. Please stay away from both Mardette and Mardigras apartments. Here is the list, 1) The manager (Nikki) is the most arrogant women I have seen. Her laziness knows no bounds - she used to take 2 weeks just to replace a laundry card. Also, she is an nth order hypocrite- expecting patience and time sense from tenants while being such a lazy and arrogant manager herself. 2) The pests in the apartment will literally make you sick. This is a big warning. Every unit in the apartment in infested by roaches and cockroaches. 3) The rent is ridiculously high and the mgmt and maintenance is terrible. They cleaned the pool only once in our span of 2 years. You've got better housing near USC and I never ever recommend anyone to this place. Also, if HPG mgmt is looking into this review, my humble request would be to sack Nikki out of the job. She is pathetic.

----- who is the apartment manager ….. god knows what she even “manages “ she can barely manage her own dog , BTW only SHE can have a pet in the apartment but not anyone else. Else by the way she lives there too . She harasses tenants daily once she wakes up and will try to sue you over breathing …… not kidding. Look elsewhere , her alone will destroy your experience here . She will probably even cast a spell on you .

I lived at this apartment complex for a year and a half and it was AWFUL! A true nightmare. I wouldn't wish this experience on even my worst enemy. First of all, the bugs. The bugs in the kitchen are one thing, disgusting and horrible, but the BED BUGS were constant. They would spray, heat treat the place and still we were EATEN alive. There was no heat in the complex and it got so bad that we had to break our lease. They made us pay $5,000 to end our lease, even though they were completely in the wrong. The building smells awful, You've got TOO many people living in each apartment, the mgmt is AWFUL. So rude, so mean, and one time I submitted a work order and came home to find that the manager's keys were still in the lock in the hall and my apartment was unlocked. It was an absolutely nightmare avoid at ALL costs.
