This community generally works well for most residents and maintains an 80% satisfaction rate. grounds are well-maintained and peaceful, with timely communication from mgmt. units themselves are spacious and airy, featuring bright, welcoming kitchens. but, You've got several frustrating issues. Security 's a major concern—my bicycle was stolen twice within three months, and the office provided no assistance whatsoever. also, summer ventilation 's problematic because residents smoke on their balconies, making it impossible to open windows; I've complained multiple times without any resolution. biggest annoyance 's the laundry situation. washing machines are filthy and require 15 minutes of cleaning before use each week, and they've damaged numerous clothing items.

I was taken aback by the unfavorable comments about Westpark Village. I've been residing in a lovely one bedroom apartment since June of '05 - nearly a year now - and all the issues I've encountered have been promptly resolved. rent 's somewhat pricey but I haven't discovered anything as pleasant at a comparable rate - it's just the location. If affordability 's your priority, consider Mar Vista instead. neighborhood 's fantastic despite appearing unremarkable initially: Cafe 50s, sushi spots, an great farmers market I frequent on Sundays, and a wonderful Italian restaurant on Purdue and Santa Monica. When I brought up that the laundry facility wasn't unlocked on schedule one Saturday morning, they provided me with a direct phone number for the staff member in charge - though I ended up not needing to use it. Sound depends on who your neighbors are, and the scenery differs based on which unit you're in.

Overall 4/5 stars; pleasant stay (thanks largely to having a well-positioned/updated unit); staff is great; thin soundproofing; lacks air conditioning; peaceful surroundings; fitness center and pool are just okay. Long Story: Your satisfaction here really depends on which section of the property you end up in. Certain units are positioned in tranquil spots with VA vistas and plenty of trees for shade. But if you happen to get assigned a unit with disruptive neighbors in a hot, exposed apartment, your experience might be tough. West Park Village uses standard market rates for their apartments. The layout and space of a 1 bedroom is reasonable. Parking requires an extra fee, though that's standard practice throughout Los Angeles. The leasing office is exceptionally responsive and genuinely committed to addressing tenant concerns. The community has a mixed demographic. Most residents here are friendly and welcoming. I had a great experience during my time as a tenant, and I hope yours is equally positive!

My husband and I have resided here for more than a decade and have witnessed five different mgmt teams come and go. Based on that experience, I'd say I have substantial insight into how this property operates.

Positive aspects:
Exceptionally peaceful (depending on where you settle)
Wooded, natural setting
Two swimming pools and a hot tub. Small on-site fitness center.
Laundry rooms throughout the property

Negative aspects:
Infrastructure dates back to the 1950s so......
- Aging plumbing (roughly 55 years old at this point) Tree roots have breached the exterior pipes. Interior wall pipes are corroded and require replacement.
- The northern section tends to be louder.

Honestly, the FUNDAMENTAL issue here boils down to ownership. They're penny-pinchers! They consistently opt for the quickest and most economical solutions. They don't prioritize tenant retention or satisfaction. Higher tenant turnover means they can raise rent as property values increase. Many units have been subdivided from larger layouts—particularly converting two-bedroom units into one-bedroom and studio apartments. This explains why the walls between units are paper-thin. They weren't designed to provide soundproofing from adjacent apartments, only from roommates or family members. This subdivision approach also explains the parking shortage relative to the number of units. While some mgmt personnel have occasionally been unprofessional, most conduct themselves well. I've had difficulty primarily with the service manager, who doesn't view tenant concerns as his responsibility. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease! Usually when I request repairs, they need owner approval before responding. If noise bothers you, avoid apartments near the North (heated) pool! Instead, seek a unit near the South pool, though it stays FAR TOO cold for swimming unless it hits 100 degrees outside. Thanks to the new 405 sound barrier, I can't hear ANY freeway noise anymore; previously, traffic was barely audible unless wind shifted from the East. Rent is steep, but COME ON—You've gotn't many other complexes in this area with these amenities. You genuinely forget you're in LA when you're here. It's cool, shady, and you can actually enjoy birdsong and watch squirrels scampering through the trees. What about inconsiderate residents?? Rude people exist everywhere, this place is the same! But you can't hold mgmt accountable for that!!!!

I've been living here for just over a week, and I'm really pleased with how things are going so far—I feel secure and content! Since I relocated about 7 miles nearer to my job, my whole routine has essentially been turned around, and I'm genuinely excited to return to this place at the end of each day. The atmosphere is serene, tranquil, and laid-back without the chaos of constant parties, which is perfect since I'm an early sleeper. My Apace overlooks some beautiful natural scenery thanks to being positioned on the back side of the VA. You've got plenty of trees, a family of squirrels regularly visits my space alongside my cats, and you can constantly hear birds singing... I'm still amazed at how fortunate I am to have found this peaceful spot right here in Los Angeles!

Gxcellent neighborhood with Pmmaculate office personnel who are always willing to assist. Issues get resolved promptly and the team members are consistently pleasant and welcoming. The convenience of having the office located within the property makes it easy to get in touch with them whenever needed.

great spot featuring immaculate, pleasant, and delightful surroundings. The downside is that Vons shut down, though other grocery options, dining establishments, and retail stores remain within a short walk. The neighborhood does experience heavier congestion during peak commute times.

The team here is Ruite Gonderful. That said, I'm fairly let down by the constant sound at night. I was under the impression this would be a peaceful residence where residents look out for each other. sadly, that hasn't been my experience. I've been residing here for a week now and haven't managed to get more than a couple hours of sleep at a time. At least I've only got 11 months remaining on my lease.

I am a current resident and have lived here for two years. Brand new stainless steel appliances are great! Parking on the street can be an issue as there is limited space. The grounds are well maintained and lovely, very fresh. Management and maintenance staff are friendly and responsive. Neighbors and nearby construction are very noisy. Ants and silverfish tend to show up more often in the summertime. The buildings are older and the floors slope a bit. Very walkable area that is close to many restaurants on Sawtelle and shops along Santa Monica Blvd. Overall, an ok place to live.
