The leasing staff is unprofessional. ..shoes off at their desk...Sonia too lazy to greet properly...offered us the keys to see apt ourselves, rushed tour...gave us the run-around, not checking email for info sent, and we had to submit the same info twice. POWER-TRIP!!!! WE WERE TREATED LIKE CRAP...DO NOT RENT HERE, YOU WILL HAVE ISSUES...I'm going to take this to the top.

Alessio Mgrs. will direct the Maintenance Mgr. to hold you responsible and try to assess charges for per existing defects in your unit that you are not responsible for. So here are some tips: 1-If in the beginning they don't show you your exact apartment. RUN!!! 2-Diplomatically ask for your rent history ledger. The Bre ledger encompasses 2014 and prior years. The New Essex ledger is 2015 and forward. 3-at lease end they will try to charge you for the carpeting and flooring if they do get help.

I am a current resident and i have been living here for approx 5yrs. I have a love and hate relationship with this property. I continue to live here because of the central location and the fact that i haye constantly moving. My rent here typically goes up approx $50-$70 per yr keep in mind that most of the newer properties calculate rental rates based on market value. The building is HUGE with 600 units but only 100 will have access to each bldng so you're never dealing with or seeing all 600 ppl at a time lol. I love pulling up to my community because it is rather nice IN THE FRONT. Here are some of my gd views: i rarely see tons of traffic at one time throughout the community, for the most part its really quiet at night considering the size, the gym is nice, the pool area is designed nice, parking structure is huge but frm the back structure where i park its very close to the access drs and feels safe, security quickly shuts dwn any chaos when they are called The bad stuff: The back of the building is not treated like the front and looks horrible, dirty and nasty with trash dumped and filthy staircases, they don't tell you that they lease out units to the performing arts school so many of the units are used as dorms with young disrespectful students running around, not enough security for such a huge complex- rt after the big shooting when 2 ppl died here they beefed up security but then when time passed they went back to being under staff, in the summer its hard to use the pool because people walk in off the street so it's over crowded, the mgmt staff takes forever to follow up with you because they are overloaded so half the time they have no clue as to what is going on, they recently updated the hallway carpets and dr colors but they dnt have enough maintenance staff to maintain the appearance so there are stains everywhere, the kids are constantly breaking the secure access doors to the bldngs and its no big deal to mgmt so it takes forever to get fixed, DOGS..lets just say you can have any and every size dog up in here so beware if you have small children. I have pics of Lassie dogs, pit pulls, great dames and some ppl have untamed rescue dogs here-mgmt nvr checks so i feel bad if you live below them!

I wanted to quickly take the time to commend a member of Alessio's staff: Will Manecke. Upon move in, there were a few odds and ends that needed to be taken care of. Initially, it was extremely challenging to solve the issues at hand, but once Will became involved the process went from poor (non-communication, missed appointments, and promises to move forward) to excellent (clear/consistant communication, follow through and genuine care). Alessio is a nice place to live. Once our needs/concerns were met I'm very happy with our decision to call it our home.

I was impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of William Manecke . He was so helpful and he showed me all the option I have. I would not have picked this place if it wasnâ??t for him. After I moved in He followed up with me to make sure everything is all right and handled all my maintenance needs ASAP. If you are think about moving to the complex ask for William M. He would work with you to find the best apt with the great price. THANKS William!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoy living at this complex. As my lease was coming up for renewal I entertained the idea of finding a superior place in the same area. After diligent research and visiting different apartment complexes I realized Alessio was still my best option. I was impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of William M., one of the new assistant managers at the complex. He truly cared about my needs and satisfaction. Martin V., one of the employees on the maintenance team, also always handled the maintenance needs timely, with skill and care! Edgar, one of the leasing officers, also also provided superior service ever since I moved in. Due to these 3 people, and of course the general manager, Brian N., I am still living happily at this apartment complex and I would recommend it to any one. However be aware of Bria, one of the assistant managers, I rated the staff a 4 instead of a 5 because of her. All the other employees are wonderful! From the time I moved in until present, I've seen great improvement within this complex. From the renovations going on, to the quality of residents, etc. It is a true pleasure to call Alessio home!

DO NOT LIVE HERE! Noise, crime, rude neighbors. Not worth the price moving out.

I, FORTUNETLY, USED to be a resident at the alessio apartments. I think that I was one of the "Lucky" tenants that stayed here. My experience was bad, but most other tenants that lived there have shared with me their horrible experience. Here is the breakdown of mine: Parking - Lucky, I have never had any bad experiences parking. I was assigned to one spot, and during my 9 month tenure, no one ever parked there or gave me any issues. I was always fearful of someone breaking into my car because that was the vibe that you get just from being at the alessio. When you open the gates to the complex, they are always open long enough for 2 or 3 people to quickly come in behind you, which happens on a daily basis. I have heard stories of some tenants saying that their car was broken into or someone was in their space. I have never had that happen to me. Despite this, my personal experience is 3 stars for parking because I have never had anything happen, but there was always a justified fear of something happening. Nosie - Again, I was lucky because I was on the second floor and the laundry room was below me, no one lived to my right or left because of the structure of the building. Noise was never an issue, except when loud people were walking through the hallways. The people above me had a dog that ran around for 15 minutes at about 7am every morning, but that never really bothered me because I was already awake getting ready for work. I have heard a lot of other people have noise complaints, but I was lucky in this area, mainly due to the location of my apartment. Grounds - The grounds were always well kept and presentable when I lived there from 2012-2013. I believe this is mainly because the staff is always trying to get people to move in and would daily be showing units to potential tenants. BTW, there are 650 units at the alessio. I personally would not rent here for that reason alone. Sometimes, there is a such thing as too many people, but to each his own. Safety - I never felt comfortable at the alessio. That was mostly due to the double homicide that happended four days after I moved in. There was a dead body on the grass, and blood all throughout the hallways. Naturally, after that I was never very comfortable. I am a pretty big guy (6', 220lbs), so I wouldn't say I was afraid or never felt safe because men my size typically aren't targets (At least not as much as an avergae sized woman or the elderly). A more adequete word for me would be uncomfortable. With that being said, I would whole heartedly understand if people used the term 'fear'. To be honest, there are a lot of questionable people of all different ethnicities of both genders. You combine that with 650 units having 1-4 people per unit, something at some point is bound to happen. Don't let the 'security' fool you. I made friends with one of the guys and he told me its a joke, and their demeanor shows it. Safety gets one star and I'll leave it at that. Construction - A nice looking facility: 4 stars Maintenance - I've heard bad stories about this, but I only had one maintenace problem in the 9 months I was there. My garbage disposal didnt work. They make you go online and file a report. I did that and I got no response for 48 hours. I called management, and the guy gave me an attitude. I don't remember the exact words that were said, but it was unprofessional. I left work early and showed up an hour later to see him face to face and he suddenly looked scared and intimidated. People tell me for the most part I'm a nice and respectable guy, but the level of unprofessionalism displayed set me off. As I'm saying my piece to the staff, LUCKILY, a nice guy from the maintainence staff overheard and knew he could fix it quickly and did so in 5 minutes. He was extremly cool and apologized for everything. Him alone, is the only reason I give maintenance 3 stars. At the same time, I shouldn't have to leave work early. ESPECIALLY, if i paid my rent one time every month. Staff - To describe the staff of the alessio in one word - Sad. After 4 months, I just felt sad. I always thought it was weird that the young girl who showed me the apartment was so suprised when I told her I was going to sign my lease. I now see why. After the murder that happened, they would not let me out of my lease or even move to a different building. The staff was never welcoming or professional. To this day, I know that one of the staff members stole my iphone. Thats another story, but I just took my loss and pushed forward. Of course the issue with the staff member over my maintainence problem. Despite all of the issues in this review, they gave me a notice saying that my rent was going to increase $200 per months. I was going to leave if they decreased my rent anyway. The manager asked me with a straight face why was I leaving. I said I don't see $200 per month more of improvements. Despite all of these issues, I did my best to avoid any staff member at the alessio and I gave it one star. I could only imagine how other people, who had other problems, felt. I used the word 'lucky' a few times throughout my review. Some people may call it luck that I had no 'neighbors' (at least that I shared a wall with). I didn't experience much noise, no bugs, and most importantly no acts of violence were commited towards me. I give the alessio a generous 2 stars overall (mostly because of my 'luck', which I perceive to be divine intervention). I spoke with a lot of tenants and their experience was exponentially worse than mine. I would not live here. Do some more research, cause there are other places to live in LA.
