“Unit 2R Pros: - Once I got to know the super, he and his family were very nice - Reasonable price for a 1-bedroom apartment in NY - Location Cons: - When I first moved in, I asked for many repairs to the landlord. He had to relay the information to the super which was a slow process taking days. - Communication with landlord was overall painful. I had to email and call multiple times when I needed a response. However, when the landlord needed something, he bombarded me with emails and calls all throughout the day. - My biggest problem with the apartment was the heater. It is building controlled so it is restricted. The heaters barely worked especially when it wasn't cold enough (e.g., around 50 degrees). I complained many times to 311 but all I heard back was that the heaters are working fine. - The landlord said the pest control would visit once a month, but they only came when I requested and they would show up unannounced. - The laundry room in the basement is not well kept. The floor is dirty, the table next to the machines were old and dirty, and the ceiling often had leaks. - I could hear my neighbors very clearly / poor noise proof Advice to landlord: Please take care of your building. It has so much potential but you only care about saving money”

Our ceiling fell in the first week and we got a response to fix two weeks before the lease ended. Advice to landlord: If you want people to stay take care of the tenants.”
