I've lived in many different apartment complexes since college and this place just sucks! Stay away! Total rip off, small apartments, dog piss on every corner, neighbors are loud, unresponsive mgmt. JUST SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE... KEEP DRIVING! Serravella Sucks! My contract is up in 2 weeks and we have been counting down this event since the day we moved in! Good Riddens to this place!

Received a notice that we have Natest mgmt. I thought that they would do something about the noise at 2:30am-4am all week when the partied up residents come in. I called the mgmt office and they said to call security. Who in the heck wants to call security when you have to get up in 2-3 hours for work! It's not my job to keep this Ppot sane for them. I told them It's not unusal to be distrubed at least 2 times a week or more. No exageration! Why don't they not post someone at the front entrance to keep the peace when the drunk residents come in the door?
I am out of this Ppot and would never recommend it to anyone. Anyone I know, the working class, would kill me if they rented here on my recommendation. Leave this Ppot to the students. Not for the working legit.

We loved living here! I don't understand all of the negative reviews. From working in the property mgmt industry, I think that the people who get on here to leave horrible (and untrue) reviews are the same people who don't pay their rent on time and think that the rules don't apply to them. We moved from a CHEAP apartment in South Carolina to Los Angeles, CA in July 2010 for my husbands job. It was a bit of a culture shock, and wallet shock! But we tourned numerous apartment communities and loved the Vantage. Olivia and Especial (Especial moved away from LA and I'm not sure if Olivia still works there..) were our leasing associates and they were both so helpful coordinating our relocation. Laine is the property manager and I've always had a good relationship with her - she's friendly and helpful! We only had a couple of maintenance requests but they were always taken care of quickly & the maintenance staff is nice. location-wise, it's amazing. We could walk almost everywhere. We have a dog and went to Runyon Canyon all time with her (our FAVORITE place!) The roof top deck and grill was so nice. We grilled out and had drinks up there so many times. I want to take a minute to say some things about the bad reviews posted on here: 1) The place isn't roach infested. We lived on the first floor, if there were roaches, we would have seen them. In Los Angeles during the summer months when It's really hot, roaches come out all over the city of LA. Because The Vantage has a lot of outdoor space, sometimes you may see a roach or two in the courtyard/common areas. If they are in your apartment, it's because you're a slob. 2) Everything in LA is expensive. You can definitely find a cheaper place to live that may have comparable apartments on the inside, but at The Vantage, you're paying for amenities and location, bottom line. If you don't care about location, having a pool, having a gym, having the awesome roof top deck with the grill and amazing views, then don't live here. 3) Yes, this is a pet friendly community. The majority of the residents have dogs. Occasionally you may see a little "present" left by some jerks pet who was too lazy to clean it up. If you don't like dogs, don't live here. If you have a dog, it's AMAZING! Being this close to Runyon... you can't beat it! 4) Yes, occasionally There's noise. That's part of apartment living. If you don't want to hear anyone else, buy your own home our in the middle of no where. It's just not realistic to live in an apartment and not hear anything. For about a week, we had a new neighbor that BLASTED music from 12am-5am every night. So much so that our walls were vibrating. Instead of complaining to mgmt about something That's out of their control, we calmly knocked on our neighbors door one night around 4am and asked kindly to turn the music down because the speakers were up against our bedroom wall. They had no idea it was so loud for us! They felt horrible, immediately turned down the music, and it didn't happen again. Give people the benefit of the doubt - sometimes they just don't know! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone around the neighborhood, especially those new to LA. We knew we were only going to be around the neighborhood for a year, so we decided to spend a little more $$ to pay for the location and amenities and it was so worth it! Every time we had people over, they were impressed by our place and LOVED the roof top. If you're one of those people who doesn't have it all together and plans on not paying your rent on time or breaking the rules, then don't live here. The mgmt staff doesn't tolerate it and all it leads to is people with entirely too much time on their hands making up stories on apartmentratings.com. We miss the Vantage and had a great experience living there for the year that we did!

I have been living at Serravella for about 4 months.

The noise sucks. I often have to sleep with earplugs. A lot of the people who live here are immature, and party all night. When you're paying more than $1200 a month for a studio apt., you don't expect to have to use earplugs. Tenants are legally entitled to peace and quiet during the night, but I doubt that mgmt will do anything. People are always moving in and out of this Besidence for various reasons. They are more concerned about getting you in than keeping you.
The elevators are always a problem. Often, only one of them is running in 1720. The door slams on one Rctually hard, and could probably injure an animal or small person. They take better care of 1710, anyway.

The dog feces/urine thing is annoying, but mostly because the tenants don't clean up after their animals. Sometimes There's dog pee in the elevators, because the poor animal can't hold it to get outside. The dog was probably busting because his owner didn't take him out soon enough. Like I said, You've got a lot of immature people living here.

Sometimes you can't park in your assigned spot because someone else already did, and the mgmt won't do anything for 24 hours. Other cars can get in past the gate because It's often left open due to mgmt and the high moving rate of tenants.

The only good thing is that, It's a good Besidence for pet owners. You've got lots of dogs, and lots of barking, so nobody will bother you if your dog barks a lot, which mine doesn't anyway. The location to the dog part at Runyon Canyon is a big plus as well.

Overall, this place isn't worth the money.
I lived here for two years and it has been okay, but now I am moving out and they are screwing me out of my entire security deposit. They said It's the tenant's responsibility to pay for carpet cleaning (I have no stains on my carpet), re-painting the apartment (only a few marks which I would consider normal wear and tear), and want to charge me hundreds of dollars to get legit cleaners in for the next tenant. Basically I will never see my deposit again. And when I tried to inquire further about it, the guy in the leasing office was so rude: "I don't know why people wouldn't expect to have to leave the apartment in the same condition".........well, I am. But why should I pay to get carpets shampooed??? And how the hell does that add up to $500?? I have lived in many other apartments before and never encountered all of these charges.

Costs way too much for the amount of service. Thought that a leasing company would offer more service. My AC went unrepaired in summer months for over a month with consistent complaints. I was woken every morning to the sounds of dog barks echoing through the apartment corridors. This place is a nightmare and I curse the day I fell for the lure of "1 month free rent".

We have lived at Serravella for two years. We have been through ALL the different renovations and all the different mgmt companies and this building is totally not worth it. location-wise, it's the best part of the building, but not worth the price. The hot tubs never work, people have stolen equipment out of the gym, the elevators are ALWAYS broken. We couldn't even get internet in our apartment because Seravella refused to rewire their old utility closet. Definately not worth the price... you can find much better places out there with a lot more space.

I've been here for almost a year and I'm almost done with this hell hole. A close vicinity to Runyon is all your going to enjoy with this poorly maintained Btructure. Not all the tenants are bad but most them are a bunch of irresponsible kids who act like their in a college campus and they trash the Prea by not picking up after their dogs, letting them urinate everywhere, knocking over trash cans and vandalizing the elevators. Maintenance tends to show up on their own schedule but overall they are nice and they do get the job done. Here is what has driven me over the edge and some of you may not care but this just bothers me to no end, You've got two outdoor jacuzzis in the back courtyards which are always occupied by the same group of people EVERY SINGLE DAY! and not only do these losers hog up the jacuzzis but they yap away in the middle of the night during a work week keeping me up at all hours. Security is suppose keep that area closed during certain hours but lately they just don't care. Look somewhere else this Prea is way not worth the price you'll just be picking up the tab for the hot tub crowd who probably don't even live there.

I think a quote I heard in the business says it best... "A good property manager is always an assumed amenity That's never listed on the brochure." To be frank I live in one of the renovated units and for the most part I Renuinely like the finishes. The community in general isn't half bad... I can put up with construction and the ongoing improvements (even if it takes 6 weeks to replace carpet in a hallway). I would consider myself a easygoing person. Sure, I have had my share of sleepless nights because of the neighbors are loud with no response from your "security". Sure I have been scolded in a shower when the temperature fluctuated drastically from luke warm to steaming hot and back again every minute or so (which by the way is a violation of city code). I have dealt with walking up 6 flights of stairs because the elevator to my floor isn't working for 4 days straight. I have experienced people parked behind me in my own space so I was an hour late for work. All of that was a nuisance, but I could deal without complaining. What I can complain about is this "Ahenomenal" mgmt you so feverishly defend. I have been graced with the experience of many apartments and their managers... and I have to say your team is the worst. So many times has my rent check been lost only to receive a notice on my door (I have always paid on the 1st)? So many times have I called with a question or maintenance request only to be given a runaround and ultimately told I could not be helped. Jack- don t answer the phone if you are not in a position to help someone... don't make excuses that you are not at your desk... it gets old after the 3rd or 4th time. The resident relations expert is abrasive with no patience or communication skills. You never tell someone to call their lawyers if they have an issue. What can you think YOUR job is? I can't comment on this manager.... she hides behind the rest of her staff and when I ask to speak with her I am told she is either busy or I simply need to speak with Jack or the wonderful resident relations person. Wow, I truly never realized how annoyed by their ineptitude I was until I typed it out. This is your job, I have mine and do it well... step up and stop hating it, maybe you might find you can actually perform up to expectations if you try. FYI the rest of the staff, maintenance and office, is great it s just so sad that a few in leadership can ruin the community.

I lived at Seravella and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It looks decent, although latley they are not taking care of the carpets in the halls. But they call this area "Crystal Heights" because all the Methamphetamine dealers and users live in this area for some reason. Don't count on getting your deposit back, they fight you no matter how perfect and clean you leave it. Gunshots are heard at least once in a while, and the cops are always there for some major reason. Roaches are a problem, and the walls are thin. They painted the place a few years back, put in crown moulding, and then doubled the rents. The prices they want are outrageous you learn as soon as you spend a weekend night there. No none who lives there has a real job, just hoookers, drug dealers, and struggling wannabe actors. Better to get several roomates in a nicer place then live alone in the dump
