“Pros: No accidents happened during my stay Cons: - No hot water on some cold day - Heating system is unstable; one day it is so hot like Sauna and other days, it's freezing cold - The management building is not responsive”

“Unit 2 Pros: -affordable -good appliances -building well maintained -quiet -great location, access to both 1 and a/c/b/d Cons: -management hard to get a hold of -impossible to get a hold of super to get anything repaired”

“Pros: Lived in 515 for a bit now, responsive super, clean common areas, good package maintenance, and repairs are generally fast Cons: No insulation in the winter, funky smell, and rent increased 15% in a year”

“Pros: Lots of natural light. Spacious. Walls and countertops seem to be pretty new. The space and location are both pretty good overall. Cons: Super is often unresponsive, we dealt with maintenance issues (related to dishwasher, fridge, stove, etc.) for 8+ months, with many of the issues still unfixed. Took repeated calls every other day for several weeks, plus a call to the management office, just to get one of the above issues fixed and the others unaddressed. Some of these issues have serious safety implications -- the stove, for instance, is missing a stove knob, which means it's impossible to tell if that burner is on until you smell gas. Everything else (the paid laundry, the trash courtyard, the elevator) works basically how you'd expect at this price point, but I really expected more basic competence in addressing these maintenance issues.”

“Pros: Near Columbia, shower water pressure OK, in-building laundry machines all work Cons: Getting repairs done for our unit has consistently been a huge hassle. The RCR management handbook directs us to call the on-site superintendent for repairs, but we haven't had a single repair done in a timely manner even after following up many times. Specifically: top rack of dishwasher was broken for 5+ months (now repaired); one knob on gas stove has been missing for 5+ months (still broken as of May 2025). Other current issues that we haven't pressed because it's so inconvenient: freezer door 'locks' when it's closed and can't be opened for another 30ish minutes; front door doesn't fit properly in frame and has to be slammed shut. Not sure how the rent here compares to other buildings but I would not choose this building unless you think the rent is a good enough price to make these issues worth it.”

“Pros: layout was great for a 3 bed with a separate kitchen and large living room, rent was affordable, with window AC units the temperature was always reasonable, lobby was nice and clean Cons: we had recurring bed bugs and management did very little to help. they sent global pest control thrice and they were not able to fix the situation. we broke our lease at the end”

“Pros: Close to campus and had a nice building manager who was very caring and attentive. I had a bad neighbor, and he would do everything to alleviate the situation. Cons: My neighbor smoked a lot of marijuana, and would play really loud music at weird times of the night and day. The smoke crept through a vent that somehow connected to my unit. Advice to landlord: Make sure that no smoking and noise complaints are strictly enforced”

“Pros: Quiet building, elevator Cons: Lazy and unhelpful super, pest issue (cockroaches and centipedes), loud and inconsistent heater (had to buy space heater in winter), delivery drivers buzz every apt # on call box to enter building at random times of the day (including 7am), laundry area isn’t clean and laundry access closes from 9pm to 9am, locks to front doors twist throughout the day so you have to angle your key a different way each time for entry, doors sometimes don’t shut all the way”

“Pros: Decent fixtures, super is responsive and was able to repair things in a timely manner Cons: Location is very meh, it would be a nice place for a year but not any longer Advice to landlord: Keep up with maintenance, make sure the heating isn't too hot, invest in some better faucets and fixtures”

“Pros: - fantastic location/neighborhood - good amount of space for the money - very few issues with neighbors - installed a package closet in response to package theft - solid laundry system Cons: - garbage area was an absolute disaster and a health violation (rats literally jumping out of the garbage bins, trash bags piling up in hallway) - super not very responsive - management is typical (ie: annoying and challenging) - moderate rodent issues, no help from management - freezing in winter (heater was def messed up and not adequately repaired) Advice to landlord: the building has potential, but health/safety/cleanliness issues need to be addressed with far more intention and care in order to create a positive building environment”

“Pros: The street and area are fairly quiet except for a few parties on the weekends from neighboring Columbia kids. For a pre-war, the water and heating are good. Cons: This building has a major pest problem. Most of the tenants have complained about mice, rats, and roaches regularly. Except for a terrible pest control service that comes irregularly, nothing has been done.”

“Pros: Amazing access to cafes, parks, Columbia, quiet building for the most part, spacious Cons: The super smokes in the building and so our apartment regularly smells like cigarettes/marijuana. Super never responds to texts about apartment needs such as pest control (we have had cockroaches throughout the duration of the lease), apartment repair (requested that landlord hire someone to fix our sink that has been sinking, never came), and noise complaints when it happens. Beautiful area with great neighbors but would look for a different building if you’re looking to live here!”
