“Pros: Good location. Close to transportation Cons: About the Elevator”
— 303 WEST 154 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 67 Pros: Elevator works most of the time but it's always full of urine from the pets and homeless drug addicts that live in the hallways. I Cons: Everything sucks!!! Unsafe, no cameras, the homeless and drug addicts that hangout in the building take packages, urinate and sometimes poop on the floors. The water pressure and color of the water is horrible. The roaches are unbearable. I am just in disgust with the management of this property. Advice to landlord: I suggest you sell this dump to someone that will care and fix the problems.”
— 246 BRADHURST AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: I really enjoyed my apt lay out and space. Also, Elevator building. Cons: Often times, drug addicts would be sitting in the stairway doing drugs, the cleanliness of the building was horrible. My apartment had a roach infestation, and i am a very clean/meticulous person, which lead me to believe the sewer system was not being properly maintained. The trash outside of the building was always over flowing. The elevator was very unreliable. Any inquiries sent to management would be ignored. The building entrance door was always broken, which allowed homeless people to enter and hang out in the lobby area.”
“Unit NA Pros: Location of building is great Cons: Poor management, super only speaks Spanish and uses Google translator to communicate with tenants, have to text communicate with super and management about cleaning the building, rodent problems, heat and hot water issues. Management rarely inform tenants with updates. Currently no heat or hot water for 3 weeks Advice to landlord: Get it together”
— 367 EDGECOMBE AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Fairly spacious apartments for the price. There are some really nice people living in the building. There is a monthly exterminator for the roach problem. Inside the building is fairly quiet and has a good layout. Cons: Front doors are always broken. Cannot have any packages delivered as they will be stolen by squatters and crackheads. Roach problem seems to have gotten worse over the past few years. Trash piles up outside of the building. Neighborhood is loud and seedy. Management is impossible to get a hold of and doesn’t respond to messages. Advice to landlord: Find new management”
— 303 WEST 154 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The apartment on the first level was a really nice size considering it was a one bedroom. There were also 2 very large closets in the bedroom. Cons: One time the whole kitchen cabinet set almost fell on top of me breaking all of my family heirlooms. Also, the neighbor above me had a bathroom that must have been right above my bedroom because the ceiling would leak sometimes. One time there was a major ceiling leak and all kinds of gross liquid leaked unto my bed. If you're on the first level you can smell people's cigarettes coming through the window in the summer time. They were pretty timely when it came to making repairs. Advice to landlord: The vendor you used for the refrigerator and stove really sucked.”
— 242 BRADHURST AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: - I liked the location, which is very convenient - People are really nice! Cons: - getting the building to address the serious cockroach infestation was impossible - heat was frequently not working - water pressure was terrible in the shower, and there was never any satisfactory action taken to fix it Advice to landlord: Try to show more care for your tenants and address their needs.”
— 242 BRADHURST AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 5A Pros: Elevator Mobile Entry Accessible Area Cons: Entrance door hard to walk in with bags Mobile Entry Malfunctions Excessively Roaches No window screens Windows with broken mechanisms And more Advice to landlord: Pest control is out of control”
— 303 WEST 154 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Affordable rent, Joe the Super and his assistants. Cons: Updates needed. bugs bugs bugs. loud, inconsiderate neighbors Scaffolding has been up for years! Advice to landlord: Invest more money to Joe and making the building nicer”
— 242 BRADHURST AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Location, super, safety, heat hot water, view Cons: Walk up Electric problem in livingroom & radiator in livingroom didn't work Outside noise in Sumner Lack of closet space”
— 367 EDGECOMBE AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: nothing that I can think of Cons: I lived here for 3 years because I had no other option. I realized when I moved in that my windows were literally taped up. Regular packing tape was the only thing keeping them up; I could see outside between the top of the windows and the wall. For a period of about 4 months, there was sewage dripping into the lobby into a pail. People in the building smoked in the hallway with no consequences, there were roaches and mice, the boiler went out consistently, and management was unresponsive. Advice to landlord: I'd advise the property owner to listen to tenant concerns and implement basic rules in the common areas.”
— 246 BRADHURST AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: There are none Cons: I lived here in 2011 and lived amongst roaches and mice for my entire year lease. It was uninhabitable and the building itself was not maintained. The management company was difficult to reach and was unhelpful with pest control. Advice to landlord: I am unsure if it is owned by the same management company or what the living conditions are like currently, but would ask them to be responsive to tenants, take action to resolve pest and building issues (especially because it is extremely hazardous to tenants' health), and to take accountability.”
— 246 BRADHURST AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Nothing really I just can’t wait to moved out at the end of the lease is nightmare I never see so much drugs dealer in my life over there Cons: This building is very dirty from elevator to outside hall way .After living. Here for 6 months and request many time for management to fix the floor refrigerator stove damage and the peeling of the bathtub At least twice a months is no hot water always problems. Scaffolding being there for 2 years if not more and nothing done windows damage a fissures in wall getting deeper Advice to landlord: No one is above the law the women who take care of management is pure liar my phone still connected to my phone the building is nothing but a nest for drugs dealers the building is very dirty”
